The phrase "I am Spartacus" comes from the 1960 film "Spartacus," directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Kirk Douglas.
ОтветитьThe Biggus Dickus scene was completely unscripted and improvised. The legion actors didn't see this coming and their laughter was totally genuine
ОтветитьWell if you wanna get technical most colonialism has given the civilizations 'improved' technology however it comes at a great price of murder, occupation and slavery of the original people thats why Jews had ill feelings towards the Romans historically speaking.
Ответитьsounds like the LGBTQ
Ответитьif you like this you should watch A fish called Wanda.
ОтветитьBrian says "There's no pleasing some people." Begger says "That's just what Jesus said." LOL
Ответитьyou cut best fragment "your fight with reality" i dont respect u !
ОтветитьIt is so great, because these days religious Karens get so offensed by this film. Also this was a big thing back in the days because no one did this before. These guys predicted the future.
ОтветитьThe irony of the stoning scene, a group of men pretending to be women, pretending to be men
ОтветитьThe space scene was an homage to Star Wars which had recently just wrapped up filming at the time. You don't remember aliens in the bible? Eziekiel saw the wheel up in the air. Sounds like a flying saucer.
ОтветитьHave you two seen The Kentucky Fried Movie? The guys who did Airplane! and the director of The Blues Brothers were behind this sketch comedy.
ОтветитьI been in a funeral ( sorry but Was brilliant) they play that song Was asome😮
ОтветитьWhat is it with people not being able to get past that aliens have been visiting our planet for thousands of years?
Star Gate showed the ancient Egyptians being visited. The Fifth Element had scheduled visits every 500(?) years. Star Wars happened a long, long time ago.
Holy grail ,life of Brian and the meaning of life, All have Religion and God as their main subject, people look for political solutions and religion And both ideologies leave their follows when they need them most😂😂😂 The spaceship scene was parody at the height of the star wars craze 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWish there was a Muslim equivalent to this film....
ОтветитьEvery single time in any of the movies and tv series when John Cleese really slapped people instead of "movie slaps" . Thats just the way he is. This is definitely in my top 5 and i have watched it so much that i actually know it word for word. Its one of those ones that sticks in your brain. The song at tge end Always look on the bright side of life is actually one of the top 3 songs played st funerals in tge UK. Apparently the number one place is the clock tune as it counts the mins for contestants on a game show called Countdown. We all seemed to have a warped sense of humour about it and i guess they want to make loved ones laugh again one last time. I actually want a fancy dress party for mine, i think it will be fun for my loved ones.
ОтветитьThe whole "Loretta" bit AND character was added to make fun of the British left-wing movement in that they were under continuous "cause creep" rather than focusing on core ideological drives, e.g. the rights of workers or national self-determination. Also the concept of the disagreements of these ideological directions causing splits is shown with the People's Front of Judea, Judean People's Front and the Judean Popular Front. And the general ineffectuality of in the whole "What have they ever done for us?"
Ответитьso ahead of its time, comedy genius.
ОтветитьSo for the Biggus Dickus scene, all the gaurds were extras. So they were told, that if they laughed in the scene, then they were not going to be paid. So thats why they were holding in their laugh so hard.
ОтветитьThe aliens are trafalmadorians from the book "Slaughterhouse Five" Kurt Vonnegut. I guess people don't read that anymore.
ОтветитьYou don't remember aliens in the bible? Read Ezekiel. Where the "Angel of the Lord" comes to speak to Ezekiel. Look at it with a 21st century mind and you tell me what's being described there.
Ответить"WHO'S THIS GUY?" - That jailor is the only American member of the Pythons - famous director Terry Gilliam. He's also the one who made all the animations.
ОтветитьSome studio scenes of this were filmed in the same place as The Empire Strikes Back. The night before they meet Lando in Empire, Eric Idle got Harrison and Carrie SO DRUNK that they were still WASTED during that scene! Watch it closely--they're covering pretty well.
ОтветитьGreat reaction
check out the game 1997
Director: David Fincher
Stars: Michael Douglas, Deborah Kara Yunger Sean Penn.
Believe me you won't regeret it..
Cant believe you skipped the bit where Brians mum tells the crowd to piss off
ОтветитьThis movie is a classic. So many great lines, scenes. RIP Terry, Graham. xx
ОтветитьWhy did you not include ‘blessed are the cheese makers’ . The funniest line in the film.
Ответитьthe man who played brian went to the dentist and was told he needed to go to the dr and he had throat cancer
ОтветитьYou don't know that he was the first man in space. He's just the first we know about. LOL.
Ответитьhe's not the messiah he's a very naughty boy
ОтветитьOne of the most important issues with "Life of Brian" is that Brian is being mistaken for Christ all his life. It is NOT a story of the life of Christ, but some people can't or won't see the difference.
When it came out in '79, some bishops in England led a crusade against this film, calling it a mockery of Our Lords life, and the pythons were trying to defend the film
Please, watch "A fish called Wanda" (1988), with Jamie Lee Curtis and Monty Python.
ОтветитьThank you for the great laughs 😂
You guys really should watch Fawlty Towers by John Cleese (the tall MP guy ) & Connie Booth - two seasons / 12 episodes in all - it's a masterpiece of comedy writing.
Another British gem is the Blackadder series ( 4 seasons each one set in a different historical period ) - you will be laughing your socks completely off.
I have been watching both FT and Blackadder numerous times, and I still giggle and laugh hysterically every single time.
And yet a highly recommended British comedy classic is the wonderful "Yes, (Prime) Minister" series - so well written and performed.
"You are individuals!"
Crowd: "Yes, we are all individuals!"
Guy in the crowd: "Well, I am not ..."
Those competing rebel groups were responsible for the destruction of Jerusalem and all Jews becoming slaves in 70 AD. Funny.
ОтветитьI watched this when it was released in Australia in 1979, My wife & I were big M P , fans and we were at The Parramatta hoyts theatre , thankfully there wernt that many there and as two 20 yr olds did back then , we decided to fuck behind the kiosk counter ( it was closed ) then went and enjoyed the movie..
ОтветитьYous need to do holy grail 😂😂
ОтветитьWhat in the adovan is going on here?
ОтветитьYou just don't get it ...
ОтветитьThe comic timing in this movie is just immaculate
ОтветитьMonty Python and the Holy Grail.
ОтветитьNow you've just got to watch The Meaning of Life, my favourite Monty Python movie, soooo hilarious 😂😂😂
ОтветитьThe Biggus Dickus scene always gets me!
ОтветитьMichael Palin is jumping and dancing around because after Jesus healed him he's the brimming over with health and energy.
ОтветитьWow. What stupid reactions were given. Here's Americans that don't even have any biblical knowledge...
ОтветитьFor the life of me I could NOT hold it together if someone got in my face like that and said biggus dickus!!
ОтветитьYea people don't generally like it when you ridicule their fundamental beliefs.
But it makes for good humour.
Well ahead of it's time, predicted the Woke culture crap years ago especially the "I want to have babies bit".
