They let down the 'Waspi' women and made the heating allowance means-tested. In a way I can understand both measures, but, let's face it, these two measures do not look like 'Labour delivering'.
ОтветитьThanks very much Phil for sharing this with ud5. Have a nice evening 🍀 and all here
ОтветитьConservatives doubled rough sleeping in my nearby city within a few years of coming to power. Anything Labour does is a win
ОтветитьHomelessness is going to go up as soon as Labour goes ahead with the Tories planned welfare cuts. They plan to cut £4k a year from some of the most vulnerable people in the country who only get £9k a year. Over 400,000 people will be affected. And Starmer and Labour will just keep repeating "£22 Billion black hole we have to make the tough decisions". How on earth are these 400,000 people supposed to survive on £4k a year? I really regret voting for Labour. Never again. From cutting the winter fuel allowance. To saying they will fight for Waspi women and then doing them dirty. Keir Starmer is just as much of a liar as Boris Johnson.
ОтветитьI'm beginning to think they are not quite so poor at communication but rather it's the forthright honest speaking I was hoping for. We've got so used to the disingenuous smile while telling outright lies that perhaps sometimes the truth is just too hard and some just prefer the lies. Definitely interesting.
ОтветитьBring in millions of immigrants to ease homelessness, now whats wrong with that idea ?
ОтветитьCan they vote to make foreign interference/ funding in BRITISH politics unlawful?
ОтветитьNot bad for the first 6 months plus of course put the lid on the pre arranged farridge riots.
ОтветитьRemind me, how long have Labour been in government?
ОтветитьSo phil is shilling now to continue tory policies.
None of what you mentioned before 3 minutes helps homelessness. And please don't lie by saying that's its taken into public ownership.
At the moment, labour have not even set up the cross-party panel/taskforce on the issue. That won't sit until next year (late spring) and will only consider recommending policy proposals.
The 1 billion fund isn't new. Labour has increased funding on tory strategies by 200 million but has not adapted or come up with new laws and policies to address the existing failures. It's sticky tape that fails when it rains.
Furthermore, much of the fund (over half) is well documented to pay private companies for accommodation space. This is something that several tory mps and Rayner have declared financial holdings in.
Go figure.
The brief wasn't across different departments under blair and the emergency legislation was brought in yo deal with homelessness and poverty.
But do tell more lies on how a taskforce with its first meeting late next spring, who will not make law, is putting poverty as a priority.
One of the biggest success by New Labour was sorting out homelessness especially rough sleeping....It as pretty endemic in my home city of Bristol. However after 5 years of hard work numbers had reduced from about 300+ down to less than 10....Most of whome had been banned from all the shelters on multiple occasions for excessive violence. Within 12 months of the Con-Dems getting into power all of this was undone and rough sleeping was back to previous levels...😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
ОтветитьI never doubted labour in helping the most vulnerable in society. When people out there say Labour are no different from the tories clearly this just demonstrates that Labour are for working people and the vulnerable and all those that question Labour need to get their head from out their backside. I am sick of listening to those that are deaf and only listen to RW media who incidently have gone quiet on this.
Ответитьthats good im homeless. i was homeless for 4 years and im finally in an emergency temporary accommodation but nothing gets done if theres no funding and people to process my case.
ОтветитьDefine Homelessness, there are people on this board who see it as sleeping on the streets, and others who see the mum with three kids and no home. Both very different in circumstances.
There has always been "tramps" from years gone by, now they have tents, shelters, and sleep on the streets instead of derelict buildings, they have pets, (which no shelter will tolerate) many beg, and are not prepared to change there way of life. Are they homeless or Vagrants?.
As for the mum of three kids and no home, Why? Again a problem that's been with us for hundreds of years, Harsh as it may seem these people are a never ending fact of life, Some how we need to break this cycle in our society,
There needs to be a net for the real hard luck cases, but some of these cases are just stupid people doing and living careless lives, with the cost of living on the increase charitable feelings tend to disappear, a sad but unfortunate fact.
