Book and Bed Tokyo I was very close to booking for my stay in Tokyo in 2019.

For me as a Brit who is cheap, it is the cheapness of a hostel in UK/Europe but with the privacy and I found that easier. (and not wanting to pay more for an actual hoteL, but I paid maybe £30 a night for a hostel/capsule bed for 4 nights 5 minute walk from Akihabara train station?)

I also don't know if I'd cope as well in the 'futuristic'/what will come up for capsule hotels. The wooden based ones felt more like a hostel bed with privacy than a capsule. As the sizes were surprisingly decent, definitely better than a regular hostel bunk bed, it was more comfortable keeping my bags (day bag I used for my laptop and DSLR, and clothes luggage/main travel bag which was a 40l backpack using packing cubes) in the 'capsule' and still feel like I had a full single bed.
