Protestant vs Catholic (Where are People Being Spiritually Fed?)

The catholic churches feed catholic doctrines not The Word of God.

I have a question, some protestants that i know Gold me that our rituals that we make in Mass are in the opposite version of the bible. I don't Believe It but why they have to say that?

I am 36 years old and I grew up in a Protestant family, I have been in a Catholic church for 8 months and I really like the way they celebrate the mass and the homilies referring to the word and not just throwing stones make you leave with a lot hope and desire to live in a better way every day.

The fullness of Jesus dwells within the Catholic Church.

Interesting that for the thumbnail Bryan chose the Traditional Latin Mass. Sadly, in most Novus Ordo catholic churches the liturgy is so abysmally bad, that I can understand how many catholics can be tempted to leave in favour of protestant sects. It's not that they are invalid Masses; the problem is that all the outward signs point to something banal.

Did you ever participate in one of those prodestant churches?

To be honest brother, protestants do read more than one scripture and they are coordinating with the other scriptures to ensure exegesis.

hi. you should talk to an ex catholic who became protestant and ex protestant who became catholic.. that would be a really good discussion and help see both sides without bias :) it would be quite informative.

I was a Protestant for 7 years. I think I still am but I went back to the Catholic Church where I had my first communion. I came back because I disagreed with my Protestant church on John 6. I wanted the Eucharist. I went back last Saturday for the evening service and I saw the same priest that was there for my first communion 14 years ago. I told him I think I was wrong about the Catholic Church. That it is the church that Jesus founded, and he welcomed me back with open arms and had compassion towards me and He accepted me back like the father and the prodigal son in the Bible, with so much joy. I was sitting there and realized something. If this is not a true church then how can God still preserve it through the centuries? It is in fact that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Protestant churches have truth in them but I am getting closer to believe that only the Catholic Church has the fullness of that truth.

In the USA it seems as an incredible deep anti-catholic sentiment that the Protestant denominations enjoy. They feel that the old criticisms of Catholicism or still true and they runoff that a lot. A lot of that is still culturally very there

Of course, it is great to feast on God's Word. I, too, enjoyed that while Protestant and attending their Sunday schools. Some Catholics have similar meetings where they routinely discuss the Word. Great!

So why do Protestants feel the Spirit? The answer is simple.

God gives his Spirit to guide them into all truth. The fullness of Truth is found ONLY in the Church founded by the apostles and protected by God.

CCC 1445 says it best for me in italics! "Reconciliation with the Church is inseparable from reconciliation with God."

I was raised Protestant and I converted to Catholicism because I found the Holy Spirit there.

I was born in a catholic family, but through the years I left it and began church hopping , just to come back to the Catholic Church , praise the Lord, but I would be dishonest if i didn't say that I still struggle sometimes with doubt , but what keeps me true to the Catholic Church is the fact that is the only church that has roots going back to Jesus , none of the other denominations can say that , at best they can say that their roots are catholic, and thats why you can find some truth in them but not the whole truth, please pray for me

I have a question - how do you know if you're being spiritually fed?

My experience is similar to yours. I'm a Catholic convert in a new city. Catholics are not the most friendly people and finding a new parish to call home has been very discouraging. Parishioners tend to stick to themselves and/or rush off after Mass and it's been impossible to find friends. We Catholics could really learn from our Protestant brethren about being welcoming and ensuring everyone is able to connect and find community.

One cannot fed spiritually apart from the Word and the Eucharist.

If people dont feel fead in the catholic church then they dont understand the mass.i left the church and would be influend agiast the church until one daywhen i walked in the church no mess was going on.someone wanted me to go in and put on a boulletin .when i want in and looked around a voice within said come back .so i left the baptist church and came back .I am 69 years old and i understand the mass more then i've ever did.I love the curch and it hurts when people talk about the cathlic church ,your right about church hopping.alot of the other curches are intertaining.some are like a rock concert.and the leave out the part of the Lord supper where it says this is my body the only take the part that says do this in remember of me.I am so glad that i walk back into the church that day.pray that the Lord will keep me strong so i wont let anything take me from it again.

It doesn't matter what denomination we are in, as long as you follow Jesus, then you are right with Him

I was in the Catholic church for almost 20 years and I was so spiritually malnourished. The priests couldn't preach their way out of wet paper bags; couldn't properly exegete a text worth a wooden nickel. Just a bunch of rituals and recitations, and all they ever seemed to care about was that wafer. Glad I left; proud Baptist pastor to this day. If Jesus comes alive to them in that wafer, okay I guess, but he comes alive in his word.

I don't need entertainment or gimmicks, I get all I need from the catholic church.

Protestantism won’t save my soul.

Consider a few of many reasons why catholicism is false while you fantasize about being spiritually fed in the Catholic church.

1. The bible says try here is one mediator between God and man. The Catholics has many mediators

2. They baptize children who do not understand the essence of baptism.

3. Even in communion, they have it wrong.

4. They don't believe in the baptism of the Holy spirit

"Not being fed" is too common a complaint.

With all the converts our church is even more beautiful and fulfillment of scriptures…

The problem i have with catholics is they're trying to erase jesus from his Hebrew Israelite Jewish roots

Just bought myself a copy of the duay rhemi bible. I was reformed until I found out about atrocities of Martin Luther. Don’t think I want to be Catholic but I want my doctrine and theology to be sound. Interested to read this translation of the Bible and see if I’m missing something

Only living people need to be fed.
The Catholic faith teaches that you are born again at baptism. The Roman Catholic faith teaches that we are not dead in sin and need to be fed. Not true. Saul of Tarsus needed total regeneration as did Augustine

I find Protestant services empty and depressing. I’d rather not go to any church on Sunday than to a Protestant. I’d go to the Orthodox churches. I’d rather do pagan things like worship Perun at a mighty Oak tree than go to Protestant services because if apostolic faith isn’t correct then none of it is correct. I feel like the Jews in Persia.

They are all defective

Protestants go to Church to hear a sermon and sing the hymns. Catholics go to Mass in spite of the sermon and the music.

The Eucharist is nourishment from God for our souls

I agree the protestant churches also try to compete for members. Always looking for members and asking for donations. They are so many. I do like the music but sometimes I admit its too much 🥲

I get more of a banquet in a Catholic Church than I would from a Prod Church.