Reading a lot of these comments and this repeating bleat of poor "comms" from mission control is irritating and fascicle, most of these topics Phil mentions have been reported in the media, either in Tabloids, TV, Social Media, etc, stop this whining about the Media, either "sort it" or live with it, but for @ucks sake STOP whingeing,
ОтветитьLabour will be kicked straight back out again. Starmer won't achieve anything noticeable. The next couple of years are going to be brutal.
ОтветитьLabor needs to be better at communicating. Learn frim the US. Biden and Dems didn't do a good job for the 4 years about communicating the good and positive things, and because the press here (like in the UK) is wired for conservative parties, Labor and Dems have to work harder at communicating. Letting things speak for themselves is not enough.
ОтветитьPhil is correct , labour must be better at blowing their own trumpet.
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьThe increase in applications for Pension Credit was generated by Labour cutting the heating allowance, and all the hard graft is being done by others, not the government. There is now a backlog of applications.
As for homelessness, there is little sign of the homelessness generation mill slowing down. To adopt an expression there is little sign of government getting tough on the causes of homelessness. The Renters' Rights Bill going though at present (including repeal of section 21) is not nearly enough. Section 8 is also widely abused and it's really the whole shebang of Assured Shorthold Tenancies which needs to go. Even that would merely scrape a little off the problem. There needs to be a "housing first" strategy, sequestration of empty housing (which will help in some areas, but not all) and large-scale provision of medium-term prefab housing, with sequestration of the necessary urban land. On the latter, we can now do much better than the post-war prefab programme. All of which will require a lot of labour, much of it skilled. Witamy z powrotem Polacy?
The biggest problem is actually simple, a lack of housing because we have not built enough for decades. In our world of supply and demand, this puts housing prices up, buy or let. Building also creates jobs and GDP. Problem, lack of skilled work force.
ОтветитьThe DUP? When did hey get hold of the welfare system?!?
ОтветитьI doubt there'll be much coverage of these announcements unfortunately. It's much more important we talk about who's going to win Christmas No.1 or about people's lunch order.
ОтветитьYou mentioned the military housing being renationalised. Another nationalisation that has happened without much fanfare is the National Energy System Operator.
ОтветитьThey have delivered by removing winter fuel payment anyone signing up for pension benefit will be too late to get fuel payments. That's 10 million pensioners left very angry, 6000 new houses to be built every week without any skilled builders, bricks, tiles, timber, felt, windows, fantasy land. NI tax increase on all employers including charities,, old people's homes, hospices, schools colleges. Guess who will pay for that. So that's employers pissed off. A change to inheritance tax which has led to most farmers and landowners protesting at this labour communist style land grab, unions angry at labours false promise to change employment laws, Now wispie women denied the promised compensation. So they are in revolt nothing but broken promises, most of the population really racked off with Starmers and his cabinet, even labour MPs are challenging them chances of being elected for a second term ==== zero, zilch, chanceless, flying pigs, your very weak grasping at straws attitude will be seen for what it is total cover up head in the sand BS
ОтветитьAlways dropping your trousers when it comes to Starmer, who also seems to be adhering to some Tory policies, the lying K Marxist scumbag. Never trust any politician.
ОтветитьPhil Moorhouse
Filling Keir's Blackhole with BS.
Good solid facts. Thankyou.
Ответитьfill the Country with immigrants that will sort out homelessness
ОтветитьAre you getting sick of defending the indefensible?
BOE reports a downward spiral for our economy.
After 5 years of this, the boats will be full going back to France.
The German economy has now lost 40% of its exports. Why do we want to hitch ourselves again to a project in its death throws? The last time the German economy went down this fast Hitler came to power.
Labours have done loads already.
1. Increased taxes for working people.
2.cancelled compensation for waspi woman.
3. Increased inflation to 2.6:%.
4. Turned our fastest growing economy in the G7 to the slowest
5. Given public workers pay increases above inflation train drivers earn £72 thousands pounds
6. Remove 10 million pensioners from the winter fuel allowance and allowed energy price rises. Promised before the election not too.
