Is it known WHY nsdr increases dopamine?

LOL. I remember something a high school teacher once said in class in response to a student's comment. The student made a comment about a character in a book possibly doing something bad, but would lead to good happening later. The teacher said' "Hmm, I dont think so. That would be like saying I hit myself in the head with a hammer, because when I stop it feels good."

my baseline dopamine is at the level of mice that " will eat to survive (but not learn or seek food out of sight) " which was 5% of "normal" levels in the rats XD --- ok,ok, I'm guessing mine are closer to 20% of normal based on the details, but ... happi happi happi hahahahaha,.....

I've tried periods of sleeping 6 hours, 8 hours, 16 hours (yes, ez) forced regular / let body dictate irregular - Nothing works, lol ... not sure what "restores my dominie levels" means, but not giving me any motivation/willpower, that's for sure XD

Sounds great--but if you are like most people whose brain is out of control, then just thinking of past events (anxiety) and having fears of the future will set off the amygdala--which is the emotional center of the brain and is instrumental in dopamine release. So you aren't really dopamine fasting if you still have desires for things or you are imaging things or events in themselves. Why Jesus would claim just thinking of sex with another woman other than your wife will get your mind out of it's pure serene state--pure heart. And Buddhists are focused on getting rid of their thoughts--not just secluding themselves. And the other side of the equation is serotonin--the true higher joy you have when dopamine levels are put in check. Serotonin is connected to empathy and helping others--which again is vital to the Buddhists state of mine. Their mind is not empty completely--it is filled with virtue and good thoughts instead (unselfish thoughts).

Cold showers in the morning, the more uncomfortable the better!
When you feel that even the thought of geting out of the warm bed is the most disgusting thing ever... this is the precise time to get wet :')
This is the most efficient way of producing Dopamine receptors.

Go outside when you wake up.
Get moving! The World Health Organisation recommends 5 hours of exercise a week. This may seem like a lot, but it is our current sedentary lifestyle that is the problem.
If you're depressed and can't do anything, see a doctor!

Wrt meditation, the meditation we practice in the west is not properly informed by the teachings of the Buddha. Step #10 of the Buddha's instructions on mindfulness of breathing meditation is "Gladden the mind." The idea is to saturate the mind with joy and satisfaction. Happiness is the proximate cause of concentration, to quote Bhikkhu Buddhadasa, not pure and sustained effort. This is basic jhanna practice in the Theravadan/Thai Forest tradition.

Whenever we talk about meditation broadly like this, I wish we could specify whether it's anapanasati meditation (mindfulness of breathing) or just the dry practice those of us know in the west as vipassana.

Here's the conclusion to a very limited article exploring this area:
"How these meditators achieve periods of extreme joy without common negative side effects could contribute to the scientific “pursuit of happiness” and could pave the way for novel paradigms for rehabilitation and recovery from nervous system injury." From: "Case Study of Ecstatic Meditation: fMRI and EEG Evidence of Self-Stimulating a Reward System" in journal Neural Plast.

Sleep, for example impossible when you have ADD and bipolar and you get meds for that and then the meds probably keep you up then they can be sleeping pills and don’t those mess it off too. In the end you’re just so messed up. How do we do this?

Ответить
@visionvixxen
@visionvixxen - 08.01.2024 00:47

Also, this is great but there’s a whole group of people and we only know by diagnosis but we don’t for sure know what’s going on but how do we do this for people with Parkinson Huntington’s? You know bipolar all of it maybe someone with it deficiency or who is able to get enough protein there’s so much stuff going on, all of these are always geared to “” person but what about the ones with different neotype we always feel like we get lost in the mix and then we try to do with all the counselors and shows talk about and it doesn’t work for us and then we encourage judgment and get this fed

Have to take besides exercise and son and jobs and stuff. I have to take ADD meds for ADD and depression but it’s the same time it’s so hard to get the right amount and it’s always changing and to be honest I don’t know I wish there were something like your glucose monitor I would like a dopamine monitor and I guess all the other ones too but it’s not that simple. It also has to do with 1 million other things in your body but some sort of monitor, that’s fixed for you or told you what to do because all my life no matter what I was doing on food or food. All of it even with meditation life has always been a self medication and I’m I’m really tired of it. I’m so tired I’m so alone.

According to WebMD, our bodies regulate tyrosine. If you don't have enough, your body will make it. Too much and your body breaks it down. So I guess i am confused at what point he is trying to make about eating foods rich in tyrosine?
