1. Inefficient because part of the sinewave is clipped in order to reduce the output;
2. Reduced sinewave means less power output at lower speeds;
3. SCR Controller should not be used as a DC motor speed control if you want power at lower speeds; and
4. Better to use a PWM DC controller to maximize efficiency and power output at any speed.

ОтветитьIt's not a controller, it's just a power regulator. You can buy one at any electrical appliance store in your city. Such regulators are used to adjust (reduce) the power of the fireplace, soldering iron and other heating device. Exactly these are in electric drills. This is a primitive circuit, it just cuts a sine wave from the network. Those. the speed is reduced simply due to a decrease in the current on the collector motor. When a load is applied to the engine, the speed will drop, this regulator controls absolutely nothing.
A real controller of a collector motor has a RPM sensor, which is installed near the rotor shaft and, under load, maintains a constant RPM regardless of the load and the engine always runs at its full power. The shaft must have a magnet or a light reflector, depending on the type of sensor. These are expensive electronics with a specialized chip and sensor. Such controllers are sold too, chips are also sold separately.
For asynchronous motors, another method is used - a frequency inverter, because its RPM depends on the network frequency (50/60 Hz). This inverter supplies different frequencies to the induction motor - from a few hertz to hundreds of hertz. Thus, the RPM is not controlled, but the engine delivers its full power at any RPM. Frequency inverters are also sold.
