Why have you come to the world of reality?

The comment on the composite vs rgb is surprising. I remember having a composite signal at first with very (too) vivid colors and blurry image. I made it switch to an RGB signal to get a much better quality image and colors that felt more realistic and intended. So quite the opposite as what’s explained in the video.

In case anyone from the UK wonders how much it costs. £320 or 400 dollars. 329 dollars for analogue Inc shipping and another £59 for import taxes. Takes you up to 400 dollars. Seems ridiculous to me

I still have my pc engine core system with an RBG card. But this system looks awesome :)

This should have come with composite cables. Oh wait, they wouldn't do that since composite is not supported. Now composite users have to seek a third party alternative to convert the inferior HDMI to composite in order to use this console properly. Fail.

So mine is on the way. If only I had games lol. They are so expensive.

Problems aside, this is so cool, man.

I mean at the end of the day it's a cool piece of tech but like you said if you have an everdrive and an original system there isn't much reason to get this.

I was planning to get an Analogue Duo since I have all the other non-handheld Analogue consoles. However, I just got a PC Engine Core2 RGB modded and a Turbo EverDrive PRO. Based on what I have seen I am glad I skipped it. My PC Engine Core2 with a RetroTink is good enough for me. Now I just need a RetroTink 4K. :-)

I have always wondered about the legality of these clone consoles. The manufacturers must not be breaking the law, but I am mystified they are allowed to do it in the first place.

Nice one, indeed but I would rather prefer the PC-FX chassis.

I ordered one literally for one game, coincidentally the only PCE game I own (which the eBay seller I bought it from included a super jank PCE->TG16 adapter with when I bought it)... Bomberman 94.
I loved Mega Bomberman back in the day, and was delighted to discover that BM94 had slightly different music. Both games' soundtracks are fantastic, and it's just a fun time :o

My turbografx was from my cousin, and his family were heavy smokers, so the hardware is extra damaged aside from just 30 years of existence... nothing else in the TG16 library ever really caught my attention, but if I can jailbreak the analog duo or just get a turbo everdrive, maybe I'll find something interesting

Mine is on order. Still hasn't arrived. Your review makes me wish I'd waited before buying. I just love the OG system so...

Fantastic review. Would be a great console to own, but hopefully you already have a collection of HuCards and CD's. Those games are not cheap to get these days. It may have a lot of issues at the moment, but I'm sure they will all be fixed soon enough.

Are those the same 8bitdo controllers that were released for the Turbo mini (with usb dongles)? Are these bluetooth?

I didn’t grow up with the turbo grafix because 1. It was way too expensive 2. I never knew anyone to own one

I only been aware of the TurboGrafx-16 existence for about 10 months
All my friends growing up had a Sega genesis

There was an audio issue with the Turbo Everdrive Pro that required an expansion board. Is stereo audio not an issue when using the Everdrive Pro on the Analogue Duo?

I think they intentionally excluded the Turbo Everydrive to some extent, and if you anticipate inserting cards that deep, there's no difficulty in increasing the height of the card slot.

I can't believe that it doesn't come with a controller for $250

You can adjust the rapidfire of the 8bitdo PCE controller. My life in gaming said the same as you but they are also wrong...(?)

I may have disagreed with your game taste over the years, but I have to admit your meticulous attention to detail is astounding. You have to be commited to locate subtle stuff like the audio glitches in some games, great job at reviewing this.

It seems that the modified systemcard files cannot be supported, and the Chinese translated games cannot display Chinese characters correctly.

Thank you, for pointing out what to do if you're not getting sound or if the wired controllers aren't working right. Still waiting on mine to arrive but if this had come out after I got it I likely would have taken my Avenue Pad 3 apart, so this saves me from doing that.

Two questions:
1. I'm a little confused on one point. Went back and watched it again and I think I got it, but want to be certain. You said it could play a burned CD-R of YS 4 in English, but also said the machine didn't recognize it. I'm assuming what you meant was it won't recognize it but if you click on Play CD it'll run it just fine regardless? Have I got that right?

2. Did you test, if you happen to have any, PCE Works repros? If so, how did they fare? Just curious as I have a PCEW copy of Rondo of Blood and am REALLY hoping it'll work no problem.

Not a fan of the slot loading cd drive, a toploader with an opening lid would have been better in my opinion.

Do people get these things because they dont have a CRT?
