I wonder if they will, at some stage, change the law in the UK to allow the sale of anoraks in colours other than black.
ОтветитьWonderful sights and sounds. We should be so proud of our wonderful railways, yet so much is dragged down into the pigs trough of political greed by strikes and disputes by those who don’t care about our railways and the service they could provide. Just their own egos.
ОтветитьWhat's causing all the smoke? Is it doing a DPF regen ? ;-)
ОтветитьI lived through the end of steam and all of the rest of the railways of Britain in my time. Times when these, in the main were not even glanced at. Nice restorations, but far to clean. Sadly you cannot recreate the romance and atmosphere of the past.
ОтветитьIn my day as a secondman we always sounded the horn on departing whats going on with these silent departures.
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this……the charge of the royal scots grey
ОтветитьI can still vividly remember seeing, for the first time, the prototype DP1 Deltic pulling in to the south end of Peterborough (north) station 65 years ago in the summer of 1958 on a London bound working. As an avid 11 year old train spotter I was well aware of the coming of the diesel age, and knew that steam's days were numbered. The Deltic prototype was so unique as a design, using those twin Napier two stroke marine diesel engines that made a sound like nothing else. Standing next to her on that platform as it opened up when pulling away made a sound and vibration that sent shivers through this eleven year old, I thought it was the best engine noise I'd ever heard, an opinion, it would seem, that still holds true today!
ОтветитьGreat footage, just subscribed 😀
ОтветитьThe trailing diesel locomotive seems to stop in the tunnel while the Azuma is coming in on the left. Did the Deltic stop?
ОтветитьBrings back memories of a bygone time great video.
ОтветитьGreat video. What camera did you use?
ОтветитьVery enjoyable, but why the multiple starts? Seems rather odd. Nevertheless, the loco looked and sounded in great condition. A credit to the owners and English Electric.
ОтветитьWow that was long
Ответитьi love these unusual sounding locomotives good video as always 🥰
ОтветитьD9000 immaculately turned out 😀👍 Have the Napiers just been overhauled? Very little white smoke.
ОтветитьGreat video as always 👍
Ответить11 coaches plus a `47` what does that weigh?
ОтветитьI could feel the ground shaking stood next to one at idle on the gwr.
ОтветитьI did a rail tour of the US in May. The GE P42 locos they use there are the second loudest I've stood next to, but I think for sheer microphone overdriving capabilities the deltics still have the edge.
ОтветитьRSG still pulling the crowds in then......
ОтветитьI caught it just south of York. Great video btw 😊
ОтветитьHow much better does Kings Cross look now all 3 tunnels are in use!
ОтветитьA proper Loco With Red and Cream coaching stock what a sight great vid
ОтветитьA great sound, a great look, a great loco!
ОтветитьMy grandad used drive Scots grey had uniform BR and wear a cap with peak sometimes uniform one old ones had BR lion on sliver buttons smart grandad polished shoes tie gave his badge 50 years on the railway badge had a track on it and blue and red. brought me home station caps from friends retired different lines on the caps red sliver and gold to station manager strips on his shirts and his little black bag with logs inn il used to watch the class 55s full speed through grden City on ecml early late 60s and 70s 😅noise was great coming towards you from bridge and old signals used lift up noise so knew something was coming down the main line
ОтветитьExcellent video.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know where deltic is staying until sundays return or whats the dep time off york plz?
ОтветитьGot it at doncaster br jcn was 3 mins early and flew through sounding superb.
ОтветитьWhy did it stop with the 47 still in the tunnel?
ОтветитьThat second engine doesnt sound like a deltic at all i will say!
ОтветитьNot much of a trip though. 100 yards down the line and then stops in the tunnel 😄
ОтветитьHold on, was this today?
ОтветитьCatching her on the way back sunday hope to get her flying like hell through retford 😀😀😀😀 i vollunteer for the dps the noise is fantastic 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
ОтветитьThe old and the new departing /arriving !!
ОтветитьThat noise when they start up!
Ответитьhi brings back my teenage years. pity KC york rd is not there any more, D9000 well turned out, well done to the team responsible.,but why don't the clowns get the original one back on track ?
ОтветитьGreat video of two gorgeous machines. 😊
ОтветитьNice capture. Amazing to see the Royal Scots Grey at Kings Cross. I caught the 55022 at Brookmans Park
ОтветитьExcellent mate Very Nice 👍👍
ОтветитьLet's hope she makes it this time!!
ОтветитьI would have loved to see D9000 hand to tour over to 60007 but it’s not happening at my local ECML station even though I thought it was plus I have work.
ОтветитьSo lovely to see & hear a Deltic
ОтветитьThe horn, hiss of the brakes being released and the opening up of a napier never fails to send a shiver down my spine 😍 a textbook deltic departure by the driver too, I hope those multiple start ups aren't a sign of anything, very similar to its first trip from KX earlier this year when they lost a unit and were trying to restart it at Grantham and she wasn't having any of it
ОтветитьNothing sounds (or feels if you're close enough) like two Napier Deltic engines giving it what for.........takes me back to my childhood.
ОтветитьLovely footage. Thank u for sharing.😊
