How to take apart PS4 Controller and Repair the Analog Sticks

Hey, what software did you use to check the drift?

Accidently broke the wires and disconnected the mother board I have to buy a new one now

SOLDERING?? Nah man ill just get an another one

if you take into consideration how much you paid for the controller the time you put into cleaning it not to mention the tools that I'm sure not a lot of people have 15 more dollars and you could have just bought another controller

i bent the metal prongs while trying to take it out on accident, is there a way to fix it or do i need to buy a new one?

How do you pry without breaking the clip? I already broke both sides clip during prying it.

I broke my damn anolog stick now it Just turns

I can fix car stereos and moderate circuit board stuff, but I am just looking for how to clean my stick connection easily, this was to much information, but well done information;)...

My issue isnt joy stick drift but the L3 button tends to trigger the R2 button. Sometimes just using the left joystick to move around at all does so. AND sometimes even shaking the controller or squeezing just the handles only triggers it!

I just bought Re4 and im trying to play it, but now i cant! Haha. I did take it apart like shown here up to the point ofbjust visually inspecting the bother board and joy stick buttons but nothing looks damaged nore dorty. Any ideas?

He does this so easily like when he disconnects the battery, it takes him 10 sec at most it took me 10 min.

Clearly you are very well experienced with all aspects of the modern game controller, though I would like to commend you for the care taken in disassembly. As this is the first time I've seen one taken apart without breaking at least one clip....including my own😂

I tried another video before this one, that one didn't mention at all that starting from the palm rests was an option, and ended up being what I needed to crack my controller open. unfortunately I don't have the soldering items/experience needed to replace the joysticks, but cleaning them out at least helped the drifting issue into a barely noticable move left rather than a whole spin of the camera, much easier to deal with

Super useful video! I had trouble with the clips and ended up looking up this video thinking I was doing something wrong, and thank god I did so I also got the warning about the ribbon cable!
(In this case it was son+cola ice cream+controller= internally caramelised buttons....)

Thank you. Had a drifting right controller and non working down D pad. I told my daughter I figured a 3% chance I fixed it. Works perfect now. I used electrical cleaner though.

hello I see u used flux so I have it but its color is not all white and it is in a jar not a tube so should I use it and instead of a heat gun can I use hair dryer because i have to do it fast in like 1 or 2 days

As someone who doesn't have patience sometimes,it's annoying to connect the LED light plug part so my fingers twitch whenever I'm having problems doing it

my L2 stick makes my r stick do this
also L stick is that box with a crosshair that moves the R stick is what you looking at the z axis and rotation is your r stick while the x and y rotation is your L and R2 buttons
if you want to see this in action i suggest you try DS4

Instructions unclear on the part with the touchpad, I tried fixing my vibration things and the part for the touchpad that feeds through that bracket is removed and I can’t get it back on

Well it wasn't working for me so I kinda just like ripped open the controller from the bottom and well turns out I have good grip strength

I got a brand new one with a broken left stick for my birthday :/

Can i just say, iso alcohol tends to wear down the metal conductors in the springs. There wasn't residue btw. Thats the white from rubbing and wearing. The nodes need replacing every 7 months on average IF u play first person shooters alot.
