I’ve had one of these, it was very slow and extremely bouncy on rough roads, but it was ok, only get the minimum gls but they don’t call them Shitons for nothing
ОтветитьWhat's a catch can???
ОтветитьThe head lights definitely suck, I can hardly see anything, I'll be getting a spot light eventually
ОтветитьReading through the cheat sheet page I noticed you have listed all of the manual models to be rear wheel drive which has to be a typo as I was sure I looked at some that were manual with four wheel drive. Is this correct?
ОтветитьMy triton MQ is now 207k. Still perfect condition and no complaint except the brake master which failed all of the sudden (triton was 198K that time). But actually, I suspected that it was problem when my triton was only 20k. There when I failed to stop suddenly and hit a car who stopped on yellow light. I did not taught about it. Honestly, this ute never gives me a headache.
ОтветитьBeen driving manual recently for work, biggest issue is lack of bottom end torque there is nothing under 2000rpm. Keep changing up to 3rd around 30-35kmh then back to 2nd as there isn't anything there. Found 40mkh is about right for 3rd and never use 4th in 50kmhr zone. Drove Hilux 3.0T manual regularly few years ago and don't remember having these issue, just better spread of power.
Once hit power band then plenty of getup and go.
With auto probably wouldn't notice the narrow powerband.
I am from the UK so could somebody please tell me what catch can is , what does it do and is it an Austrailian thing ?
ОтветитьThe 2005ish L200s were really popular in Romania because they can survive the potholes
ОтветитьI'm in my 50's and have been driving Toyota Landcruisers my whole life. Bought a brand new Triton 8 years ago. Best truck I've ever had. The motor is bullet proof.. 215km on the clock & still goes like the clappers.. Toyota is over priced in my opinion - you're paying for the name - A name established by the old HJ47's (which I owned new in the early 80's).. Triton is establishing it's reputation right now - in another 20 years they'll probably be paying too much for them as well.. so I'll switch again - if I'm still around - he,he,he..
ОтветитьHow is the challenger
ОтветитьWould you recommend the Mitsubishi challenger over this?
ОтветитьI think you missed that old mates MN is prone to engine failure due to a casting issue... Ive got an ML 3.2D pov pack single cab and consider it the best work ute ive ever had
Ответить...or Fiat Fullback :)
ОтветитьI owned a triton, loved it, but the red paint was absolute rubbish. It would powder off on your finger, an easy thing to test. Also the turbo lag is downright scarily bad around town especially.
Ответить12 mins and everything EXCEPT off-road capability is covered. Lols. Is this what we've come to as a species? Like, yeah, cup holders over 4WL hahaha.
ОтветитьAlong with Super Select II, completely dismissed the fact that irs lighter than its competition which forfeits the lower torque output. I really like the channel but makes you wonder what thwyre leaving out of other reviews. Quality control needed here it seems.
ОтветитьWhy doesn't the factory add a catch canto these if it needs to have a catch can? 🤔
ОтветитьWhat is a catch can???
Ответитьit's been around for years so the have found out all the issues and sorted them ,
ОтветитьHad my 2013 since new. 170000km's on the clock. To be honest I treat it like shit. Been everywhere, carried a lot...including tubs full of crusher dust and fill. Take it camping at great hidden away beach camps. These cars are great. Pretty stock except for bigger wheels and off road tyres. I've rusted out one ARB bull bar and replaced it but the triton is rock solid. It looks a bit rough but mechanically I have never had an issue with it. And I'm hard on cars. If it goes as good as it does after 10 years with me I'd buy one again tomorrow. Not that I will cause I'm not getting rid of this one. My wife keeps telling me to get a new dual cab. She has even released the funds but I'm not doing it. I'll keep this one. I did look at a 2022 model triton, even had 16k offered as a trade in on mine (crazy) but nope. Much cheaper to replace the engine and gearbox if they go, then spend 60k on a new car. And I love driving the triton. It is so comfortable. If....and when I do have to replace the old girl (ute. Not the wife.....well maybe...) I'll keep this one to do the work and take the dogs to the beach and I'll buy another triton hopefully. Just hoping the new 2023 onward models live up to the namesake.
Ответить2016 model, 140k - love it. Serviced every 10k, no rattles, no engine issues, a little road noise on ATs, great handling, awesome in soft sand, interior is always dusty, infotainment screen is not bright enough, piano black scratches real easy, love the full time 4wd, narrow body is awesome on tight bush tracks, seat covers for extra padding, window switch area gathers dirt, door seals a bit sticky, had loose door hinge bolts once, otherwise faultless. Great car
ОтветитьWhats a catch can?
ОтветитьYou forgot to talk about tow ratings. These thing tow fantastic
ОтветитьPlease review the Mzda BT50!
ОтветитьWhat wheels are they?
Ответитьwish I can afford to buy one ute like that sometimes in the future
ОтветитьOff topic
Huh Duh Quarter Hungeos by old mate SENN
The modern day Ford seems like junk and Ford doesn't want to support their customers. How sad. FORD always did stand for Found On Rubbish Dump. Somethings never change. I'm buying a TRITON!
