HE SAID THE FUNNY, ROCK AND STONE
Ответитьget 2-3 cheap brush, couple of paints for your starting minis, primer, side cutter, cheap headlamp for tenner (100 pounds for lamp bruh..) spend like 30-40 pounds MAX.
ОтветитьTalking about the airbrush, have you considered the health risks? For me buying a small ventilation system and a mask added a lot to the costs. I know acrylic is not so dangerous for the lungs than other paints, but still, don't you mind inhaling those very tiny particles, or at least consider telling you audience that they should watch out?
ОтветитьI use a tackle box for a paint case. It’s cheap and works pretty well.
ОтветитьI think youve forgotten what it's like to be an average/ poor and afford like one or two kits a year. A 120$ desk lamp my guy? A 700$ printer? An air brush?
ОтветитьI'm considering getting into warhammer and I got a few questions.
Can you buy pre-painted minis?
Why don't you paint the peaces before assembling?
Would it be more economic to go the 3D printer route and just print all the minis I'd use?
Are there any ways to start the hobby under $200 (the cheaper the better)?
Is warhammer even a hobby worth considering if I'm on a budget?
What ways can I learn about public events hosting warhammer?
What is the most noob friendly army?
Any answers are appreciated.
As a fellow beard the worst part about the airbrush is wearing the respirator . Do you not wear a respirator, suffer through wearing a respirator, or something else?
Ответитьfor a light I have a headlamp imo it is unmatched when it comes to casting shadows on the thing you are painting.
Ответитьthe recommendations for winsor newton 7 series brushes is bad advice for beginners. getting the cheap synthetic hobby pack of like 10 brushes for $5 is more essential. maybe 6mo or a year in. consider upgrading to $20 paint brushes. but... if a n00b with no painting exp buys a $20 brush day 1. they're going to ruin that brush by day 2.
One thing I would personally add. as an oldz. get a magnification thing. I have a dorky jewelers head ban, that has the little flip down plexiglass magnification, but have seen people with desk clamp...magnification sorta sherlock holds...spy glass style magnification lens. but... get something. being able to see eyes. see the tiny belt buckets, or veins, or scars, or little skin ports all those tiny details. Or doing edge highlighting and being able to clearly see the edges and your brush tip. makes a world of difference.
3D printing saves you 1000s of dollars. These companies rip you off with their prices. Everyone should print until they drop their prices.
ОтветитьWhat light temperature are you using for painting? I do have a similar lamp, but I find "daylight" setting a bit to blue.
ОтветитьSir you don't get to say an air brush is cheap and doesn't take up too much space and then immediately quote $150 and show a compressor the size of a house cat XD
ОтветитьThanks, picked up one of the wet palettes
ОтветитьWhy do you have three sets of brushes with the same sizes?
ОтветитьThese are not beginner tools….
ОтветитьNo you don't need a $100 lamp to paint minis. It might be nice, but necessary.
ОтветитьI’ve been out of the hobby since 2001 (when I won a Youngblood’s golden demon 😂), and I’m finally going to jump back in. SO much has changed, and this was really helpful, thank you
ОтветитьBuying a resin printer was one of the greatest things for painting. I got a phrozen 8k and printing minis to practice techniques, mess around, and just not suck. I saved my GW minis for a while, accumulated a pile of shame, and painted them when I was much more confident.
Ответить3d Printer has been such a boon to my painting. It lets me practice my brushwork and new techniques without anxiety of "messing it up" and wasting money on models. I can print dozens of minis at a time, and practice on them without any worry!
ОтветитьI know you said you tried green stuff, and just dont like it.
But they also make another clay thats called brown stuff. Have you ever tried it?
Its wonderful. And it basically does what milliput does.
But brown stuff takes a lil longer to dry, but once it dries, its hard as a rock.
I use it for a lot of stuff 🤣
Ive been playing warhammer sense like 03-04.
And i just use green stuff and brown stuff bc thats the best there was back then. So force of habit keeps me using it.
And i bought 20lbs of it for a heck of a price that i gotta use before i buy any other clay/putty.
But if you havent tried brown stuff, you should give it a try.
That lamp got fairly low CRI tho so wouldn't recommend it.
Ответитьinstead of parchment paper, waxed or not I use Photo paper for printers. the glossy treatment is great for mixing paints
ОтветитьBro the milliput part had me dead
Ответитьwhat lens do you use?
ОтветитьI have used my apartment lights and daylight to paint for the past couple months and I don’t recommend it 😂 It’s straining on your eyes and I end up having to twist and turn and contort my own position just to get light on the parts I’m trying to see. Get a lamp.
ОтветитьI use a Hama Ringlight as a lamp, it has 10 dimming levels and 3 temperatures. When i turn it on it's like a mini sun
ОтветитьWill definitely get some of these, especially the wet pallet.
Also my paint case is a Vault-tech lunch box from the Fallout 3 collectors edition. And some foam inserts.
You can take one of those hobby drills and put it in a makita screwdriver. Time saved and since its done fasters the holes are straighter.
Magnetization+
Cutting towards your thumb with a hobby knife. Not a good idea 😂
ОтветитьThank you Z! Always great advice
ОтветитьI got a USB powered LED light bar that is magnetized to a couple adhesive brackets under my monitor. They also make them that stick on top of your monitor. It's a great solution for people that paint in front of the computer.
Ответить120$ for a light , 150$ for a airbrush, tools 25-100$, a 3d printer for and resin 400-900$. Brushes , paints , etc. Avarge salary in my country 480$ . Spending twice as much on paint products just to get 2000-2500 points of an army also seems super excessive.
Also suprised that people don't need a license to have a compressor without needing it for work.
Great video, it's very good!🙂🙂
ОтветитьI'll make sure to never watch another one of your videos.
ОтветитьVehemently against 3d printing.
Ответитьlooks up from the mini I'm painting with just the light from the ceiling light "huh?"
ОтветитьId say that besides prep tools and wet Palette, the rest is very much for intermediate or advanced hobbyist. Unless you want total freedom as far as minis go then 3d printer is a Hood start.
ОтветитьYou've convinced me to upgrade my mustache. Glorious.
ОтветитьI’ve been looking at the neatfi lamp now for about a year and a half. I just ordered one!
ОтветитьWhile I liked the video, I found the language use a little odd. You have F-bombs and then bleep Sh*t? Whatever, I like your videos and you have a hundred thousand-plus viewers so why change formats now. I honestly don't recall the language before though. I generally don't compare anything I do to the hardness of my pee pee either ;) (Insert jokes here). I just wouldn't share this video with a younger viewer. The beard is legendary!
ОтветитьThis will surely piss some people off but I don’t make much and have no one to play with really. Sooo my wife and I just won’t paint.
ОтветитьOk man I agree you dont need an expensive airbrush to seriously up your painting game but they definitely aren't the same either and the needle size does change the way it works but yeah buying a 200 dollar airbrush as an airbrush beginner is definitely a waste.
ОтветитьWaxed parchment paper is super cheap too.
ОтветитьRegarding airbrushing, how necessary is a spray booth? I've been using a Master's Touch booth from Amazon but I always see people just spraying at their desk with no booth. Do I not need it? I'd actually be able to spray at my desk instead of setting up a whole new table in another room just to use the damn airbrush.
ОтветитьIMHO H&S airbrush is worth the price. I used to use a cheap chinese one and the process itself was similar, but I had this mental block each time before engaging in an "airbrushing session", because it was a hassle to clean it up afterwards.
Ответитьthe pickle rick comment made me laugh so hard, I print the exact same model and give it to my girlfriend as a gift.
Ответить
