2 tips. Don’t start your rust experience by playing solo. Play in groups for at least 1.5k hrs. My take. You learn so much and so much for free from others and have more uptime(less respawning)=more game experience. 2nd tip. When playing solo(if you’re a decent player) usually the big problem is trying to recycle or losing big amounts of scrap at a recycler. Not always but often this happens as monument recyclers are hotspots you can’t avoid. You need them and your guaranteed to be trapped into a house against a bigger enemy team “against” your will. Avoid this by getting a horse and keeping it in a wood 1-2 or stone later sheet door. As long as the server isen’t 500-700 pop and laggy this is an excellent way to recycle and get free recources at outpost or bandit. Now you can avoid recyclers in monuments which is often essential IMO. On the pvp end, playing crossbow usually just means your not running around trying to win fights. Crossbow doesn’t have enough firepower and as a solo is too slow to kill(1v2 or 1v3) to play for winning fights. Your just tryna get away. If you’re good bow try 1vx with that, it’s better for 1v3 etc. Because of this try early on getting a DB/Compbow or F1 grenade to have a weapon to snowball into tier 2 guns with.

The biggest thing i can tell you after 7k hours in rust, is that you cannot be afraid. You need to be alpha, thinking ahead of the situation, no gear fear, the reason you get rolled is because you are roadsign tommy vs metal ak. Half the people i run into get metal ak and NEVER EVEN USE IT besides roof camping and bad defense. Dont be afraid those kits are how you snowball the hardest. If you hear a raid GO FOR THE COUNTER, kit up and rock n roll. The chance for profit outweighs the gear set. Get out n play stop having gear fear.

Best tip i have as a new player is play on 100-150 pop servers so you can get good at pvp quickly

I liked this video. I might make one as well on my gaming channel. Definitely low pop servers to practice, and a big thing for me (100% solo never been on a team) is learning how to play on the 5x servers. Otherwise, I'd never have gotten a gun lol

The sentiment behind the video is nice. But it's not much help to get better at pvp. This seems like a "how to avoid pvp as a solo"
If you don't take those 1v3+ fights. You'll never get better at them. You won't learn how to position. When to loot, when to flank. When to hit a few players so they have to med giving you breathing time. There's a lot to be learned and hiding in the base and running at night won't help when you are forced into a situation.
