I made up stories for my kids. But I couldn't stand the pressure of having to create new plots for Hedgie the Hedgehog, it was so stressful. I woulda been Xed in that court.

My ELA teacher told us this story. We are currently reading book called Seven daughters and Seven sons. The story is supposed to be set in ancient Arab. She told us that all Arab girls are told to look up to this woman because she is strong, intelligent and a resourceful woman.

What’s fascinating here is how the king didn’t fall for Scheherazade all at once, but gradually over the course of 1001 nights. Once a ruler consumed by betrayal, he had executed bride after bride. But Scheherazade knew, and still chose to marry him, not out of love, but to end the cycle. Night after night, she told stories that stirred something in him. And on the final night, he realized she hadn’t just changed him, she did it to save the others too. That’s when he knew he loved her. So he made her his queen
