his mother was black cuban not puertorican.
google, sammy's bio book: Sammy Davis Jr. was often billed as the "greatest living entertainer in the world". He was born in Harlem, Manhattan, the son of dancer Elvera Davis (née Sanchez) and vaudeville star Sammy Davis Sr.. His father was African-American and his mother was of Cuban and African-American ancestry.

Quincy talks however, he stayed quietly in background saying. Quincy you played your black role too! Do not act as if you were so privileged yourself and Sammy was the only black that this was happening to. A least Sammy open doors for you sir and many others. Instead of still trying ride Michael Jackson coat tail. Why not put some of thriller money towards bring a closer look to M.r Sammy Davis jr life story and music!

His talent was God given . His love of show business started with his dancer father and uncle . What I want to express is Sammy always said he was Puerto Rican , And true is he wasn’t . He was Afrocubano his mother side . African American father side . If you don’t believe me look for it it’s there in black and white . Also a great Artist he was born in Harlem New York . What I liked about Sammy Davis Jr . His drive to succeed and ambition . And he did it . He did not let prejudice stop him . R I P Champ

You never made one positive comment about Sammy. What did she mean about not knowing who his wife Altovise was. Listen we live Sammy with all his faults. Remember how they said Bobby Brown turned Whitney to drugs when it was she who turned him on to drugs. All the white wife's were just fine but the one black wife is a disaster.

America has been through so many wars, if they are not fighting the Germans, Vietnam, Middle East they are fighting themselves, when I worked in the highlands of Scotland it had so many old tourists and the Americans had stories to tell how they dodged a bullet or two, I liked the American tourists as they were the humble of the tourists even though they were wealthy,

I could be mistaken but ever single person that I’ve ever heard that said they’ve met Mr Davis in person has always said how nice, and funny of a person that he was in real life I wish that I had gotten the opportunity to meet him while he was living but I was only 3 when he died sadly there’s a really short list of celebrities that I wish I could or could’ve met and he’s one of the ones on that list I just wished I could’ve talked to him to just talk and that’s all honestly

What i'm not understanding is, why Sammy needed to get married around the time of John F Kennedy election! It caused him such pain. He shouldv'e just waited especially, knowing how many must have really felt about him. He paid such a heavy price, just to entertain us. His first true love. Thank you Sammy, the years was wonderful and entertaining by far!

hate this for his wife! have to give her so much credit... but Sammy dying getting away with owing that much in taxes and not paying before you go, has to be everyone's dream lol I am so glad he was strong enough & raised to look past stupid people and focus on being best he could be vs sitting around blaming everyone he was a victim. By doing so, he rose above the nassis.... good for sammy. he had a mix of hard & good, but mostly a wonderful life... men are made like him today. such honor in so many ways... and I dont think he HURT as much as this guy saying. Maybe at times. Not everyone feels offended at everything. some can laugh at such, take it and dish it out same time and be fine.

Frank Sinatra is the one who got him a gig in Las Vegas during the years when African American wasn't allowed to perform in Las Vegas. Frank Sinatra had ties to the mob, if it hadn't been for Frank Sinatra, Sammie wouldn't be able to perform in Vegas .
