Utah is amazing! I love it but there are many reasons why it isn't perfect.

This video completely ignores social issues and the state's acute lack of diversity. If you're not a white, straight, conservative, religious (preferably LDS), married family person, Utah can be a pretty lonely place.

Utah is one of the dopest states to live in if you are an outdoors/mountain person. I spent a couple winters around St Geezy and I like it there. But holy hell it gets busy with Recreator’s. All in all Utah is one of my favorites next to Wyoming.

Liquer laws... there is a "double fisted law" you cannot order a drink with more than a 1oz shot, so no double shots, or order more than 2 drinks at a time unless the other drinker is standing next to you.
The bars are closely monitored for how much they are serving, and have a machine that must be used that pours exactly 1oz and tracks the shelf stock of diffrent liquers. If the authorities check the level of thier bottles, they cannot be off by more than a certain amount, or they can be heavily fined or lose thier liquer license.

I thought you were going to mention the absence of casinos. Some people like to visit casinos for recreation. Yes, casinos are available in all of the adjacent states, but getting there can be quite a drive. I believe Utah and Hawaii are the only states without casinos.

I used to live in California up until 13 years ago. People are leaving California in droves by the hundreds of thousands. Guess where those Californians go? They go to Utah, Idaho, Montana, Texas, Florida, and several other states. 30 years with a presence in Utah now (served in the military so some of my years were gone). I live in Central Utah (Sanpete--not mentioned in this video)--great place where we avoid the downsides of the cities. Incredibly safe, full of freedom, beautiful, good people. If you are not a pioneer Utah insider (even if LDS), here you may feel like you are Spock wearing spock ears on the Enterprise space ship--Spock loved his crew and his crew loved Spock, but everyone knew that Spock was an alien. If you feel that you have to "belong," Utah may not be for you, but if you can tolerate being an eternal outsider (30 year veteran outsider here), it is great, and you will make wonderful friendships.
