I have a small issue and find it very difficult to resolve. Working on a word document with two columns which have bullet points, first column on the left hand side, then moving to the right hand side column, that worked great. However when moving to page 2 with two columns I want the numbering to continue first in the left hand column. Unfortunately it then changes the sequence of the number to follow the left hand column of page 1 and not the right hand column. I am trying to write some T & C's and the need to go from left to right column on page 1 then left to right column on page 2 and so on, if you could help dot would be great, I am pulling my hair out. Thank you in anticipation. Anne

ОтветитьHey Adam, I love how easy it is to understand the steps you take during your videos. I have a document that I need some help with and I know it would be something you would have fixed in a matter of a minute or two, but unfortunately for me someone else created this document and I am having to try to understand how they formatted it. I have multiple pages that have two lines at the top, when there should only be one. How do I get rid of the second line? I have tried to delete one, but I cannot click on either of them. Also, my page numbers are messed up. The first section uses Roman numerals, while the rest of the document uses a chapter number followed by the page number. I like this formatting, but I need to correct some of it. Right now, the Roman numeral page numbers are off. Some have a 1 in front of them. When I delete the number 1, the first chapter loses their Chapter portion of the page number. Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

ОтветитьAdam, I consider myself an intermediate user . . . Think Windows 3.1 was where I started! Yikes! Anyway, now that I have retired and have my own Windows at home subscriptions and no IT department to call on, I have a few questions:
1. How should files be organized? Not my files but program files, software programs that I install, basically everything on the C drive? When I look through, there seem to be many duplicates or even things like font files stored in different folders!? I like to have my files organized and I just have a feeling there is a lot of waste in my C drive. How do I know?
2. Speaking of space, I have a local administrator account and a Microsoft administrator account. I generally only use the MS account and when I review storage it appears my local account takes up a lot of space. Recommendations? I have used CCleaner and am afraid to delete some of the duplicate files found.

Appreciate if you could advise how to get access to display a calculated field (YEAR_END) in a table as soon as the pointer/cursor moves past the referenced field (YEAR_START) to its next/previous field
Here is the table STRUCTURE in question

Whenever I type in the value MANUALLY (2019, 2020 or 2021 etc) for the START_YEAR, press the ENTER key, the END_YEAR gets displayed immediately but if I simply move past the START_YEAR(with current year being displayed as the default START_YEAR) pressing ENTER, TAB etc, the END DATE doesn't show up.
***Would also appreciate if could possibly advise how to create a COMBO BOX populated with list of years (lets say from 1900 to 9999) for a YEAR FIELD in a table

ОтветитьYou'd add a great deal to the video if you fixed your lighting and background. If you are going to show your face, then there has to be value add to that, meaning, your face shouldn't be the darkest thing in view. If a background is going to be in view it needs to be in view for a reason, meaning, at the least, it shouldn't be a distracting/cluttered view.
Otherwise, your instructions and content are fine. But if there's no value add to the presentation in your face or background then keep it voice only with the view kept to the desktop.
Not meant to be offensive, just a critique to consider meant in good faith.
You are teaching very well about computers
But you audio is very low
Hoping that you will rectify this problem very soon

what i am using is external music storage and i want all the songs in 1 album aka folder to become its very own file, and have iTunes recognize that it is located externally there on auto so long as its plugged in. i tried searching how to do this and well i got you.
Thanks for your reply Adam. For your information, before I ever contacted you with the problem of File Explorer jumping back to the top of the list, I had been to many forums, including Microsoft's Forum Community with this problem and discovered a lot of people out there are having this problem and a number of them were complaining that Microsoft apparently never pays any attention to their feedback because they never do anything about this problem.
I don't know if I can explain it any better but If I open File Explorer, select "PIctures" scroll down in my picture gallery looking for a specific photo, before I can find it the scroll bar on the right jumps clear back up to the beginning of the list. Then I have to start all over trying to find my picture again and hopefully find it before it jumps back to the top again. This also happens whenever I'm trying to rename a photo. While I'm typing the new information in under the photo, File Explorer will jump back up to the top of the list and cancel what I was typing. I then have to go back down, try to find the photo again and hurriedly type the rename in before it has a chance to jump back to the top again. This is most annoying and frustrating and I have sent feedback to Microsoft numerous times and apparently a lot of other people have too because they say Microsoft isn't paying a bit of attention to the feedback they get on this problem.
It has been suggested in the forums I've gone to, to right click on my Desktop, select "Personalize" and uncheck "color" because they say that fixed it for them but I've tried that and it doesn't work for me. I still have the same problem. This only started doing this when I went from Windows 7 to Windows 10 during their free download period. Wish I had 7 back. No problems with it. Thanks for your reply anyway. I appreciate it.

How do you keep File Explorer from jumping back up to the top of the screen when searching for a photo in "Pictures?" Very annoying!! Before you can find the photo you're looking for, it jumps back up to the top of the list and you have to start all over again. Joe Morgan - Piedmont, OK
ОтветитьI am using MS Word 2013, every time I open a new MS word document - it will always double space, I have tried to change the settings but it keeps going back to double spacing when I reopen or start a new MS Work doc - this is a pain to deal with. I want to connect to twitter and then pull the Followers, Name (Handle); their Twitter ID using the @Name format; their profile information given as they stated it and lastly, their pictures or at least their profile pic as shown. I want to also send and receive DM's to each person from the DB.

The template is for my clients to fill out, so can I save the PDF so I'm able to open the same template where I can fill in the blanks for them. Right now I cant type anything in the spaces. I just want to be able to open up the template for each client I meet in person and fill in their information.

I am a high school teacher in Utah. Your MOS tutorials have been extremely helpful in my Business Office Specialist classes, in which my students are training for Certiport industry certification.
Would you please consider MOS Certiport Exam Study Guides for: Excel Expert 2016 and Word Expert 2016? Every year I have approx five MOS Masters, with several others almost accomplishing that goal, yet get hung up especially on Excel Expert. We use GMetrix, which is great, although the training isn't extensive enough to prepare students for passing Excel Expert.
Please help. Any chance you would be able to present tutorials for an Excel Expert 2016 Study Guide before May of 2018? Any mini-tutorials on Word Expert concepts would also be appreciated.
