My family just watched army of darkness, and I really enjoyed it, not as horror as the others but it was a fun movie, and I love Bruce Campbell. The slapstick horror is great.

One of the most bitter pills to swallow in life is accepting that you’re never going to get to talk about movies with Quentin Tarantino.

I saw EV-2 around 1989 for the first time and it’s still great to this day. It’s so FUNNY and VIOLENT that you’re excited the entire time

The TV series was executed very well. The special effects are much more realistic.

My first time seeing evil dead I was 12 with my dad cause he was in love with it and fuck Ash Bruce Campbell was huge impact on my life he was my role model of being a man’s man. Thanks for everything Bruce!

Hard to not love Tarintino's passion for film. He truly was one of those people that grew up loving the medium, got a job at a video rental store and lived eat and breathed it before making the jump to being in the business himself.

I watched Evil Dead in 1985 when I was 5 years old. It has and always will be with me for the rest of my life. Happily scarred ❤

I’m old enough to have seen The Evil Dead first run in the theater, and I remember it very clearly, it’s interesting that Tarantino’s recollection is a lot fuzzier.

people who saw adult-intended movies early on, at the age of 10-12ish, they're the ones who fall in love with film. The first movies I saw when I was around 10 was Dirty Harry, Evil Dead, Taxi Driver etc. They were Real, at that age movies were strangely real and I loved it. it was almost like a supressed memory that I was there and lived the scenes. Today at the age of 50 Im still a huge movie buff, everyday since I got my first vhs player in the late 80s I've seen 3-4 movies a day. Its a passion.

Sounds like Tarantino isn't too fond of Stephen King. That makes 2 of us. King is a douchebag who spends all his free time whining on Twitter these days.

You definitely had to "get it" and the same applies to a heap of classic indie horror movies. Dead Alive is my personal favourite.

Tarintino never manages to avoid sounding like a pretentious douche.

I like Evil Dead 1. Evil Dead 2 is the one everyone likes because it's comedic and doesn't take itself seriously. I prefer Evil Dead 1 BECAUSE it takes itself somewhat seriously, despite its complete and utter pulpiness. It is unapologetically pulpy and gratuitous and doesn't hamstring itself by making itself comedic, which is something I don't think a lot of people understand. Evil Dead 1 released as an NC-17 movie. Not an R. Evil Dead 2 released as an R, and didn't have any of the trouble associated with it like Evil Dead did, because it was a comedy.

Tarantino would use those weird camera shots from Evil Dead 2 in The Hateful Eight.

I saw the evil dead for the first time ever like two years ago. Now I’ve seen my fair share of classic horror, camp horror, slash horrors and torture horror. But NOTHING could’ve prepared me for the evil dead. Most bizarre most disgusting movie I have ever seen in my life. I was astounded.

Very happy Tarantino LOVES Raimi when he doesn’t have a fondness for a lot of 80’s directors.

The perfect movie 1+2 for putting on in the vcr during the 80s-90s when i grew up and lived at mom+dad when my friend+the girls came over during the weekends to party(great ending after the ending every time and no i dont mean sex,too young back then for that!!)

There's a reason no remake will ever stand up to Evil Dead 2. Often imitated, never replicated.

I think the 2013 remake is the best. its actually really scary, this movie is fine but not scary.
