What gear do you use for recording in music production?
Ответитьhmmm I think a pro console has matching EQs if you want to produce like a pro....
ОтветитьClassic Warren... "So walk us through the console." - then Warren proceeds to walk us through the console. 😂 I kind of find that to be an English thing, to ask questions and then immediately answer them yourself.
ОтветитьCan you interview someone with a Neve Bcm 10 & somebody with a Rupert Neve 5088 and somebody with a SSL origin next? I keep rewatching this video over n over. Buying a console is a hard decision there’s a few options haha
ОтветитьLook at those burns!!!
ОтветитьTgis console is INCREDIBLE. Thanks !
ОтветитьDan Zimbelman told me I was going to buy one of these when they first came out. 😅
I met Dave at the Inter-Bee show in Japan last year. Great guy. 👍🏻
What album does Warren say he made on this console near the end? Where can i hear this thing?
ОтветитьEven the Yamaha OTR96 (2002) and Avid 003 Factory (2007) had capacitative faders! 😮😊😊🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️🎚️
Ответить700 units sold? How can that be economically viable! Lovely product though....
ОтветитьThe console is so nice!! 🎉
Ответить58 grand 😢
ОтветитьAnd then I saw the price tag! Ouch! Still want one, though. 😮
ОтветитьVery nice! How would stand with a Neve BCM 10?
ОтветитьI have a Soundcraft Ghost :(
ОтветитьNice video, as usual! What's the name of the white midi controller at the left part of the table?
ОтветитьWhat an incredible console! Man if I could afford it I would get it in a heart beat. Really looking forward to those mix breakdowns!!
ОтветитьWhat gear do I use? Nothing like this beautiful board. Just gorgeous. I can only dream -- thanks Warren!
ОтветитьQuestion for Warren: like a lot of people, I exclusively use an interface box to plug mics into ProTools. So I’m using whatever preamps are in that all-in-one interface box. (an Onyx Blackbird by Mackie) How much difference, and what sort of difference, might I get from sticking an external mic pre before the interface?
ОтветитьThank You! I love API stuff and there just aren’t enough videos out there about the consoles. If channel count was the issue, what are the main differences between this and the 2448?
ОтветитьNice console, cool video (as always!).. But come on, german broadcast- and recordingstudios are using this "change a module, when it fails" since the 40's?!? All Siemens, telefunken, Neumann stuff works this way....
ОтветитьFor lol those on the forums who swear they hear a difference sometimes huge between the pres. Well this just makes you all seem a bit full of it. Lol. Thanks for the video. Always loved API
ОтветитьVery feature rich which is sort of a negative in my eyes. Seems like you could make the same console without all the automation and motorized faders for about one fifth the price.
ОтветитьI suppose it's a giveaway for the console 😂
ОтветитьNice board!!!
ОтветитьMaybe geeky, but a series talking through classic consoles that many of us will never see would be great! How the EQ and comp sections etc set them apart. Pressing play now!
Ответить$60,000 ....there HAS to be a way to make this at a lower price.... Yes I know it's not going to be $5K, but this elitism helps no one. This is MORE than most TESLAS!
Ответить❤❤❤😊🌞
ОтветитьI want one nowwwwwww
ОтветитьI bought a 2448 from Dave for my previous spot in Milwaukee, Wire & Vice. Dude is legit good people, loved working with him and will put another API in my new room here in Seattle when I get to that point... probably a 1608-II as shown here. Incredible consoles, the automation is phenomenal and dead easy to work with.
ОтветитьThats a great mixing board to do your mixing on. Mixing Great stuff... on that thing.. that thing it is... an API
ОтветитьIf I ever bought a console, this would probably be it👍
ОтветитьI wish I was young again in this day and age....not really I would have missed the 60's but I dont remember much back then either wink wink haha so much technology love the book Warren almost done going through it and have made my notes! You are so knowledgable I wish I could have been an apprentice- so much to know and yet I'm all in the Box- would love to have learned the console aspect of it and hardware I feel that would have been more enlightening knowing that first before going all Box like Scheps!
Ответитьa api 1608 what dreams are made from.. and the greatest sounding mixxes ..one word ..unreal
ОтветитьWow!! Great people with a great console!
ОтветитьNo problems getting the faders to contact-conduct considering the amount of nose grease on your fingers. Ha, just ribbing you Warren! Great video really enjoyed the console.
ОтветитьI cant speak about the API mixers but I love the UAD API Channel strip I rent on ocassion from Spark. I use it with Steven Slate Trigger on Drums along with SSL Drumstrip. So far so Good! Cheers Warren
ОтветитьTasty looking console, with old and new tech working seamlessly together. Whats not to like. Thanks very much, great video.
ОтветитьOMG what a treat this is. All this information!!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!!!!
I can only imagine how much this thing costs :/
ОтветитьOmg I want this!!!
ОтветитьAwesome!! There is just something special (to my ears) about the API sound.
ОтветитьNow that's what I call a 500 series rack! Got me drooling
ОтветитьNice console.
I'm playing a drinking game where I don't take a drink if Warren mentions The Fray. Coming up on 8 years sober this year!
So one thing I don't quite understand with recording with analogue consoles with DAWs... When you use the Direct Out on each Channel, you can't actually use the EQ and the Compressor, because you take the signal right after the gain stage, right? So is this something people actually do? Or do they instead use the insert sends to go into their AD/Audio-Interface? But when you do that, you will still get the signal before the fader. Honestely, I've been recording for years but since I never really used analogue consoles, this kinda confuses me.
Ответитьgood to see prince harry making music!!!
Ответитьhave api the box 2 very nice sounding
Ответитьby far one of my favorite consoles of all time.. just feels amazing to sit in front of and work on.
