The only sensible response to illithid.
My players found a door under ground. They were all relying on dark vision at first when they were trying to open it.
Eventually they lit a torch and noticed that the door was emblazoned with the head of an illithid.
The one player in the group who knew what that was went white irl. She rolled to see if her character knew what it was, after which she said "yep. I'm out." And left without even taking the time to tell the other PC's why.
