I turned 10 in April 1969. Thanks for the memories Fred.
ОтветитьThe Moody Blues on the Threshold of a Dream.😊
ОтветитьWOW!!! this certainly brought back a LOT of memories!! Thanks once again, Fred, for a trip most MARVELOUS down memory lane!
ОтветитьThanks for the magazine covers like CREEPY, Fred. Allow me to suggest some lessser known titles like CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN and/ THE MONSTER TIMES in a future video. For other comic-format magazines, MONSTERS UNLEASHED or NIGHTMARE.
ОтветитьI don't know how you do it Fred - the wonderful quality episodes just keep coming.
Lots of grateful folks like me (I was 8 that year BTW) sure are glad you do!
- Ed on the Ridge
Will you be staying after Sunday should've been a bigger hit. Too bad radio stations don't play it today, Better than most oldies.
ОтветитьLew Alcindor was my favorite and a big influence on my basketball playing. I'd get the ball inside and think what I've seen #33 do. Two points was the result 😀
ОтветитьSorry to see Joanne Woodward essentially snubbed at the Oscars. I loved "Rachel, Rachel."
ОтветитьThe Kmart ad and its prices are incredible to behold! Tin foil? 17 cents!
We are in big trouble today folks. The dollar is being murdered. Get ready. Do what is necessary to protect yourselves from the economic depression that is coming very soon!
I saw Led Zeppelin in 1970 at the Los Angeles Forum. The tickets were 4.00 ea. for floor seats. The opening act was Black Sabbath, which included 21-year-old Ozzy Osborn.
I was 15 years old.
Feels weird to see Agnew. Also feels weird to see people being so "neutral" about Nixon. Great time capsule, Fred.
Ответить"It's a tie' a truly heart stopping moment followed by "hello, gorgeous' one of Oscars most memorable. As for the Best Picture[ consider yourself a fan, for i am not.
ОтветитьThe month and year of my entrance into the world. Thanks Fred for the glimpse into this time as well as all of your other wonderful videos, keep em coming.
ОтветитьLove the Kmart add. Middleburg heights and eastlake ohio? That's in my neck of the woods.
ОтветитьThe Dick Van Dyke Show should have continued they ended it after their 5th season in 1966 but it could have run for another 5 years very easily and it would have been in color which would have given it a new life.
ОтветитьMe. was....3 1/2 yrs young!!
ОтветитьElephant Mountain is a lost gem of an album, good stuff as always Fred 👌
ОтветитьIt was good times for my family. I turned 7 in April 1969. We lived in suburban Chicago and I attended a school for gifted children. The Cubs had a fantastic year (until September 😕). Life was good.
ОтветитьStill nothing like 60s cigarette commercials they are the best
ОтветитьI remember some of these, I was getting ready to start first grade in the fall.
ОтветитьI turned 5 in the Fall. My family vacationed in Daytona Beach in mid July. The only thing I barely remember is being on the beach with everyone looking up at the sky. I wonder why? 😉😋🙂
ОтветитьI was 10. Please take me back to those days!?!? I don’t like living with woke jokes like Joe Bribem and Cum Allah Hairy Ass!!!
ОтветитьFunny watching one guy walk up to receive the best picture awatd at the Oscar's . Today it seem the whole cast and crew go up.
Ответитьfred.....i think i'm time tripping again...
ОтветитьThis was a great time for rich tall good looking straight white men, no one else. A lot of discrimination back then
ОтветитьDebut album by Chicago (then Chicago Transit Authority) when they would really rock out with long jams. And Terry Kath was the heart of that band. Great guitar player, singer and songwriter who was gone far too soon. RIP.
ОтветитьHello Fred. Well, April 1969 was very special for me. I was 23 years old and had been out of the Marines for one year. And I had just completed my one year probationary period with the L.A.P.D. And passed with flying colors and assigned to Central Division walking a beat Downtown. I would go on to retire in 2003 at the rank of Sergeant with 35 years of service. Thank you very much for all of these wonderful memories.
ОтветитьI wonder how many old Viewmasters are still floating around?
ОтветитьI was in the first grade in Houston, Texas. What a great time and place.
ОтветитьCigarette commercials and ads were banned from TV, radio, newspapers, and magazines in 1970.
Ответитьis it just me, or is it weird that the Dick Van Dyke Show had a reunion only three years after it ended?
ОтветитьAll shall come to pass.
Bless all those that participated in the evolution of humanity.
I was only 10 in '69.
I don't remember any of the sports , political or Hollywood news.
But, some of the other stuff I remember.
One fond memory I have is always going to the corner drug store to look over the spinning comic book rack, for my favorite comics!
Thank you for this. I was 10 years old in 1969 and I remember it well and was a good year. It was long before internet, and I believe it was just before we got cable TV. in our home I was born and raised in Canada and until we got cable, I was blissfully unaware of Vietnam war and much of what was posted in this video. I did see many of the situation comedies, but all the dark side of American politics and racism did not touch my world. We had not yet become Americanized, and I believe we were happier.
ОтветитьI was a child in the 60s but always found dick van dyke show boring! As i did capt kangaroo romper room! Mr rogers i liked watching with my own kids!
ОтветитьIn 1969, I was 24. Just starting my life. Now at 79, it's amost over. Nother but memories and traces of a life well lived. No regrets.......
ОтветитьLoved this
ОтветитьThe year 1969 was not a great time, but we have The Dick Van Dyke/Mary Tyler Moore reunion special, Oscars, etc. but we had some great things.
ОтветитьSpiro Agnew! He got kicked out of office too, along with Nixon.
ОтветитьThis was so appreciated! If Trump wins a dictatorship will be approved and America ends as we know it.
ОтветитьAh, 1969. I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.
ОтветитьMore sports less hollywood !
ОтветитьWas 9 enjoying my childhood pretty much immune to the problems of the world but remember the distress that my mum experienced with RKFs and MLKs assassination.
ОтветитьI turned 17 that month. Our school choir sang Traces Of Love.
ОтветитьYou gotta love Dick VanDyke, loved his show.
ОтветитьAhhhhh, Thank you!
ОтветитьNixon became crooked out of paranoia but unlike Trump at least he was competent...
ОтветитьThought it was Rochelle Rochelle...
