Wondering wether to plant a mango to take out our strangler fig, or an Ice Cream Bean? The Strangler Fig is not something we are benefitting from except for shade which we love, but the canal rats are loving that tree a bit too much🤢. Moringa also was not mentioned is there a reason why?

I’m a master gardener and worked in landscaping for 20 years. I attempt to grow most of my food. The biodiversity in my yard is vastly noticeable when I walk to my neighbors house. There are negligible birds and wildlife there as opposed to my bio diverse yard. Even still, I am learning so much with the food forest movement.

God promised never to flood the earth again. Then he gave the earth as a kingdom to Christ, putting Christ in dominion of all of it (even though Christ already ruled all of it, since he's God). And now we are seeing Christ redeeming the world through people, bringing life and color and fruit and warmth to a land that has been full of death, desert, and thorns. Christ is the answer to all the world's problems.

This video looks like it was posted three years ago, but my question seems to be a question that cannot be outdated, as well as your teachings, but if we have canopies and understories, how then will the essential sun reach to benefit the short ones, herbaceous layer growth? Seems impossible to me.
I’m in N. California heavy sun in late spring through early fall.
