Renewal Song (original) Acoustic Version by Christian Michael Jung

I wrote this song 20 years ago in 2004, then released it on my third CD in 2009. My five month old Great Dane puppy, Jonathan, wanted to join me recording it today.

We've all been there as Christ-followers. We've been at the place where we are fed up with screwing up and falling back into sinful patterns. The apostle Paul was, too. In fact, there are almost direct quotes from him in this song. We get torn between wanting to just hurry up and go to heaven, yet we want to be set free from the sinful nature that we have here on this side of eternity.

The chorus really expresses the need for spiritual renewal in our lives. God is so gentle and patient with us. He longs for us to be honest with Him. If we are feeling like crap, we ought to feel free to talk to Him about it. Only Jesus has the answers to our deepest questions, and only He can truly heal us and give us real freedom.
