Enshrouded: January 2024... tried the open demo, felt like it has great potential!! Will definitely be streaming / recording it when it comes out. I know it's a small thing, but the fact that you can actually dig a cave if you want to it's great to me xD

The game will be Age of Conan with a Dune skin. Which isn't the worst thing actually. AOC is a really good building/survival game.

VEIN I believe is made by many of the old developers from Dead Matter.. judge for yourself whether it's a good or bad thing. They seem to be much further along though.

Survival games with an interesting narrative are among my faves. I m very much looking forward to these. I have spent so many hours on DayZ/Conan/No mans etc. I hope most come to consoles. I feel bad for gaming studios, losing so many good people. But this gives me hope a bit too.

DERELICTS DEMO NOW! This have been one of my most anticipated games for a while now.

Several of these games look promising but Early Access is so difficult to trust.
What I have been waiting forever is a game that takes us to the NEXT stage beyond simple survival games.I want to see various tribal themes where those tribes might be friendly and used for trading or hostile and move around attacking players and towns.NPC's within the towns would also join your attempt to protect the towns/villages.
Gathering and or finding items within buildings is old now we all been there done that for thousands of hours and need to see the genre improve.

Under a rock looks childish as hell but it's also one of the most adorable and unique things I've seen.
Nightingale looks ot be the MOST cool and unique.
Enshrouded is ok.......... But after playing the demo and then the Beta... it's just kind of Meh... because of design decisions they've made that make it too fast, too easy, while also not having enough freedom in the building.

For enshrouded: Fast travel towers and glider mean you can pop around the entire map. in the first 30 minutes. You can fast travel to any of your placed Fire shrines. And you have revive points in front of every dungeon. Basically removing any challenge or need to care about survival or terrain or where you build.
Combat is sort of clunky and FAR too easy. You can literally parry an enemy at the START of their attack. It's like a full 3 seconds on the parry window. 0 skill needed. Literally TERRIBLE at combat with an Iq of 7? That's fine. Load up your fire staff and slowly back away as everything dies. Swap to the Wand and target lock if you can't be bothered to worry about mana or aiming. No worries. Enshrouded got you covered there.
Building is restricted to your Fire shrine building area. And the Shrines are per server not per player so if you joined a game with 5 people but they only unlocked 3 shrines on the server so far you don't get to build your own base etc.

Not having freeform building means you can't build infrastructure. Can't repair the broken world.
You can't get rid of the shroud. It's just static and always there.... It would have been better if your shrine Pushed the shroud back and then as you defeated the wells removed the shroud form that part of the world altogether.
NPCs are static. They don't move, don't interact, don't have needs.... Their just story beats and crafting stations.... Basically useless fluff.

Basically they made it easy, fast, and mostly braindead. Coming from Valheim with it's boats, carts, restrictive portal system and slower paced intentional combat with good parry mechanics, and Elden Ring's super fun, hard, combat.... Enshrouded looks cute but feels boring. I tried it for the entire 8 hours of the demo. Then played it again with a pirated copy of the beta hoping something in it might speak to me further out... but it didn't. It would need a massive overhaul giving it more depth, more freedom, and more intentional design that makes the player feel like part of the world to really be worthwhile.

Vintage Story is my go to right now. It makes me feel like a part of the world, Like my effort is going towards a greater overall goal of survival, like every little thing I do is pushing me forwards to something more. Enshrouded like most of the games I've played in the last 10 years just feels soul less. Pandering to the most unskilled and brain dead people. I don't like to "Turn off my brain and kill things" I like games with a challenge. With choices that matter. That require effort. And this aint it. I could blaze through all of enshrouded's content in 4 hours. It's just that easy. No thanks.

I like the sound of Renown, but some of the graphics on display here suggest that these guys are not the next Garry Newmans.

For those that don't know, Enshrouded has a date now. January 24, 2024.

They seem interesting but haven't we got enough survival games, survival games seem to be becoming the new zombie fastination. Remember when every game had zombies, having said all that I do love building the bases. Conan exiles now has a creative mode, so I can just build my base in peace. And that's really cool and the exploration, and building things....Yea okay I get it survival games are pretty good, although the mechanics are usually the same. And after a while it can start feeling like a job or a Second job. But some of these I will still probably buy so yea, not sure what I was saying....Good job and great video sir.

Dune had better let us join the Fremen AND have knife battles. Melee combat is superior to firearms

Enshrouded just got a release date of January 24, 2024. Wich sucks because it’s only one month before Nightingale. Feel like I won get enough time to get my full of enshrouded! Haha. My two most games I’ve been excited for for a long time.

Enshrouded will become a battle royale.. Calling it now. The way they have gliding and the Ui it just screams BR.
