One day, I broke up with my girlfriend and felt really down. I went for a bike ride on some trails and decided to take a break to eat an apple and rest for a while. In that moment, I was feeling incredibly low, but then something unexpected happened. A fox walked right up to me and stood about 8 feet away. It seemed so calm, and we just sat there, looking at each other. Strangely, it helped lift me out of the sorrow I was feeling. However, just as quickly as I started to feel better and began wondering why this fox trusted me enough to get so close, it ran off, reminding me that it was still a wild animal. I had never seen a fox outside of a zoo before, and if it hadn't come so close, I wouldn't have even realized what it was. It may not have been much, but in that moment, it was exactly what I needed.

Somewhere in the woods, far away from any war.
