The saltwater update is finally here! I've been getting requests for an update on everything since I posted the original video a year ago. I'm really excited to share the progress and hope you all enjoy it. Have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
ОтветитьBlue tang
ОтветитьYou need an octopus.
ОтветитьGreat setup for tank
ОтветитьMaybe you should add a sail fin tang
You made a lot of mistakes but I’m impressed
This makes me want to get my own aquarium
ОтветитьCan you add some sea horse to the tank?
ОтветитьBEAUTIFUL :)
THANK YOU FOR SHARING :)
THANK YOU FROM ISRAEL :)
Your tank look nice. Great job on your first saltwater system. Keep up the good work
ОтветитьOoh I'd love to see you do a macroalgae tank. I'm long-term very very curious if it's possible to do cheaper, low(er)-tech saltwater tanks on something like the planted tank model by combining macroalgae, corals, etc. etc.
Ответитьyou need a glass lid
ОтветитьPerc clowns normally love hammer coral. Great combo
Ответитьgorgeous! I agree with you! Movement!
Ответитьmy friend has a saltwater aquarium, and it smells like the beach, which I'm not fond of. are all saltwater aquariums smells?
ОтветитьIt looks more appealing to the eye than a lot of other reef tanks I've seen. I wish there were more saltwater tanks that applied aquascaping like this. I can't wait to see how you'll apply your knowledge from aquascaping in freshwater to this new medium. I think you will create some truly unique enviornments.
ОтветитьCan't wait for more salt water content! I have dived lots of fresh and saltwater and they are both great but coral is just not nothing like anything else.
ОтветитьLove seeing this 12 month update! Looks incredible. The arrow crab looks like the demogorgon from Stranger Things. Maybe a name idea? Gorgon?
Also would love to see more varieties of fish. As a scuba diver one of my favorite things to see is the active community of different species hard at work in their community.
My favorites: blue tang, yellow tang, nigel triggerfish, and royal gamma
My fav are the invertebrates as well. I’d be happy with anemones and invertebrates only. Wonderful tank - great job!
ОтветитьI think you have some really nice beginner and underrated softy’s in there I assume you will probably someday go with more saltwater tanks in the future. I think you may enjoy doing more species specific tanks like a clownfish nem tank and/or an algae cuddle fish tank.
ОтветитьYou can add a clam
ОтветитьI am in awe….the inspiring talent and dedication to the care of these animals is incredible!!!
ОтветитьWhat a good book or playlist to learn about keeping a long term marine aquarium?
ОтветитьHi Tanner, your salt water tank is beautiful. I bet your wife loves it. Will you please do a complete update of the animal room and all of the inhabitants? We would like to see how everyone is doing. Thanks Tanner.
ОтветитьYou should definitely get some nassasarius snails they’re awesome. Also try zoanthids again or palythoas they grow and cover rocks really well. And add so much color!
Mushrooms were my jam I had 10 different varieties and they were some of my favorite corals.
You should get a tang! They're great algae eaters and your tank is big enough for them plus you can feed them nori!❤
Ответитьpulsing xenia on top
ОтветитьHow about a seahorse 😊
ОтветитьAbsolutely beautiful. ❤
ОтветитьYou need super high flow for Acros, so try to put them next to the powerheads in your tank
ОтветитьI'm so glad you include your mistakes and what you would do differently. It's good for people who are interested in starting but feel like they're not good enough. We can always learn! Even Tanner still messes up 😅❤
Everybody in there looks so beautiful!
love the video but the anemone getting drilled by the powerhead at the end was lowkey hilarious.
ОтветитьVideo 1 of getting tanner to do a 200$ build
ОтветитьVery cool. You've made me pine for my reef aquarium days.
ОтветитьAwesome salter water build, Tanner! Well done with success even with some setbacks. I love anemones, if I did a build I'd go crazy like you did, given a younger age and larger bachelor suite.
ОтветитьI also want to make like this vivarium
ОтветитьI would like to suggest a royal gramma because they are really hardy and pretty peaceful and they also look amazing.
Ответитьif NileRed studied Botany
Ответитьcan you add some starfish in it? amazing set up btw. 🫡🫡
Ответить🙋🏻♀️I have a question, if I may…
I’m doing my first custom build for my bearded dragon. Can I use acrylic paint to tint drylock? Thanks in advance!!!
Wow, the pulsing coral is beautiful!!!!
ОтветитьWith all those perfect perches, a Hawkfish would be an awesome addition!
ОтветитьYou should make a cephalopod enclosure
ОтветитьI get it that you love the GSP, and pulsing xenia, but I am telling you from experience, get them out of there and put them in their own tank. A 1-year-old reef aquarium is still in its adolescence and has a few more years to go before it can truly become an established ecosystem. I had a 120 gallon for over 15 years, and it really didn't become stable until year 3 but when it did it was a beautiful centerpiece of my home. As for your lid situation, toss that plastic in the trash and go to Home Depot and get an aluminum window screen frame and order 1/4" spacing acrylic netting and some glass lip clips for your glass size (available at a lot of online aquarium retailers, I got mine at Marine Depot); this will allow proper oxygen exchange on the water surface and allow your light to pass through without issues.
ОтветитьHow about a long coast to reef setup one side with macro algae and other with corals anemones ,etc
Ответитьwhy dont you say the prices of everything then the final cost, im sure people would be intrested
Ответить@serpadesign look into the mandarin goby.
They are extremely hardy and easily one of the most beautiful/peaceful fish you can add to your tank. The only downside to them and reason they don’t always do well is the general requirement of SO many copepods.
Copepods are their main source of food, biota and a few other places sell them trained to eat frozen mysis(just significantly more expensive).
Royal Gramma is a fantastic personality I would HIGHLY suggest getting one 😀 they are very reef safe and peaceful :) they like to swim upside down of shelf rocks. Great little fish!
ОтветитьFair warning, arrow crabs are not safe with any fish they could potentially catch and eat
Ответитьsomething i've wondered for a long time now is, how difficult it would be to turn a saltwater fish into a freshwater fish. Like is it possible to play God and force a saltwater fish to evolve to in order to thrive in freshwater.
Ответитьgreat video! thanks for all you do. You're great at your job!
