Lynne Whelden promotes "Lightweight Backpacking Secrets Revealed" on TV

The TV station that fired me in 1987 invited me back again in 1997 to talk about my recent completion of the Pacific Crest (not "Coast"... but I didn't want to embarrass John on-air so I let it go) Trail. My pack weight was around 20 pounds. I did the 2600 miles in 106 days, thus proving that lightweight is the way to go.
"Newsmakers" was a public affairs show WBRE did to fulfill its programming obligations to the FCC.
