Being on UK time messed me up on this release time settings. Sorry we didn't do a premiere! I hope you enjoy! Are you watching the Bridgerton spin off?
ОтветитьPrincess Charlotte, the Princess Di of her time, died shortly after her disastrous birthing events. The physician who attended the birth, famous at the time as the best possible man for the job, committed suicide not long after this childbirth disaster.
ОтветитьI cant imagine having more than two children. I am so happy I live in a time with birth control. 😂
They seemed happy. That is what matters.
i always wonder, when they traveled, and it takes weeks or even months, did they stop daily to rest, eat and bathe.??
ОтветитьBruh the way that fictional Charlotte called Pomeranians a deformed bunny
ОтветитьI literally thought that Charlotte and George are not related
ОтветитьShe was a black woman and you know it! That's why she had those features. The artist who painted her portrait often lightened her skin and sharpened her features. If you're going to talk about history, then tell the truth!
ОтветитьShe certainly wasn’t a cotton picker
ОтветитьHistory ❤
Ответить15 children omg! That poor woman...but lucky as well as they all made it to adulthood.
ОтветитьSince my hair naturally sits like Queen Charlotte’s i’ve decided my 30th birthday is gonna be Bridgeton themed 😭😭😭😭
ОтветитьThe occasional "Valley girl talk" is like nails on a chalkboard.
ОтветитьGeorge: Don't become involved in politics.
Famous last words.
Why did they change her race in the series though?
ОтветитьIs she Queen Victoria's paternal grandmother?
ОтветитьSo why are people rewriting history by making her POC when.clearly her patents were white & German
ОтветитьWe germans never call DEUTSCHLAND. The holy Roman empire....in school it,was our country. Deutschland. Die deutschen Lande....may be the British like to call it Roman empire...ti make clear that we were not a country before l871....never failes.....Deutschland. bitte.....we know....like Italy little states. BUT DEUTSCHLAND ...alright.
ОтветитьWell-narrated, and excellently illustrated.
I did not seek this video out, but quickly got hooked by tone-of-narration, and interest in the King that oversaw the separation of the American Revolution.
Sad about aspects of how Charlotte's life turned out. And the King sinking into madness.
I think queen Charlotte was mixed with quarter black and when your mix with quarter black you intend to look like a regular white person
ОтветитьI know she was actually pissed they kept painting her lighter than she actually was. They wanted to hide her blackness ...but what do you expect from whites
ОтветитьPorphyria runs in my family. It does often come with mental health issues (and with the lack of knowledge back then, it doesnt surprise me that he went loopy 😞)
ОтветитьShe was a human being and praise God her and George loved one another just as a man and women/ husband and wife. Who cares what color their skin was they loved ❤one another.
ОтветитьDon't take me wrong I'm not against black beside my mother adopted a child who black American. , I see there few black people in this movie making a history story but there is a big problem I don't believe the queen was black For big reason why that time the slave of black Africa was not free yet
ОтветитьI loved watching Queen Charlotte on Netflix and then getting this as a history lesson. Thank you Lindsay!
ОтветитьDid anyone else notice how they “painted away” her African ancestry? You can say “ she is less than 1% African, but that 1% reared it’s head in her cheekbones, and her skin tone as she aged. She was for most of her life painted to look more European than she actually was. Her nose being changed to be less wide and very straight, her cheek bones thinned. But one thing they couldn’t change was her very African curly hair. Even if she mostly wore wigs, her natural hair was like mine. Only one artist dared to paint her in all of her TRUE glory, but you immediately rushed to say that it must be a mistake, even though you KNOW FOR A FACT that painters of the day always made the sitter look nicer to the eyes than they actually were. You do Charlotte a great injustice. She was the first Par blanc English queen.
ОтветитьCharlotte was a lady of color as was her brother (Mostly the rest of her family) please give accurate historic accounts this family and not white wash the account of Charlotte of Mecklenburg. Thank you
ОтветитьWho would’ve though that the King who wanted to take control of America was such a humble, down to earth dad 😂.
ОтветитьFascinating!
ОтветитьI love the bridgeton's and I love the portrayal of that time
ОтветитьStill fighting tooth and nail to prove that this woman wasn't mixed with black but you claim you are not racist then what are you ????????
ОтветитьI will be the first to say it. I hate Bridgerton. I think it is so stupid to have another race play the Queen when you have so many stories coming out of Africa and India. The book doesn’t even have the race swapping.
Ответитьwas she black or not
ОтветитьAnd Liapold fathered Prince Albert after his wife died in childbirth. He married Victoria, yep.
ОтветитьSo Charlotte and George were cousins………uhhhh…kay
ОтветитьI read that Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert introduced the Christmas Tree. Hmmm!
ОтветитьAm I the only one whe she talks about the American revolution I start singing hamilton
ОтветитьLoved it, well done to you...
ОтветитьQueen victoria grandmother
ОтветитьQueen Victoria was Queen Charlotte granddaughter? Wow...deep deep deep heritage smh❤
Ответитьlove her, what a beautiful personality Queen Charlotte may her soul rest.
ОтветитьSome of the cast in bridgerton has said racist though, so Miss me with that "freedom of creativity" bs. They're clearly afrocentric racists. Calling the english royal family uppsettingly white, like wtf.
ОтветитьThe only thing I have to say is her percentage probably was higher than 1%. Royals were inbred and her brother looks like he had the Hanover jaw. It’s totally possible that she did have a higher percentage. As while as the amount of African people in the court at the time. It would be very possible that royals have African in their blood line.
Ответитьsplendid😊😊😊😊
ОтветитьWait…Charlotte of Mecklenburg!?! Like the city/county in NC?
ОтветитьLoved your podcast, I am your newest subscriber from far far away, Key West, USA 🇺🇸
ОтветитьWhen you read about this people they call them swarthy it’s funny how they look on paintings..all the fake paintings are interesting.
ОтветитьWhy don’t they just dna her bones or something? Lol then I guess we would really know
ОтветитьMecklenburg isnt a unimportant Duchy. It was quite big.
Ответить
