Seeing how the YT gods delivered you to me, and that the last review was over a year ago, I feel inclined to do something I don't normally do, which is to leave a review. Thanks for the video. However i dont think you are right. I have a home with over 10 cameras, maybe even 20.I make sure each camera have the light to always when needed make a good enough light to have 100% colour. So in combination with cameras, i adjust lights depending on condition. When its bad weather all my lights are always 100%, when its good conditions they dim to about 70-80%, making sure i always have a good picture. I use HikVistion, that you did not include in the test. i have 4k hik vision that cost me about 160 euro that out perform my axis 720P camera i paied about 800 euro for, in face the Axis is replaced permanently. I donated it to my parents. There is also motion detection features, line crossing.If you use a brand like Axis, how much would that software cost compaired to HikVistion ?

I may pay more for electricity doing my way but i am sure my 4k hikvision berformce better than a 4x the price axis at 720p. but in the end its better to pay for lights rather than a better camera....

If you like to automate lights you can use home assistant that i am using. Its still not 100% but will get there

Great video. I wonder if it may make since to have different multiple cameras in a system. Each location has it's unique risks and thus choose a camera that has best performance in that situation. Ie front door (close view). driveway to street ( more distant view),

You have the best security camera YT channel. Most others don't know what they are talking about, or they are trying to get viewers to buy.

I just bought the 4k cobra system with 2 cameras from harbor freight but notice when a car goes by at about 15-30 yards the vehicle jerk across the screen but when I pause the playback its way better but at night I have all kinds of white speckle and bugs all gave tracers behind them. My question is, can I just upgrade the camera to one that take the ethernet cable and improve all this?

Is the Reolink still your recommendation for best value? Would it be a good pick for a virtual window in a windowless basement office?

The fact that all of them needs to be wired or got wires hanging is a turn off. For some reason, I'm beginning to hate wires lately, I don't know why😅

As someone who manages a couple camera systems for a living, I can tell you Axis cameras are by far the best cameras out there, not only for image quality but just camera life. Most other brands start having issues after a few years, but the majority of Axis cameras we’ve commissioned in the past 10 years still work as well as they did on day 1.

do you have a review on Cellular security camera? have a gate 1/4 mile from the house so wifi camera isn't an option.

Has anyone tried the RLC-823A?

Setting up a new camera system. I have a long driveway that has a fence running down the entire 150 ft. I was thinking of running a POE down the fence line and plare a camera near the end facing the entry to the drive way and would like to be able to grab the license plate of the cars that pull into the driveway. The camera would be about 24Ft to the middle of the drive from the fence line. It would be discrete so I would not want any lights visible on it other than infra-red. Any thoughts as to the best camera for such a thing? it would not be used for anything else I would have other cameras covering the exterior of the house.

there are so many thousands of cameras on the market. it was easier researching and planning a 1 month trip to Asia which involved stays in 9 different countries than it has been picking out a single camera for my Synology NAS... :-/

If you can afford it, I'd recommend AXIS cameras as they're extremely durable and very reliable. They're trusted by the U.S., Canada, Germany, the UK, and France's federal governments for a reason.

A brilliant and useful review presented in a professional manner. What I cannot believe is how appalling the performance of all the cameras featured was; not a single one representative of the 21st century. Watching those old Charlie Chaplin movies, the frame rate may have been poor, but you could zoom in on an individual frame to pick out clear details. Wish I could say the same for these "modern" security cameras.
