I was there, third world looking city. As soon as you step out of the station you have the idea that you are some country in the Middle East, filthy streets, trash every where, homeless people, very sad.

This was the most confusing train station I have ever been to. I had to transfer from Gare de Lyon to Gare du Nord. I had one hour and I managed to miss my train. Thankfully they put me on the next one.....but it was an experience.

Arrived in Gare du Nord via train from Amsterdam to see Paris for the first time. There was a terrorist attack when I got there and I couldn't get to my taxi, because the roads were closed and barricaded by military and police. Incredibly scary and crazy experience for me as a foreigner to France. Basically was stranded there for hours.
