imagine pogacar competing in this
Ответитьnice quality video
Look how great the crowd behaves on the mountains!
Are those spare tires or tubes they’re wearing around their shoulders? If so, I guess they changed their own tires rather than getting a new bike from the car.
Sad to see Germany 🇩🇪 not represented, but ‘53 was a time of Germans people still vilified . Also great Eastern European cyclists rebuilding their countries after WWII onslaught 😢
That was so cool. Thank you
Immagini bellissime!
Gino Bartali rival to the legendary Fausto Coppi. They both won the tour twice. Jean Robic Louison Bobet. No doping then. It was suspect with Eddy Merckx. Bernard hinault retired the Tour 1980, some say it was a druig which caused him to have a knee operation.
Ответитьles guerriers de route
How could they ride bikes like that without disc brakes???
Ответитьit was real back then
Amazing footage. Liked the sponsored feed zone, the fact that the riders are spinning (grinding is so 80's) and the hair! Look like the kind of guys I would love to race with. Thanks for sharing.
When it showed the riders in the morning pre-race all rocking 3 piece suites LOL. God I'm happy I didn't live in an era where you were expected to wear that every day.
These poor souls were "peddling-squares" most of the time in the climbs. Over dirt roads, too.
Imagine if cyclist back then tried the latest superbike
In 1953 there where no Multi million dollar Prevost tour motor coaches for the teams to relax in. The contestants where not riding Bikes with an average value of $17,000 , not including trial Bikes. The GC riders did not have Multi million dollar contracts, and the tour did not enjoy 3 weeks plus of TV coverage 4-5 hours a day IN Color.
Man these guys had no gears, no cushioned bar tape! just steel, 15+?? kilo bikes. If I rode one of those in the rain id get electric cramps in my hands. Also they carry no tubes if u look close, they carry tires, i guess some type of tubular that could mount without glue, because they carry pumps on their bikes.
My brother who just passed away knew all these riders by name and number. I was in second grade and many of the names are still familiar: Louison Bobet above all but also the Italians and the Dutch and ... I am Belgian... Once a nun in school asked if I knew who lived in Italy. I said i did. Who? she asked. I said FAUSTO COPPI. She wondered who that was as she expected me to say THE POPE.
Les beaux vieux temps. No ga...y . Que des vrais hommes
These guys must have been making huge watts using those gears on climbs. Very strong riders.
The origin of the aerodynamic mustache.
There were definitely less crazy topless fans in 1953😂
Tour de France today is the softy tour.
When those sportsmen had to work harder than any nowadays divas will ever do. And most of them never made any real money. It was the love for the sport that did it for them.
Why is the quality of this video better than the 1989 Greg Lemond TdF?
Schitterende film
Jesus Loreno a Basque born in the town of Larrabetzu.
I recently had my drivers license suspended and dusted off my old flat bar Shogun that I bought for $10. It is a 12km ride to my work mostly flat gravel track some road either end got it down to 38 minutes thought I was pretty fit these blokes would do it in 15 minutes on a diet of coffee and cigarettes.
This is so special!! Thank you so much for making this available for viewing!!!!
Ответитьthey àll doped to the eyeballs ìts because they havent been caught yet
Ответитьþh
Ответитьto frank , now you know why they are doping
