This is our first kind of video like this. Let us know if you like/dislike it and why, here in the comments. If you do like it, what kind of sights and sounds would help you stim and feel better? Thank you all!
ОтветитьI had an unusual way of stimming. I twiddled the content of a pillow, bolster or cushion when I was a kid. I think I sort of grew out of it, although there are private times, when I find myself twiddling the content of a cushion or pillow. Cotton was the content of my choice, and one that has seeds and stems still in the fillings were the most satisfying. 😁
ОтветитьThe asmr😭it’s perfect 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
For someone who likes sensory content and that’s good for my sensory input this is actually helpful 😮
I used to do this in reception(kindergarten ) I’m in uk so we call it reception ages 3-4
This helped me out of a meltdown and I can’t thank you enough for it.
ОтветитьHave are your boys feeling today ?
ОтветитьI hate ASMR but this made me happy. I would like to see more stuff like this :)
ОтветитьI love because its extremely satisfying and it makes me calm down
ОтветитьOy veyyy.
ОтветитьI love this video!!!! It helps me stay calm
ОтветитьHello! Nice channel.
How is your son in regards to the tardive dyskinesia issue? Is he cured?
I read that sometimes Abilify only masks the symptoms but over time they come back. Is he symptom-free in that aspect right now?
I don't usually like ASMR but this actually made me feel good! It was so soothing which I did not expect. I also LOVE the wind chimes you have at the end of your videos.
ОтветитьI have autism and normally I don’t really like ASMR but this sound is soothing and makes me want to just fill a container with rice and just feel it through my fingers
Ответить(warning, a VERY long post......for a reason)
The importance that your family keep posting is paramount. Sadly, it seems everyone that gets a diagnosis of Autism or ADHD feels a need to immediately start making videos with their “Expert Advice and Facts.” Totally lost is the concept and reality that every Autistic is unique. So right off, it makes most of the posters of such material very “self-serving” and basically “Full of it.” It is one thing to post on social media “things that has worked for you”, it another thing totally to be spouting off one’s “Expert Advice” as if all Autistics are a stereotype or “this works for me and will work for you!”.
Your family has always been an island of sanity where “reality” is the only subject matter. Your family and I have an interesting connection. By you producing video content that shows how your families Autism issues change and evolve, there is a very positive consequence. It is my presumptions that one of the multitude of questions parents face when their child is diagnosed with Autism is ; “What will the future be like for my child and for the family?” Your family diary type content can give hope that though there will be challenges, but not all will be dark.
Although I do not have children and must be an “observer” of families such as yours, I can make a similar contribution. I am sure you are wondering what will life be like for you Sons and will they have a fulfilling life as they become adults. “Does Autism change over time?” “Will life get better or more challenging?”
(I have communicated the following to you in the past)
I am 72 y/o and am Autistic with comorbidity of ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder. I am one of several “study subjects” being studied by a some colleges and universities. The study is a long term study as to how ASD (Autism) affects aging as we get into our Senior years, and on the flipside, how aging may affect Autism.
With your family sharing your experiences as your Sons grow, others may be comforted that there may better times ahead. Likewise, as the studies I am participating progress, others will find that things can be Okay. Autistic children do grow to be Autistic Teenagers, grow to be Autistic Adults, and grow to be Autistic Seniors.
Together we can hopefully take some of the mystery, stigma, and fears of the unknown and help Autistic Families move forward with hope. So yes, with the extremely over-saturation on social media and flooding of “Autistics” telling everyone their “facts, diagnosis, and THIS IS THE ONLY ANSWER”, your family has a very important place where people can peak inside a functioning Autism Family….No BS, No “This is will work for everyone.”
So please continue with the snapshots of your family facing all the good times and bad. There is an ever growing need to comfort and assure Autistic people and their families, “Autism is just a part of life.” “Autistics have opportunity, but we have to look forward with patience and optimism.”
I have autism and adhd and this sort of asmr noise from the rice is great for me to concentrate or to calm down if im really agitated :DD
ОтветитьWe have these little balls which get bigger with water. My autistic son loves to play with these. ❤ the video
ОтветитьI stim and I’m not diagnosed with autism but I wouldn’t be surprised if I have some sort of high functioning autism. I actually just got some news about a family member that is very upsetting and this video helped calm me down. So thank you!
