I had adobe subscribed through an old PAYPAL. When I wanted to cancel and they said i had to pay to cancel I just deleted my paypal account. Nothing happened. Dont even do the cancel contract thing. just dont pay the sub fee (this might be better if you wanna ever come back witht the same account) they'll just put your photoshop account on hold indefinitely until its paid. they never tried to contact me or anything. just dont pay it, you'll be fine.

So sad, I have enabled monthly plan as teacher in order to experiment some features with generative AI while it was in beta. Now I see that is good enough to be used and wanted to switch to annual plan, but it requires 95$ cancellation, and of course to get the new subscription. Quiet unfair, I will just try not to fill my card with money and to wait until they will cancel the subscription (guess will get few months for free).

Adobe pioneered the pay wall model that Apple and now almost all other companies are adopting. I have personally purchased many versions of the Adobe Suite. Now I’m forced to the cloud because my operating system was updated. Shame on Adobe for their greed and failure to support artists.

Never again with Adobe!!! With their auto renewal bs that cannot be turned off. I was auto-charged a full year because I accidentally updated an expired credit card info, and could not get a refund. They switched my membership to month-to-month and then I found out after the 14 days there was an $80 fee to cancel. So, then I got them to pause the membership at least for 3 months ... this went on for hours trying to undrestand their terms and conditions. Such a poor customer experience. I feel so ripped off! Such scammers.

The hidden cancelation fees really drive a wedge between me and any future adobe purchases. It would be one thing if it was clear from the get go that there was an annual membership that has a 14 day cancel notice. "30 day free trial"

Brad… nobody knows the ‘games’ ADOBE plays better than I and it’s not just the whole ‘cancel fee’ scam … they will literally play all sorts of games and I have the screenshots to prove what I’m saying. Those call centres are CON CENTERS they will change price if they think you will leave and then hike it back up … I’ve been in this hole as a design / marketing biz. Right now I’ve spent over 24 hours on chat, Twitter to untangle another scam … if I don’t get a satisfactory response by this time tomorrow I will spend that time blowing them up on every platform I can find … I’m sick of it how does a company this size operate year after year so sketchy? I honestly may do a collaboration run and sue them as I believe there are many others like myself wh have read and abided by their fine print and they still don’t honour their agreement.

Corporate profitability through legal trickery. They're not the only company that does this, but it's becoming more prevalent. I like how they always hide the terms until the very end, and it's always in the fine print on a separate link.

For many people like me - I use PS maybe once a week on the weekend to work on a few photos - the subscription model is just too expensive. If I was making money with it the full subscription would probably pay off and I would like to pay for it, but it's just not that way for I would guess 80% of the folks out there

I had to call the bank to fix this BS, I can't believe a company that big choose to adopt a borderline scam fake trial. I was willing to use their products for photography and videography, but I completely changed my mind.

As someone thats currently dealing with their BS policy i only got a 12.99 subscription for college and my subscription should end April 5th (its currently March 21st) and they still want to charge me 50% of the next 2 months to cancel

Premiere Pro performance sucks, still, in 2023... Audition has to be the worst daw for any type of audio professional (field recordists included), and illustrator and photoshop have changed workspaces every year it seems, so not really worth investing time to use or relearn if the apps will change after a single year of use (sometimes sooner). Competition is getting closer, for a lot less, including fonts and stock libraries... Only a matter of time.

I HATE the way Adobe charges ... you mentioned a monthly plan and a annual monthly plan? What is that all about ... Ive been paying for over a decade (I'm in this business) and I'm in Canada and they've been charging me around $75.00 CDN every month for all CC Apps ... but out of no where they discounted it after I bitched about it ... dropped it to about half and then a couple months later I get a notice today saying its going up again and will now be almost at $80.00 CDN!!! Oh and Adobe Stock will be up to $40.00!!! I HATE HOW I FEEL LIKE IM DEALING WITH A USED CAR SALESMAN anytime I talk to them about this crap... it feels like a scam and the service also is not great. Total BS!

If you have the annual plan for 54.99 just change that subscription to the lowest plan , that being said you will only pay for photoshop then when you change to that plan you can now cancel that subscription

Greedy company with decent products. Just faced this scam today. Will never use Adobe products ever again. They made an exception for me only first time. What a shady company. Charging people for not using their software. Who does that?

