Sometimes Disney does strike gold, but they're seldom as often as DreamWorks.
Yes, Family Trauma is an important topic and makes for good storytelling. NOT WHEN IT IS THE MAIN GIMMICK.
However, DreamWorks handles found families, dealing with actual death, and active bad guys that are more than just being bad guys. DreamWorks does have it's bad though, with Trolls and the horrendous Boss Baby. But, overall, still a banger.
