I'm currently using password managers, but I didn't always. Instead, I had a password management system, using Google Docs, and obfuscating the logins stored. I still construct my own passwords, but I retired my old system of managing them, and let the professionals do that part for me. Bitwarden and Zoho Vault are very good choices for browser extensions, and KeepassXC for local storage of credentials.

I am assuming that the entire password database is encrypted using the master password. What stops the password manager app to leak master password to outside world ? Where is the master password stored ?

I notice in the PW manager, your passwords are dots (hidden). If you've forgotten your password, how are you meant to be able to read it?

The more I learn about this PW manager the less I like it....I would consider it "only" if I could keep my current pass words and not have any site change them...

So the password manager has very strong and complex password, which allows me to access all the other passwords as needed. Why is it better than using the same very strong complex password for all my accounts?
I have a filling that if someone breaks my manager’s master password he has access to everything.

Will any password managers save a password without asking me to save it.

I have been using 1Pasword for the last year, (highly recommended), you can open the vault and "view in large type" the required password and each character is numbered. All my passwords are at least 16 characters long.

There are many loose ends even with a password manager like how reliable the app is? Is it secure enough? What if device is destroyed? Are there backdoors? Ultimately, to keep your stuff safe, it takes a mindset, not some fancy tool is like a black box which you fully not aware what's it doing behind the scenes. A intelligent person never trust such apps and do everything by himself.

When using Bitwarden, is it better to use a desktop app or a browser extension?

This sounds like another case of sacrificing safety for convenience. Taking all your passwords and putting them in a single place behind ONE master password? What is there to protect the master password? I know i'm probably missing something that makes this ultra safe, but IDk lol. Appreciate the video

Some questions:
1. I assume you want this take over browser password storage, but does it function to auto populate credential fields? That appears to be the case in the video but I just wanted to confirm.
2. Presumably this works across all of a person's devices?
3. Is there such a thing as a physical password manager that I could plug and play with the same functionality?
4. Related to the last question, seems like password managers would be a target for hackers and governments. How secure are these platforms?

Why did you switch from Dashlane to 1Password?

Just a thought 1. The one that provides that password manager service can also access to all yours. 2. What if hackers can hack into your password manager vault and all the rest of your password? :)

Maybe I am missing something but how is this any different to what I have now which is a document with all my passwords in one location that is password protected by one main password? If the main password is compromised then every other password is too?
