Can I power these at home ??
ОтветитьAfter looking around for an entire evening - this was exactly the advice reg 150C vs 200xS I was looking for in my hunt for a new key-light
ОтветитьWhat do you think about the Amaran 300c vs the Godox SZ150R?
I wanna buy a Aputure 300x for my main light, and two other lights for filling and effects, but i can´t decide between those 2 models, i watched both your videos (this one and the Godox Sz150) and still can't decide.
Any advice you can give me will be well received
Great video. Looking into purchasing my first light but I’m having trouble figuring out how much wattage I need. More specifically I wonder if the 200xs is powerful enough so I can booklight a subject or two from some distance.
ОтветитьIs the Amaran 150C better than the Forza 60C? It's also cheaper.
ОтветитьThe 600d pro has an SSI of 72.
ОтветитьCan the light also do daylight?
ОтветитьThank you Curtis for this general tech information. Especially about the SSI results giving your best recommendation. For their price and value, i believe it is a good buy for any shooting situation. I might get a couple ;)
ОтветитьThank you Curtis for these reviews. I plan to buy the Amaran 200x S light after I watched you review about it this morning and use it as a KEY light for interviews. I was planning to buy an RGB light like the PIXEL K80 because it's cheaper. Do you think it's better to stick with AMARAN and get an RGB light from them like the 150C or 300C? Or is it better for my small budget to go for the cheaper key light AMARAN 60xs and the RGB 150C?
ОтветитьHello Curtis and thank you for sharing your experience which allows us to make good choices
I already have an APUTURE 120D LED and I would like to buy a second one while remaining in the same brand so that I can share the accessories
I hesitate between APUTURE 300x and the amaran 300c model that you have just presented and for the final word you rather recommend the 200x in your video
could you give me your opinion please in order to make a good choice knowing that it is strongly recommended to use two-color LEDs despite the loss of power we gain in versatility
Thanks for your feedback
Whats the most affordable LED with the most accurate color rendition ? When I say affordable I'm talking around $150-200 -- Its really a light I will use for painting arts crafts -- LOL!! But Id like something I can reasonably depend on when mixing paint.
Ответитьare these brighter than the amaran 60 series?
ОтветитьI have the questions:
1. What the brightness at 1% in lux in compare 150c / 300c
2. What the mic did you use in this video?
How does the 300c compare to something like an Aputure 300x in terms of light output? Which one is brighter?
Ответитьyour links are same for both lights. also, i'm confused, the 200x s is 17,000 lm, 90 ssi $350 and 150c is $360 11,000lm. at 74 sii. so why would you buy the more expensive, dimmer, lower sii product?
ОтветитьHow do you get the white shell 150c?!?!
ОтветитьI'll repeat what others have said here. I know you did hte review on the 200x, thanks for bringing that one back into the mix. It DOES help out in understanding the "hierarchy" or intended use at least to such a wide range of make/model/product. Hard to keep up sometimes.
ОтветитьDoes this review show any RGB output data? I don't think I saw any :(
ОтветитьI am interested in this light, however I am worried about the output. Judging by the specs at 5600k, 300c is less bright than 100d or even 60d, which makes it significantly less versatile. Is that true?
ОтветитьThank you for the great review and for the tips!
ОтветитьUuuh, bad color quality... so no choice for me... I prefer having some color filters for the ban door then with a good quality light...
ОтветитьDo these light perform at full power when in rgbww mode? I know it was a weak point for the similar godox light the colored effects were very weak when in that mode
ОтветитьTotally agree with everything. Especially when you mentioned using the 200x s as a key and the 150c and 300c as sfx lighting. I really enjoyed the original 200d so when they announced a better fidelity cob for the 200d s, I bought two more. I will also attest to them being the best quality of lights I have ever owned (even better than my more expensive aputure lights)
ОтветитьThank you for the always thorough review. I wish you had shown the cable length and also size of ballast comparison with the 300D ballast. Total size and weight difference is key. One of the reasons I don't pulll out my 300D as a one man show is because of the difficulty in size and management... I'm constantly looking for smaller and lighter set ups with the same power. They can be plastic as I'm also very careful with my gear.
ОтветитьI've got the Amaran 200x and use it with a Godox lantern. It's great and easy for someone like me who doesn't want to muck around too much. One thing I was wondering is, do these things ever wear out or lose effectiveness at some point? Just curious. Thanks Curtis. I enjoy your presentations and calm demeanor.
ОтветитьI bought the new 60 x s about a week ago. I understand their very different lights for different purposes but if you only could buy one which would you go for. It seems like the 150 c is a whole lot more versatile but if I know I’m gonna be using the light as a key light most of the time the 60 x s feels okay and has some convenience advantages. Would love to hear opinions, I’m thinking of sending the 60 x s back
Ответить73 ssi really isn’t bad. It’s the same as the 1200d pro, and BETTER than the 600d pro (72)
ОтветитьSummary first! It maybe better for clip views to locate summary to the last part, but I really like it because I can get quick information that I wanted to see without moving back and forth.
ОтветитьWill the existing Aputure Bowens Spotlight 36 degree work with this? Thanks for all your reviews, Curtis.
ОтветитьA million years ago I stumbled upon some Tascam review video you did, and these days I’m like “Oh!!! Curtis has a new Aputure/Amaran light review!” 😆 I don’t know how we got here, but I’m glad to be here.
ОтветитьCan you test the 150C and 300C to see if there is any flickering problem (electronic shutter)?
I own several Aputure Amaran LEDs, such as 200D, 200X, F22C, P60C, b7c... All of them have flickering problems above the electronic shutter 1/250/s, and I own more than 10 LEDs of other brands, never encountered this kind of problem.
I have sent a detailed test video with Canon R5 to Aputure, but they replied that due to the large number of camera models, there is no guarantee that there will be no flickering problems when taking pictures with the camera, including Canon R5 & R6
Amaran 150C and 300c are indeed very attractive, very light in weight, but we are worried about flickering, which limits some shooting methods. For example, some cameras need to use electronic shutter for high-speed continuous shooting.
are these like the Aputure LS 60x 60W Bi-Color Adjustable Focusing LED Light
Ответитьi wouldve loved it if there was a little shot of the 200x as a keylight for a quick comparison on screen. great video!
ОтветитьUgh! I just bought the Forza version of this package earlier today. At least it was on sale.
Ответитьthey look pretty nice to be honest, how do you get the white version ? looks very nice 😂
ОтветитьI am still waiting for the LS 1200x
ОтветитьWish this video was first and the announcement was second.. great job!
ОтветитьSince I've been using a lot of Amaran lights for professional purposes, this fits PERFECTLY in my workflow. Thanks Curtis!
ОтветитьYes, I've been waiting on these RGB versions!
ОтветитьI'm gonna give your ideal kit list a try.
ОтветитьWhen will aputure make cameras, then they can undercut REDa nd ARRI.
ОтветитьSo much for me buying new tires😅
ОтветитьAputure is being smart.
They're not letting other brands undercut the LS lineup.
They do it themselves.
Literally answered every question I had after watching the Amaran announcement vid. Timely perfection as usual Curtis, thank you!
ОтветитьThanks for the review. It answered my biggest question which was concerning the fresnels, which are tuned for the LS light storm 300 and 600. I’ve seen some problems (in reviews) with using the fresnels on the amaran lights.
If I can put the 2x big eye on the these new C series Amarans, I think I’m sold.
Not bad. Seems perfectly reasonable. The spotlight add-on sounds intriguing. Thanks for the hard work.
