This feels like the life of a parasite, feating on humans but also granting them power. But the power only creates more misery.

We need a spiritual successor. At least.
But make the titans seem a little stronger. Like their god, the centipede, learned and wanted to make this cycle a lot more efficient.

The rumbling was a horrible idea, isayama was trying to have morale that the viewer must debate about. However, the morale is, kill 80% of humanity, shoot children, imprison children, nuke a crowd of people, all to save a race (eldians) of barbarians who enslave and conquer.

It's possible that traces of the hallucigenia was still in erens head and / or blood, and it has been slowly regenerating over the years, and as it regenerated, the tree formed into what it is.

@RaginCanadian-gx2zl - 29.11.2023 01:56

It is the end though. Cause while the cycle may go on the story was eren's story, with him and everyone dead and gone the faceless future people are just another part of it not worth caring about.

Also theres no way to tell if it will be titans or something else.

That's an interesting perspective... It would be nice if we get something like a loop theory episode like What if.. What If Eren told everyone what he saw when he kissed Historia's hand. Or maybe reveal Eren to be the mirror man in the Mikasa OVA

It really was not all for nothing. He wanted to get rid of all the titans and gave an era of hundreds of years or thousands of years of peace and calmness for his friends and the island of paradis. All his goals were met.

it could not be over but i think its more of no matter what we do this is just what human nature does in an endless cycle and it's depicting that. the purpous of life is enjoying all the small things. when Armin and zeke were talking earlier about what matters to them and what they had forgotten. running up to a tree with your friends. playing catch with a ball. the small memorys we make that stay with us and make it worth while.

Perhaps it would be somewhat like Tales of Berseria and Tales of Zestiria. With 1000 years being in-between the two, their stories were their own. But, some of the events that transpired all those years ago DID impact the new characters' journey

At least it just can remain on this mysterious scene, so let's stop there before this manga-anime trend happens lol

All eren wanted was freedom for his friends, no matter the cost... And he did mostly achieve that. They were free in their life time, I believe the story is done. If they do continue it'll be great sure, but the story wouldn't have anything we didn't already know about. With AOT each season was giving us loads of new information that made everything prior even more intense, meaningful and, having us guessing why or how things are happening the way they are. So as much as I'd like more... there wouldn't be to much mystery. We know how titans are made, what titans are... all the big mysteries pretty much solved. I'd like to have closure though.... my guy was driven mad I can't blame him he did all he could with all those memories... So I'd like to see a better ending than him dying ig.

This Ymir to Eren cycle could have just been one of many lifecycles the hallucigenia has gone through over the millennia. It never dies and just bides it's time until another unsuspecting victim crosses it's path.

I mean I absolutely expect the series to continue but with a new story, setting and characters... maybe apart from Eren and the already known Titans.

I think regardless it's exciting how the series came to a conclusion cus not only is it obvious it has been set up to continue the story that is the original AOT got a proper conclusion.
The kind of masterful story telling you hardly see anywhere if ever.

Whatever the future holds AOT was and is something incredible.
Hope we get another Expansion or AOT3 Game cus I would like to play the whole story through a game like that.

Or it could be that eren is still alive and the reason why the tree keeps growing is because it's absorbs eren's energy.something similar to this happened to hulk too, in a fight between Hulk vs Logan, Logan cuts hulk's head and attaches it to a tree so hulk can't regenerate and every time hulk tries to regenerate the tree absorbs his energy and keeps growing.
