First off, great build. As purple is my favorite color, I'm definitely a fan of some of your color choices. One recommendation I have for you is about the batteries. I'm in a band, so a number of my wireless gear uses AA and 9v batteries and I've started using the PaleBlue lithium rechargeable batteries. They are awesome, inexpensive and have saved me SO much in batteries. They come in the most common sizes.

You seem to have everything you need in that van except a shower,by the way where you are at that's so beautiful, and for how long can you stay

Spray paint by Rustoleum adheres really well to plastic.

You can cover your organizer with contact paper if painting it gets old..lol❤

Autumn, thank you so much for this video. You spent a lot of time and effort to show us everything. I think your home is AMAZING! ( I have the same peacock scarf bought many years ago as well as decorative boxes! ) You have given me new ideas to use them with this video. Some of my favs: using plywood then covering with decorative cover paper or using rugs, and then the plexiglass over them. And the drawer for clothes that you can wear again but not to put with your clean clothes (this replaces the chair in my bedroom, lol!) I love the colors you use and how they come together to make one overall peaceful beautiful decor. The night mode transition was really cool. I see all the work you have done, and I admire all of it! And I admire you! You give 100% , and you live life fully. I know you have your share of roadblocks in life, but I really like the way you exist within the chaos of life. Yes life is beautiful. You and Chloe are so fortunate to have each other. 🥰 Have an awesome trip to Alaska whenever you go 🥰 Looking forward to all the future videos!

Your inventive use of two by fours in one by twos and carpets with plexi was fascinating! I have a question about night mode: are you ever interested in seeing outside like with a motion light and camera? I’m looking forward to the video where you go from your two bedroom to a car. At 70 with a three bedroom house full I’m eager to purge and try—if not full time—some van camping. Finally I would like to know if before it died, you preferred your standup camper! Thank you so much. I feel like I’ve got so much to learn. ❤ Also there are a lot of great sealers you can put on your paint to protect it from scuffs. I don’t have a brand to recommend just look for topcoat sealers. They come in matte, satin, and gloss.

Someone told me never cut phone that it contains fiberglass. Anyone have thoughts on this or how to find out which kind is safe and which kind is not

I have some kind of glitch in my tablet where I'll be typing away and suddenly everything disappears. There's no interim save in comments like in Word or Excel. I had this long comment full of very pithy and important info (surely!) But its gone. I'll shorten to "I'm obsessed with your van setup!!!". I also have GC and I can fit about 1/3 into it as what you have. After Alaska maybe you could lead a Meet Up and have workshops on how you did some of your projects. I can't quite get the overview. I'll watch about 5 more times. You are so creative! I've changed my setup in this van (my 2nd GC) 3-4 times and I'm still not happy. I hope your trip is all you are hoping for and I am excited to read about it.

I love your van...if I ever live in a minivan...I would want it to look like this :) organize better by putting like things with like things. example: putting all your food together. plus...if you put your poop bags in a metal coffee can with some coffee in the bottom, it will take care of the smell. All you will smell is coffee :)

One lady made her seat holes into her freezer and refrigerator. She lined it with insulation and she freezes thin ice packs and she uses them then refreezes she has enough ice packs to be able to put in and tske out.. cool idea

Are there differences
In the quality of what people pick for their minivan campers, sure. But the important thing is getting out there. A breakdown here or there is relatively insignificant. Just carry plenty of water.

Hi Everyone! Thank you all SO much for your comments and for being excited with us! I’ve already read through several great ideas to add for safety and function (tire repair kit and small car vacuum). Any other ideas that we didn’t share in the video that would be great for Alaska preparation?

We’ll be leaving Alaska by September, so we won’t be hitting the freezing cold months there… not this time around. Another dream of mine is to spend a winter nomading around Alaska, but I’ll need a different nomadic set up for that.

To answer a few questions I’ve seen from several folks: We do have a spare tire. In the Dodge Grand Caravan, they are positioned underneath the vehicle in the center… a little tricky to access, but there is a mechanism to make it drop down from the counsel.

And thank you to all of those who have sent love to Chloe! She is the best traveling companion and I am so blessed to have her. She is a McNabb Cattle Dog. I adopted her from the humane society, in fact, we just celebrated our two year adoptionversary!

Also, big thanks to those who have suggested things to make the paint stick. Once we settle in Alaska for a bit, I am going to apply some of these.
