Damn, just when you think the "scientific" explanation couldn't get any more pseudo-scientific and muddy he throws in the "quantum" buzzword. Facepalm.
ОтветитьFor me there's no1 in this world as motivating than Elliott Hulse.
Ответитьincredible man Eliot, we need more people like you
ОтветитьMan you are a real philosopher!
ОтветитьI have been dealing with depression since adolescence and I am now in my mid 40's. My 20's were the absolute low point of life and things really never even started to improve until the early 30's. Somehow I managed to get through college and even grad school but I was using my studies as almost a bad coping mechanism if you will. With treatment I am at a point now where I go long periods without depression but I also recognize that cycles of low mood come every so often--right around late October/early November is rough in that the amount of daylight dwindles and the time change doesn't help either (as I write this on the evening we push the clocks back an hour). Finding support not only through doctors and therapists but community is very important...that community can be a social group you belong to, a singles group, church , etc. Maybe just a group of friends you confide in. Also make sure you are tested for any medical causes especially issues with thyroid, sleep, etc. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 2.5 years ago and since starting on the CPAP machine, it has reduced my symptoms tremendously.
ОтветитьDepression... How it's come into it's own these last few decades. I treat my depression as a life experience, as it should be treated. I welcome the dark moments in this life and praise them for the catalyst that they are. Without them showing us the bad how could we ever appreciate the good?
ОтветитьIt is interesting to see you thinking almost identical on some topics. I think it is due to our (honest) interpretation of suffering. I learned a lot from you or got quite a bit of security in my thoughts because of your videos. Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьI love these old videos! I love that you care both about your body and mind! The yin and yang
ОтветитьI had medical depression. My wife left me my dad dies and I lost my career. I grew so much and got off meds. You have to guard your mind. Hopefully never again but if I do I'll know what to do.
ОтветитьI fucking hate these people Elliot talks about that believe whatever the media tells them like about depression is a medical thing and perminant and women and men are equal and all of those media things
ОтветитьThank u for the words. Depression is a terror, but ultimately you will understand the change u need to make on ur life to be free. Exercising, reading, singing, caring, crying. We have to discover who we are.
ОтветитьI took Medicinal chemistry in Uni and I was wonder why the Universe prefer disorders
Now it makes sense, thanks Elliot
Wen you learn hoo you are nothing can break you down
Ответить"Man cannot remake himself without suffering for he is both the marble and the sculptor."
ОтветитьI don't think Depression makes everyone stronger because some people never escape it. Normal life and situational depression can make you stronger but the lifelong depression that can't be escaped is just a premature death.
ОтветитьFunny enough but i feel like i have come out of a 2 year depression due to nofap. Sounds silly but for the last 2 weeks i finally feel normal. Little to no depressive thoughts that also goes for social anxiety.. i used to be tired all day everyday, upset with my life, almost everything mad me angry and now its just kinda disappeared. Now its time to work on myself. This is not a guarantee for to cure someone struggling but i think its definatly worth a try.
Ответить"Depression is not only normal, it's essential, and be grateful for it." Excuse me, what the fuck?
Do not misconstrue depression as something "normal", and for fuck's sake, definitely not "essential." This is a medical illness - sometimes lifelong - that's destroyed many people's lives and led some to suicide, so do not trivialize its severity by painting it as something "normal" or "essential." Don't tell people to be "grateful" for something that's ruining their lives. And a change in perspective - seeing depression as an obstacle to overcome, an opportunity to grow stronger from - sounds nice, but very rarely that easy. Obviously, I'm not saying people should remain stuck in their negative feedback loops of suffering, but helping such people needs to come from a genuine place of empathy and understanding, listening fully and being nonjudgmental, as well as medication, therapy, support from loved ones. None of this trivializing, just-change-your-perspective BS.
Look man, I think you're a good guy and you just wanted to help, but this is a very sensitive issue, and the way you phrased that was very bad.
''depression is normal''
Yep I'm done lmao
Thankyou Elliott. I found your videos about 6 months ago and can’t put into words the perspective and growth I’ve seen in my own life since then. I am grateful for all the content you share with the world and wish you the very best my friend
Ответить“We eat and we shit” – Ellliott
ОтветитьPhilosopher, teach us....
"We eat, we shit..."
.... brilliant....LOL
For a while I was able to be in good mental health despite having no social life but suddenly a week ago the panic and anxiety began surging again, for seemingly no reason. I really hate it. It makes my head hurt, makes my blood run cold, and I start sweating and panicking. It comes down to feeling satisfied with your life and future, it can be very difficult to unlearn panic patterns.
ОтветитьDude you're channel is awesome
ОтветитьWatching this in 2019. Awesome video. YO Elliott.
ОтветитьThis nigga be on something that gives him confidence.
ОтветитьI see depression as a sign of wisdom and maturity.
ОтветитьYou are right when you say that depression is normal, i ve read this in a medical book i have here at home. But MDD is a big issue and many times doctors dont care about differentials(taking sun, sleeping, reading, exercising). I have to take a lot of antidepressants due to OCD and ASD/Aspergers, but that is just one case — i also rule out differentials.
ОтветитьThank you! Powerful quotes!
ОтветитьFucking good resumee
ОтветитьYou’re a fucking genius.
ОтветитьThis video helped me so much Elliott , and it is still helping me 😭☺️😄
Ответить3 years ago I watched this video helped me in getting perspective today I m back to recommend it to a friend
ОтветитьBoom, elliot just shed light on something western medicine capitalizes on that should be dealt with on a spiritual level. Done
ОтветитьIf you are depressed you are a prisoner of your past. When you become present and excited about your future your life changes
Ответитьthis man speaks facts
ОтветитьWhat was the second book that Elliott was reading from?
ОтветитьYES! Amen bro! it’s seasonal, it comes and goes like night and day, winter and summer, anabolic from or to catabolic. Great work man! GREAT WORK! young Elliott already telling it how it is.
ОтветитьDoes anyone remember this version of Elliot? I wonder what he would say today. I still enjoy some of his recent content, but he is not expressing from the heart in the same way. Wonder if anyone comes back to these old videos
ОтветитьWe’ve got a saying in Greece. Without storms there is no odyssey
Ответитьwhat is the name of the book? I read "managing extraordinary growth" but I can't find it with that. Great video, thank you!!
ОтветитьI'm going through severe amount of stress tryna cash out 100k a month then scale it to 600k I work all day I sleep only 4 hours each night sometimes I say this is it my heart is gonna F shutdown. Fam members are telling me you look like you came out from the cemetery, but I know this is the price I must pay to become a billionaire in the next 35 years. (I have strong why don't ask.) There's a quote that I like and it goes like this : "I CAN BEAR ANY PAIN AS LONG AS IT HAS MEANING"
ОтветитьYou’re incredibly wise and I’m coming back after my 24th birthday to say that you helped to shape me as a man. Thank you.
