Okay, it’s not dark academia, but Anne and Gilbert in Anne of Green Gables definitely fit “academic rivals to lovers.”
ОтветитьHii Leoni! Which language are you reading the Shadow and Bone trilogy?
ОтветитьYOUR BEST COLOR IS WHITE
ОтветитьOfficially I'm an arc academia fan😭
ОтветитьI LOVE bakers magic! I never thought anyone would ever talk about!!! It was one of my faveorites when i was younger <3 I rember it being super fun to read, it has pierates, magic, found family, and wholesome realanships <3
ОтветитьRead Gideon the ninth for unhinged women, gothic vibes, a little bit mystery/who dunnit! It’s one of my favs
ОтветитьStudio Ghibli meets dark academia : sorcery of thorns
ОтветитьPlease please please, I want dark gothic like lesbian romance with some fantasy. I know it's super specific, but I'm craving
Ответитьa classic with ghibli vibes rec: the secret garden :))
ОтветитьYou recommending She Drives Me Crazy as the sapphic romcom book is funny cause it’s literally a retelling of the romcom Can’t Buy Me Love
ОтветитьSuggestion for a book with strong platonic male and female friendship...
Tomorrow & Tomorrow & Tomorrow 🌊
Is there any book with sad kdrama vibes?
I've read American ya and normal high stake thrillers but they weren't that rich in the emotional scene for me.
Any suggestions??
I've read the Wolf Brother series and it's awesome! :3
ОтветитьI'm not sure if the book I would like to suggest fits the criteria perfectly, but for someone who wants to read an "academic rivals to lovers" type of story I usually recommend Possession by A. S. Byatt. 😊
ОтветитьIt's not at all DARK academia but for academic rivals-to-lovers I would recommend "Today, tonight, tomorrow"
ОтветитьFor humorous, cynical, and heartwarming: Calvin and Hobbes. Pretty much fits that description to a T. It is a comic strip though, not a book with an ongoing plot.
ОтветитьFor the fantasy with elemental magic and woodland “creatures” I would recommend ‘Into The Heartless Wood’ by Joanna Ruth Meyer it was so good it feels like a classic fairytale but it was also dark and twisted but COTTAGECORE WITH SACRIFICE AND FORBIDDEN LOVE it was an amazing experience to say the least
Ответитьa bit late, but the request of south america horror can read "The things we lost in fire" also of Mariana Enriquez. The book have short storys about the latinoamerican horror. All the storys have argentinian culture and take place in Argentina
ОтветитьIf anyone has any book recommendations for ‘Fantasy with romance and no miscommunication’, I’d love to hear.
I really hate all the stupid conflicts that don’t make any sense(main why I don’t read most romance and has been the reason I’ve stopped reading books half way through because of it.)
I just wanna read a good fantasy book with a gooood solid romance 😭
I enjoyed your video. It's the first one I've watched, and I plan to watch more. I have a "woman going mad" recommendation if you can find this out-of-print book (published in 1983 or 1984) that I read in college - The Madness of a Seduced Woman by Susan Fromberg Schaeffer. Set in 1890's Vermont, a young, beautiful, unmarried woman murders her lover in an obsessive panic of madness. The book outlines her murder trial and how she ends up in court. Wonderful detailed written - it's a slow boil, but you know where you are headed, and it is worth the ride.
ОтветитьYour enthusiasm for books makes me want to read more! Love your videos sm💖💖
ОтветитьNot exactly dark academia, but ' If You Could See The Sun' deals with a pretty well written academic rivals to lovers trope in an academic setting (elite boarding school). Likable main character in my opinion. The plot is based in Beijing, china and the characters are all mainly asian ( east Asians dominantly)
ОтветитьAny book recommendation with no/little romance or where your in a super high tec world
ОтветитьHUUUUGE RESPECT TO YOU! You gained a new humble subscriber after I watched this vid you really narrowed them down and they are so accurate
ОтветитьSoy nueva en tu canal pero quiero decir q este video me ha encantado. Eres muy certera con cada recomendación y también tienes muy buena vibra😊. Eres única!! Graxx por tu trabajo. Saludos desde Cuba
ОтветитьDoes someone have a book for time travel to the past?
ОтветитьA book with ghibli vibes: The Offing by Benjamin Myers!
ОтветитьTwo recommendations:
- sorcery of Thorns; fantasy book with a library setting
- Carmilla; very first vampire story, female lead, lesbian love story (in a time where it was seen as bad and could only be portrayed as such)
Dutch
ОтветитьThe bone houses is as stand alone fantasy that happens in a magical forest. And Sorcery of thorns is also a stand alone fantasy with a dark academia vibe, both have strong mais characters and a super cool plot.
Ответитьfor ghibli vibes i recommend the scorpio races! it has the beautiful set up where the characters live that reminded me a lot of ghibli, that intuitive magic (idk how to explain it) and a girl protagonist :3
Ответитьcan someone recommend me a urban fantasy (or a book set up in a immersive fantasy world) thriller, mystery or horror? if it has pretty prose even better uwu
ОтветитьFor the dark academia rivals to lovers, I would recommend "Stalking Jack The Ripper" by Kerri Maniscalco. The book is set in the late 1800s and follows the story of Audrey Rose Wadsworth, a lord's daughter, who is more interested in dissecting dead bodies with her uncle than tea parties. But when a mysterious killer haunts the streets of London killing women and harvesting their organs, Audrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell, one of her uncle's students and someone she can't stand, try to find out the identity of the man who calls himself Jack the Ripper. It's a fast-paced, exciting story with witty banter and lots of sexual tension between our main protagonists. I highly recommend it!
ОтветитьSusania clarke
Mexican Gothic
Miss delaway
But Libby and Nico aren't in love though. They're soulmates for sure but it's all platonic.
ОтветитьAn amazing book with unhinged woman is Iron Widow, is one of my favourite books ever I love it so much
Ответитьthe greatest thing happened to me in the last year my life turned into one of those rivals to friends and then we almost dated but we were super flirty so yeah that is my achievement
ОтветитьWatching this video shamlessly after buying three books last week which I haven't even opened.
Ответитьfor a classic with ghibli vibes: The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
for death/dying but in a reflective way: From Here to Eternity by Caitlin Doughty
for the library one: Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
for unhealthy codependent relationship: Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk (if you're not a coward and see the homoerotic subtext)
for cozy page-turner: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
wow. I will certainly be expanding my literary horizons with this list. I literally saved 48 of those books to my Amazon wish list. thank you so much for all the recommendations. be safe, have fun and I've subscribed so I will see you in the next one.
ОтветитьSoo... Mariana Enríquez is from Argentina and the book "The dangers of smoking in bed" is set in Buenos Aires (the capital of Argentina), so I think is highly unlikely that there's Brazilian folklore involved.
Kisses from Brazil 🇧🇷🥰
Please Share your review on the Great book: Kayan Kollyn- the spiral of the ellmott & messenger of the secret.
Thank you very much for your content
I love you for doing this 😔😭
ОтветитьHI! does anyone have a recommendation for feel-good books like the house in the cerulean sea?
ОтветитьGreat work
ОтветитьAny recommendations for a book similar to Cyrano de Bergerac and Phantom of the Opera - about prejudices, exclusion, loneliness, love, friendship and hope. Idealy with gothic vibes and as little spicy scenes as possible. Thank you
ОтветитьWhen you already have an endless list of books to read but you see a 33 minutes beautiful video in which Leonie gives the PERFECT recommendations and the amount of books has "unaccountably" doubled🫠🤍