Ответить@AutismFamilyChannel Very different Rob. I never realized that rice could help with Stim. Must be unique to feel the rice through the hands and fingers. The sound is unique as well. Kind of like a "White Noise" that I listen to when my mind is overloaded. Yuo, this is soothing! Thank you guys for sharing this! 😁👍😎🤗 💖
ОтветитьI love the sound, it's really satisfying
ОтветитьI understand what i should be doing. As someone on the spectrum that really dislikes rice and the feeling of it.
it puts me very much off. (sand would have the same effect on me)
I know I love putting my hands in a toad filled with lego and not building just stirring around and scooping. Its simulair yet senory friendly for me.
Well at least untill the sound gets me to much and i have to stop or put ear defenders on.
I like the idea of such vids, at the same time im not sure if 8 minutes would be ok for me. For ASMR maybe... but just to get across what it is and how it can played with 3 min tops i guess? but thats just me. i can skip or play at faster speed so...
don't know if there was any sound other than the rice (i had it on mute to not get itchy sorry) if there was i guess i would preffer it without any other sounds than just the regalur thing you are doing.
extra sounds would have made it very distracting for me if it was something i liked.
I like the video ❤😊
ОтветитьI have autism and I love this video keep up the all some work❤️.
ОтветитьIt’s like ASMR! Love it :)
ОтветитьHi family! It's very nice to see this. It makes me calm. Keep going with video's like this. I hope that everything is fine with you all and had a great Thanksgiving. A bug hug from the Netherlands. 🇳🇱😃❤️🇺🇲
ОтветитьGucke jetzt
ОтветитьAutistics are disabled? NTs are normal? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kids who have never had friends and kids who have never been bullied have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's strange and what's normal! This very place is neutral ground! Normalcy will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes normal!
ОтветитьHi, I’m mostly sensory avoidant and auditory ASMR isn’t for me at all. I made it 30 sec in the video before my whole body starts twitching 😅 I think ASMR exacerbates my misophonia 😅 I love visual ASMR, though.
I do think this is a great idea for videos! (Despite me not being able to watch it)
I sometimes used to do something like this with sand in the sandbox in the back yard after a stressful day at school.
ОтветитьHappy belated Thanksgiving my birthday next Sunday in December 3rd
ОтветитьI always loved playing with the rice bucket at my special education class room in elementary school, the sound, smell and feel is just incredible….great for anyone with neurodivergence and/or autism….thank you for making this, I usually hate ASMR, but rice is absolutely perfect! It’s tasty too
ОтветитьI really enjoy stimming and do it a lot so this helps me calm down when I feel there is too much sensory input. Also I can connect a lot to Connor in the way that he has a lot of qualities like me and they are good ones! I can relate as I have high-functioning autism as well.
ОтветитьI have autism and this video is making me sign because I love the sound of the rice.
ОтветитьI love seeing this family!
Ответить??????????????????
ОтветитьThat was awesome!! I'm really into the ASMR stuff. I layer the stimuli. Two screens with visual: Mandelbrot is just fantastic and pictures from the James Webb Telescope. The rice was great! added to fans, then either Pink Floyd's Echoes or someone whispering in French. Controlling each layer's sound with sound mixer. I also have a mat of fabric swatches in front of me. Stim Overload... The above getting to the point of: The rice was awesome!!🐺
ОтветитьI can't stand ASMR I don't know why but it just doesn't sound good to me
ОтветитьOh my god!! I remember in my old elementary days we had a rice bin in our classroom because most of us were on the spectrum & so we had that after did our work because we can choose what we wanna do after our work with the teacher. So when I saw that this video it’s just brings so many memories.
ОтветитьYes! Great idea, which I'll set up for my 4year old granddaughter. We can both get immersed 😊😊
ОтветитьSatisfying
Just like walking on sand or grass barefoot, or the echoes of a long hallway with no one else around.
Listening to water sound efftects or having the fan turned on while i sleep.
Great video s0ccalm and relaxing.😊
ОтветитьWill definitely try with my daughter very relaxing x
ОтветитьASMR?
ОтветитьYour an ASMR artist I wish I was there feeling and playing with the rice 🍚
ОтветитьHow does Ian, Connor and Alister take the sound of the rice?😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
ОтветитьI must try this with my boy who has autism.
ОтветитьLet Connor put his hands in the rice
ОтветитьLike; Sing-A-Long?
ОтветитьI tend to make motor sounds even while sick lol 😂
ОтветитьOk I don’t have autism but this is extremely satisfying and for some reason it tickles my brain. Don’t ask how it does that it just does
ОтветитьI hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving. I love watching your videos.❤
