The designers back in 1981/1982/1983 actually went out and looked at the real stuff in person when researching.




With so much design effort put into the Skystriker here, the "o-ring" figures seem like some half-ass after-thought in the whole package.

The price is too high for me a Blue collar Grandpa if it was like 100 bucks yeah then I would buy it but with the prices today and the 3 3/4 line nearly at 20 bucks when we use to pay 4 bucks for cool action figures, and 22 for a bigger version and then the collector shops holding the same toys for ransom I dunno , wish it was 1984 and joes were 2.99 good luck Hasbro ,I think it's time to give back to the consumer

I honestly think it's a fair price for what you get initially and an even better deal if the stretch goals are hit. An undamaged MISB 83 Skystriker goes for well over the $230 and even a undamaged MISB Skystriker from 2011 goes for about $200 on average which is less than the $230 but it comes with far less than the Haslab. I mean that's my reasoning for backing it ultimately. For $30 more I get a lot more than what I can find on the secondary market. Oh well it either get funded or it won't. Just have to wait and see.

There are Hasbro offices all around the world, and yet, in 2021, you cant back this up if you live outside US or UK. Thats a shame, Hasbro.

a skytriker. uhm, okay. where was this video weeks ago, not four days left with 3.5K of backers still needed? four days left in the game and you offer a look at an unpainted prototype?

you know what a REAL haslab looks like? it's called the u.s.s. flagg and was released in retail 36 years ago without crowdfunding because back then companies believed in their products, which is why it got made for better or worse in the first place.

are we possibly looking at two failed haslabs? are these 'dream' projects? or is the dream to make a lot of money with the little effort? where does your slogan 'where the fans come first' actually start to kick in?

So, are they actually bringing back O-Ring's or is it just a small run as a part of the overpriced Haslab? Are they saying that Destro comes with this?

Can we get a Top gun Maverick themed one?

Make the second to the last unlock a starscream swap deco and the final one be the jetfire one with fast packs

fossilizers that one turns into a Mammoth Fossil, smilodon, Emperor Crocodile, Spinosaurus and Mosasaurus for kingdom(if possible)

Love all these haslabs but all at once right before Christmas.......we just can't do it. Even though that looks amazing!

Why would you make the same sky striker as you did in 1983? Most collectors already have one. I have three. If you were going to make the sky striker again. You should have made it in the 6 inch scale classified series. Hasbro I really feel you out of touch with your fans on this project.

Step 1: Buy all your competition becoming a multinational conglomerate worth billions.
Step 2: Put product that no one asked for on the shelves, but only in tiny numbers at exclusive outlets so it can't be found anyway.
Step 3: For products your customers do want, make them take all the financial risk by making them pay sight unseen so when you disappoint them it doesn't matter cuz you've already got their cash.
Step 4: Stash cash in Cayman Islands while CEO buys fourth vacation home.

Will the card backs be like the 1980's card backs or like the recent card backs? I haven't backed this yet, and won't if the card backs are going to be like the 2021 retro card backs. If the card backs are like the 1980s then I'll pledge for two sky strikers.

This is cool, but will I ever see my beloved pretenders make a return? Oh to have an updated g1 styled bludgeon with shell, or to have a new monstructor 😔 you know the only combiner that hasn't gotten a new figure/figures.

After doing the math on it, if an O-Ring character is priced at $13.00, then you're paying $165.00 for the fighter and the flight line accessories, along with cloth parachutes. That's a borderline okay deal. The only thing that is holding me back on pledging for two of these is that I don't know if the card backs are 80s variants or the awful 2021 'retro' variant.

Hasbro (@Emily @Lenny), if you'll commit to this being an 80s style card back and not a smashed up jumble of different languages then I'll get on board. If not, then I'm sorry - you haven't won me over and this can fail. I have a perfectly restored 83 skystriker hanging over my desk and a blank one in the corner that I could make custom stickers for in the same Cobra hack gimmick.

BTW, I dig the gimmick. It's refreshing to see that someone at Hasbro is having some fun with the line and letting their inner 10 year old out. bravo zulu. :)

The perplexing part is that if you feed the ‘80s price of the original into an inflation calculator you get a number barely over a quarter of the price that … not enough backers seem to be interested in signing up for. Perhaps nostalgia isn’t quite that valuable..? 🤷‍♂️

At this point you should of push the new cobra figures and added the stretch goal figures. Would of made it fund.

I am happy that I backed it. It's been very hard holding my tongue towards the toxic fans wishing for this to fail. From all the photos that I've seen & zoomed in on I just don't see it being the same mold in any way. It's an f-14 & that is where the similarities end. I appreciate the cockpit, the the new gun location & the panels that when removed show the gun detail. I like the detail under the upper panels too. The entire cockpit is super & those seats with cloth parachutes are awesome. The new canopy is cool too, & having a second canopy is a perfect addition. I love the fact that it is now a fully licensed Tomcat with all the right parts in the right places. I also appreciate the extra set of rudders done in black. The weapon loadout is second to none. I have a few blast affects from the Transformer line & I really like them. I can't wait to see this Skystriker's blast affects. The stand is going to be a great addition but I will be torn between using it or hanging My Tomcat in flight mode. Love that the landing gear is now separated from the wing controls. Add in 7 figures & this is by far worth the money in my opinion. For those that didn't want it no worries there are plenty of older Skystrikers on the aftermarket. Don't go wishing for us to not get ours because you want it to fail. For all of us who wanted it & backed it I say cheers. Thank you to the sculptors for their hard work. Yo Joe!

Again, well done Hasbro! I can see all the love that went into this project and so glad to be a backer. I missed out on this as a kid but to be able to have an even better version now is a dream come true! It will make for one amazing display piece! Now the hard part is the wait.

This is truly an amazing piece! Glad I got in on it! My only concern is that I really hope Extensive Enterprises did not secretly get in on this too so that Cobra can get their hands on this too! YO JOE!

This is wicked and I got a couple of them. But bad timing bringing this line back with the Classified series is just launching. That but my O ring collecting on hold majorly

So at $230 price tag you'll sell what people pre-order and that's if you keep your word on pre-order dates or cancel peoples orders completely. Don't say Hasbro doesn't do that to customers cause you do. ( Especially the classified line) You could have just supplied these for retail at $75-$100 without all the extras ( maybe a separate purchase for the extras ) just the skystriker itself. Could have been something really special for GI JOE line.
