Ford F-150 Fuel Filter Replacement w/ Tips!

Can you please tell me the fuel filter location on 2013 F150? Someone mentioned for this particular vehicle, the fuel filter is located inside the tank along with the fuel pump?

Mak I have a 2015 F150 4X4 5.0 and I can't for the life of me find a part number for the fuel filter for this truck. I have come across someone that says there is no filter in these trucks ... just a screen on the fuel pump inlet hose. Is this correct or if anyone else knows?

I watched four or five videos on replacing the fuel filter on a 2004 F150. This has the clearest, most complete explanation.

Some smarty pants put the wrong filter in my truck..94 F150... nothing is exposed... maybe cut filter off first?

Is there a fuel filter that needs changing on the 12th Gen f150 3.5 ecoboost? I've read that it is inside the gas tank but have also found literature suggesting it still needs changing every 30,000 mi. Does not make sense.

Have you ever done a filter replacement on a 09 or newer 150? I’ve read they’re integrated inside the the actual gas tank. Is this true?

Confused. On 2010 f150 5.4 says it’s in the tank. But under drivers door on frame there is what appears to be a fuel filter.

I didn't depressurize the fuel system either, but used a 5/16" or 3/8" rubber cap on the old filter while fumbling with the quick release connector. Total spillage was a couple of tablespoons.

Top to deposited the fuel line.
Hit the passenger side kick panel hard enough to deactivate the inertia emergency shut switch. Then start the vehicle to run the remaining fuel in the line out. Then continue with the process of opening the line…

I've seen some vids where they depressive with a switch behind fuse box?

I have a set of those split-plastic release tools also. They are poor. Metal tools are far better for this.
About the only thing the plastic set is good for is letting you know what size in metal tool to buy.

I have to ask. Why in the world did Ford use different kinds of fuel line fittings for the front and the back of the fuel filter???

The sad part about my 08 super duty I had to take an angle grinder cut my fuel filter bracket off because the fuel filter was rusted to it and my fuel filter is held into the frame by zip ties, previous owners of the 08 super duty with 5.4l 3v I own were a landscaping company I expected some things to be neglected on it when I bought it, and fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition coils, we're never replaced, and I had to replace em, and change the oil that oil was black they just topped it off Everytime from what it seems like. But I gotta replace my fuel filter again been 4 years now since I did it when I bought the truck.

Can forescan be used to diagnose a bad filter? I'm getting engine misses forscan shows when going uphill it's way worse.

I have a bad sputter when accelerating from a stop. A quick google search lead me to believe it may be the fuel filter. Has anyone experienced a bad sputter and found their fuel filter clogged on their 5.4?

Went to put a new fuel filter in, and it's loose, I thought I heard the click, and it won't go in further, it wont come out without a tool either. It just wobbles around, but it's firmly in place. I think the tabs on the retainer on the engine side may be bent. Can I just bend them back? If not, what is that part called?

This post seems to stay, so ill update my findings here.
I used my powerprobe maestro, which can test the injector circuit, and found that on cylinders 5-8, I would see an occasional Injector On Time drop to as low as 40.1 and even 101. Cylinders 1-4 would stay around 2.78 - 3.00 or so and never drop. I think this shows my occasional miss would be on the control side to the injectors, which could be the pcm? I also discovered the fat connector in front of the pcm's 3 connectors seems stuck, I tried to unplug it to check for corrosion, but I could never get it to separate so I could check it. Also, I watched your video where you show a #7 cylinder intake roller follower popped off and was causing the misfire there..I assume with my findings this shouldn't be what is causing my miss?
I also verified I had good voltage to each power side of each injector connector. Any ideas? I replaced the fuel driver control module by the spare tire about 1.5 years ago with a doorman, I don't know if a malfunction in it could cause my injector on time drop or not though. Im really leaning toward that connector that I couldn't get apart being corroded or the pcm has corossion or damage of some kind. Any ideas ?

What about de 2010 F150 model? Does it have fuel filter?

All auto engineers should be forced to replace every piece of any vehicle they helped design when it is 20 years old & spent it''s life on a clay dirt road in Georgia. Then stuff would be easier 2 work on.

What if the blue clip is broken on the line? How do I get the line off the filter from the tank side?

This was very interesting being that you removed it backwards compared to all the other videos I’ve seen for replacing a Ford fuel filter.