ОтветитьGood vid, I bought my MQ new in 2016, added a K&N air filter ,lift kit ,bigger tyres ,bull bar etc and have never been happier with a car. Decided against trading up as this thing still drives like new .Now service it myself as it is easy as, even brakes are easy to do. Great car love it.
Ответить4D56 has a common overheating problem due to manufacturing defect. Just don’t buy them.
ОтветитьAnyone with an idea who manufactures that type of nudgebar in Australia??
ОтветитьDidn't anyone have Neutral Inhibitor Switch issues on the autos? 😲
ОтветитьMy 2016 exceed has courtesy 1min lights to allow you to get inside in the dark. Simply turn your lights on once you shut off the engine and they will remain on for 1min and automatically turn off. Sometimes i stumbled upon and wasn't aware off. Great truck no problems.
Ответить2.5 4D56 turbo Diesel engine has a common over heating issue due to manufacturing defect. Mitsubishi didn’t recall all the triton and check and replace the engine block with the issue. What they did is a campaign to “cover it up” and delay the showing of the problem. I bought a 2nd hand mn triton(10yr old). And unluckily after 4 month the engine start over heating. I have an old 2005 triton Ute with 4g64 engine. Bought it at 10 year old with 150k on the clock. Now it is about 320k and 17 years old. It never missed a beat and other than normal wear and tear the engine is so reliable and that is why I trusted Mitsubishi and bought the mn triton. But it seems to me, Mitsubishi was doing the same thing as what takata air bag did by covering up the issue instead of correcting them properly. So if you are thinking of buying a second hand triton with 4d56 engine, be careful.
ОтветитьNeed a Collarado video!
ОтветитьI have a 2018 Blackline and to be honest, its been really good. I have modded it with canopy, bigger fuel tank, better tyres. I get around the 11-12 l/100. Brilliant on road, and although it hasn't been off road to much, it is extremely comfortable even on long trips which i have done plenty of thus the long range tank. I don't have a catch can, but it is serviced every 10,000kms and every service has seen a fit and healthy result. Personally, im very happy with it and would recommend it. No, it doesn't come with all the tech goodies that the MR has, but to be honest, im not interested in a car that has more bells going off every minutes anyways.
ОтветитьWas after a new ute for a while. Could not justify the 70k price in nz for a new dmax xterrain. I stumbled across a gls recently 48000km for $42000 nzd I bought it because i wanted a basic 4x4. Dont regret it. Everything i want from a 4x4 and nothing i dont. Perfect. Super select 2 android auto nothing beeping at you everytime you drive it. Daily driving 600km a week more then comfortable on road with the occasional weekend light off roading. Absoloutely stoked and plenty of money left over for mods.
Ответитьnothing says "i dropped out of high school wear a flouro vest have no manners & pull Cones" like a Triton made in lady-boy land
ОтветитьYes Mitsubishi is the best and the oldest japanese car
ОтветитьJust got my 2018 GLX+ few weeks ago, after owning several Commodore Sports wagons. Loving it. Living in Adelaide hills I am surprised how much it loves been tossed in to the corner, and effortlessly pulls itself up the steepest incline. However thought it jittery as hell over bumps. Wacked a cheap set of drawers in the back (has a canopy) weighing 70kg and huge improvement. Seems to reduced is bouncing for want of a better word.
Ответитьyes Mitsubishi is best japanese car the jet aircraft fighter manufacturer
ОтветитьWhat is the problem with airbags in the Triton?
ОтветитьI have had MQ16 GLS from New, great ute. Absolutely love it, have done 13200k's no problems so far. Fit a catch can from new & a idrive throttle control. Only problem is the cost of dealer servicing when you run out warranty, last service they charged me $900.
ОтветитьMy father owns a 2016 Mitsubishi L200 sportero (what triton is called in Sri Lanka) it's now coming close to the 200,000km mark and it's still running like it's brand new... love this machine❤
ОтветитьPlz do the Pajero sport
ОтветитьHave owned my MQ from new. This review confirms what I thought at purchase. A bargain, could not justify the extra 20k for a ranger/Amarok/Hilux. Great review. Have had no probs at all. Canopy fitted, roof racks(4) kayak carriers , rear draws and loads camping equip. I average 9.5L/100 , so pretty good considering. Agree the headlights are not as good as I thought they might be. I dont have a catch can, will go research it now...
ОтветитьI don’t get this whole series, should you buy a used Triton, if it’s done 500,000 kms and is a bucket of shit then no. If it’s got 20,000 and immaculate of course you’d buy it.
ОтветитьWoah HDMI inputs? What for
ОтветитьIts worth getting the inlet manifold cleaned out and egr delete plus the ecu tune for more power, i did to my 2017 mq gls for $2700 and its allround much better and is not slow anymore
ОтветитьGreat review, always great to hear it from guys who know. Re the catch can, I fitted one at 40k will I have to worry about what's already in the intake? Should I clean it, use a cleaner spray?
Ответить