What if a person dies, in this case they cannot charge for it if it is a case of death.
I don't think they can go that way in a death case, especially if that person had siblings? Will relatives then pay for it?

The thing with the “annual paid monthly” situation is the best way to explain it is that it’s effectively a zero percent loan.

Like when you buy a phone or other expensive electric equipment you can choose to go on a payment plan or interest free loan.

And effectively that’s what this is you are “borrowing” £550 or whatever it is for the year or creative cloud from adobe and they let you pay it back every month with a bit of interest

We all have to get rid of the "cost optimization managers" or "controllers" worldwide. Avoiding wasting money – even a cleaner could see that – that's no problem, but squeezing out customers and also employee just for share-holders optimization is nothing else than street robbery.

This video is a year old but I saw it only today.
Well, one can see that conditions and price policity with different eyes. As you said, good software has it's costs for the work it needs. At the moment I can afford subscriptions and find it a good thing for both sides. As customer I have always an acutal version which can be important these days not for the new features but security too. Most computers are connected to the Internet today.
Canncelation fees I can understand too. It is basicly a bit more than the rabate you get for the one year committment. That's how I see it. With the academic Version it is another thing.

The high prices SHOULD come with good customer service BUT it doesn’t with Adobe. I’ve been using AdobeXd for about 2 months now and…it’s slow to open, it crashes, and it Freezes up while you’re working in it!!! Horrible UX, and they don’t seem to care. I’ve contacted tech support at least 10 times in 2 months and only 2 people of the 10 or so actually treated me like they wanted to solve the problems mentioned. The rest, get this, the rest either tried to blame me (the user), talked over me and provided misinformation, and after being transferred in-house picked up the call and HUNG UP without saying anything! OMG, why are you working in customer support/tech support, if you DON’T WANT to DO the job??!!! Net, net, I canceled everything Adobe today…Adobe is NOT to big to Fail!!!

I once saw a tweet about this. A guy wanted to cancel his plan but he was supposed to pay a lot of money. He contacted customer support and said he can’t afford it and barely uses the programs and the customer service tried to convince him first but after a while they gave in and cancelled his plan.

I live in Germany and i tried this as well. I said i’m a student and i can’t afford it anymore. And they cancelled my subscription without any cancellation fees.

They Lie, all over the net free Adobe Creative Cloud Free, even I was happy for few seconds, I can't afford it so I was over the moon thinking that with the free version one could although limited yet enjoy the program but is a Lie is not free, a seven-day Tutorial does not equal FREE, am I beeing unreasonable Brad?

The only reason I have yet to sign up for Adobe's services is their sketchy cancellation policy and practices. Absolutely ridiculous to be charging 50% cancellation fee.

I stop using Adobe since they started this madness. I'm conformable with $100/yr but not $55/m. Adobe is playing the monopoly game that Bitkeeper used to played and that provocation gave birth to git & Github.
I know we'll breakout again from this shackle...It's just a matter of time

I will admit I am very guilty of being one who no longer gives Adobe benefit of the doubt, but for me I don't so much see CC as unfinished as it is annoying. Not only am I at a far bigger security risk due to it being subscription based, nearly everything is a subscription and despite people not wanting it others pay into it because of the lack of choice which just creates this sort of death spiral where as much as we hate them, they're not going away. CC for me is too expensive, I want to pay the lump sum you used to be able to pay per piece of software, or the lump lum you used to have as an option for the Master Suite. It takes less than 2 years for CC to be more expensive than the original way to doing things, I'm very certain Adobe knew this and while I'll agree that people need to be paid for their work, frankly this new model is abusive to the consumer. It's no wonder people hate them now, they already get hate for the deal with Apple that has been a thing for at least a decade and a half. So for me, CC is a bust purely due to those reasons, give me back the 600-800 USD option for Premier I only want it but if I need to use it a lot I can't be assed with keeping track of a subscription or worrying I cannot work on my project over such a silly thing as the way they do their subscription, let alone the cancelation fees they charge are far higher than literally any other software subscription period.
