One of my favorite memories from WoW was the level 60 Pally mount quest, he was my first 60. I found a group of 4 other paladins looking to finish the quest, so we 5 man holy hand grenaded through Scholo. Because the spirit waves could only be killed by the correct judgement of a seal, having more pallies made it that much easier. Good times.

These quests were awesome. I did the Warlock one and it's one of my favourite WOW memories. Even in TBC Classic it wasn't too common to see the Dreadmount, and I knew when I saw another guy with it that he was serious. Now all Warlocks have it in Wrath where you basically learn it for a handful of gold .

Was the 0.5 dungeon helm quest the same for shamans as the paladin quest?

Please do an episode about druid flight form quest from TBC.

i had a pally and lock, so did both quests, but easily made all the gold back and then some selling mount runs. also sold attunement to the core quests too by taking people on the shortcut run with invis pots, and fire resist pots

May i add.. I did my warlock epic mount quest today.

and i needed: 10 Elixir of Shadow Power. 25 Dark Iron Ore. 6 Large Brilliant Shard. 35!! Black Dragonscale and 3 Arcanite bars.. So even though gold is alittle easier these days.. It sure still is expensive to get the mount. I bought all reagents needed. in total i used around 750G for the mount and alot of time. So yeah 250G saved. I could have saved 250 if i didn't buy the last three reagents. But that said. It is truely rewarding as a warlock to ride a mount, that only warlocks have.

the pally mount questline seems very similar to the legion pally mount. suspicous..........

While farming for paladin charger materials, I also got Rivendare's Deathcharger!

I’m glad I started this game in December of 2021. I tried Classic for a couple of weeks then started Shadowlands. Having flying mounts makes a world of difference for me. I’d give up and leave the game without that.

Warlocks; Had to give up a bag slot for soulshards, and you couldn't stack them.

I think I did my warlock quest mount in TBC but I still loved it to death! :)

im super late to the party here but the listings for the dreadsteed quest of 3 black dragonscale, and 1 arcanite bar as well as 2 elixir of shadow power are the TBC requirements in vanilla it was 35 Black dragonscales, 3 arcanite bars, and 10 elixirs of shadow power. all of the other listed materials are correct to date though :) great video as always (sorry if someone already mentioned this i sorta just skimmed the comments. didnt really take the time to look)

I still remember getting my very first mount.. hit lvl 40 was so excited then found out I needed a lot more gold. Took me a long damn time to get it too :p granted I was very noob so I mostly just killed mobs and shit.. didn’t do auction house yet

I didn’t have professions but just started doing the quest in west and eastern plaguelands all day, then suddenly I had like 600g on top of the amount I already had. Was able to stumble and make friends with two paladins doing the same quest and we ended up doing most of it and I finished scholomance quest with a different group. Was fun.

Any one know if you have the bits to summon the bosses you still can?

You forgot something important in scholo though;

The Waves of undead were 4 or 5 waves, during these waves you's have to judge a specific seal during each wave. What was messed up is that if you screwed up you wouldn't know untill rattlegore died so you'd have to run the entire instance again

I think all characters should of had 1 special mount for each of them, instead of only paladin & warlock got... Just my opinion... I mean druids don't even need mounts, they were their own mount... Lol...

Lmao I did the old school pally mount quest my self! It took super long time! I didn't want to fly back to SW because I wanted to ride my new mount all the way back!

I did my warlock quest when I was 60 in the TBC expansion, and I can say that when I reached the payment side of the quest I told the group I was with sorry guys that's it for me. Then this guy gave me goldI was SOOO happy I got the mount with that group!

when i first started in bc, and leveled a paladin. My guild was amazed i could already afford the lvl 40 60% speed mount, not realizing i just got it from a quest. ><

I helped a warlock with this back in vanilla, didn't understand why he was so thankful at the time.

Was this still needed in tbc?

I had a warlock in Vanilla, remember partnering up with 2 other locks and a tank+heals. What you need to have in order to recharge the ritual items is the Black Lodestone, so i bought that, and paid some money to the other lock for use of his other mats. The more warlocks you have in your party, the easier it is - not only you can all recharge the items, but you can also Enslave Demon the elite Felguards coming in and set on aggressive to destroy the imps. As soon as the ritual is done, all the demons get pulled back to Xoroth - at this point you can release your demon and he will be gone as well.

The paladin end boss - Deathknight Darkreaver - is also summonable by Horde. Shamans have a quest that rewards you with an epic helm for killing him. Again - the more paladins you have the better, as each wave of undead adds is vulnerable to a specific paladin seal and judgement. Do it right and the adds are easy.

As a warlock you realy could set your hearthstone on ratched. You know what I mean 😁

IIRC the total gold cost was about 750 g or so at least on my server (it obviously depended on AH prices if you didn't or couldn't farm all the mats) and having done both of these quests back in the days sure they were epic but honestly I'm not really mad they're gone either.

It was massive pain in the arse to get the mats but when you saved 250 g (which was a lot in vanilla) you did them but when getting epic mounts became easier these quests became relics of a bygone era and not in a good way. Now I would have preferred that Blizzard had redone so that these quests had less of a cost associated with them and things you had to do (Kind of how the legion class mount quests for pallies and warlocks are).

As an added note, Paladins got their own Class only mount in Wrath of the Lich King (Still obtainable today in Retail but is worth mentioning) which is the Argent Charger, which required exalted with all of your racial factions up to Wrath and Argent Crusade, and some time consuming currency with the Argent Tournament to buy the mount along with it's all class Argent Warhorse, but the reward was an Argent Crusader reskin of the paladin's Charger mount and Thalassian Charger too.

Pristine black diamonds were never "hundreds of gold" or "very rare". In fact, quite the opposite. They were fairly common and super cheap

Worgen get apprentice riding automatically when you hit 20.

Correction: There was no apprentice riding back then. You didn't even need a riding skill for mounts that didn't specifically require them. So for example you can ride AV mount with no mount skill at all and you can ride your races both 60 and 100% mounts with for example undead horsemanship,which costs something like 16 gold.

I did both pally and lock quests

Honestly. Imagine complaining on the forums as a Paladin about these quests, despite the fact that overall you get a 200-300g discount on your mount. You still can complain, but you will look very silly.

Just finished the paladin one. Costed around 600 g

I did this quest line. It was over 800 gold to get the mount. A ton of money at that time. Took forever to get the mats and get a group together. It was awesome and I still remember it all these years later. Still have all the mats in my bank. Great times.