7. refuses to increase the 2 children child benefit cap
8. Feed us bull shite about building socal housing
9. Destroying our farming communities with unfair taxes.
10. Collapsing our economy (already started) by placing higher taxes (NI) on businesses.
11 stopping any further investments into our oil and gas industries losing 10s of thousands of jobs.
12.Encouraging illegal imigrants by taking away deterrents and paying out benefits of tax payers money.
All this while giving Billions out to foreign countries
Yeah you couldn't make it up
awesome video, going to be interesting to see what happens. Seems a superb idea
ОтветитьMeat & Veg for GB ‘News’. Hang on? Lefties and pedophiles eat vegetables - ergo Labour are evil👺. I have done my research. ❤️ great work again, Phil. Merry 🌲John Kennedy.
ОтветитьOut of interest, where do you get the cool image of Big Ben in purple lights from?
ОтветитьLabour do need to get better at communicating their positive policies. All we tend to hear are the negatives. I get that they’re up against a mainly right wing biased news media, because of who owns most of it, but they need to break down this blue wall that’s stopping their voice being heard. Whether better handling of social media is the answer, I don’t know, it can be a very toxic enjoyment, but it’s how Reform are growing their popularity.
ОтветитьPhil, Labour can disregard the media if people's finances improve. However, costs are still rising. Labour must work to reduce expenses, particularly in sectors like energy and water. Profiteering excessive corporate pay should be addressed firmly. Food banks should be closed, and people should receive sufficient benefits to afford groceries like anyone else.
Deliver on this, and Labour may be re-elected, particularly if the superrich and corporations are seen to pay their fair share.
Are you moving the immigrants out to make room for the homeless.
ОтветитьThere will be no limit to the tax pauper funds required for the Demographic replacement w@r they call immigration. A few more £billiom on top of the £40 Billion alredy speent in the last few years on benefits and accommodation for the new British to replace the previous indigenous folks being currently eliminated with the assistance of Jack Frost will also free up some additional housing.
ОтветитьStange how the Media says nothing about this?
ОтветитьIts not going to help the smackhead that lost a leg due to shooting up and now uses the other leg and wheels down the road to beg for money to get another fix! Hostels have rules, they don't allow people to shoot up or drink alcohol on the premises, thats why these people get kicked out! Sheffield council has criminalised begging, Bradford council along with the church, advise people not to give them money, but people still enable them and pay for their drugs, so they won't ever change! And the same excuses are always used to get money and avoid being offered food instead "I need to pay for a bed for the night" or "Im stranded and need money for the train"
ОтветитьIt just go to homeless boat people. They defo be a one term government not pray coming back form there cuts to old , disabled and mentally ill they been took to court over it ! Unemployment up ! Two terms lower growth and if 3 in Jan we go back into recession ! Labour are shocking bad. 50 million on top of 11 million for Syria and old people freezing to death. Kids starving food banks use up can’t cope ! Once disabled and mentally ill cuts kick in 2025 they will not be able to afford the basics. Labour thinks more about funding out Uk money than our people let’s vote the rubbish Labour Party out asap. In May they taking away our votes to scrap our councils to give us mayors that cost even more in council tax remember Labour said before election not a penny more in housing tax another Labour lie. And the minimum wage increase won’t go far in extra water bills energy bills and housing tax rises everyone on minimum wage will be worse off.
ОтветитьI don't get how someone can say Labour will be a one-term gov because they've done nothing. If you ignore that they have delivered, as you said, Phil, it makes no sense. Does anyone think that any government would be able to deliver revolutionary change this soon after the election? I certainly didn't because it literally is not feasible, but what they have done, for the most part, is really good. And a lot of the upcoming bills look really promising.
ОтветитьAre you saying that the plan to tackle homelessness is to create an interdepartmental committee?
ОтветитьIf this is what people are saying then the British don't deserve democracy.
ОтветитьSo pleased you've done a video summarising the positive actions the government has taken so far. As you say, the media are not interested in keeping us informed about this. Perhaps you could do this on a regular basis Phil?
ОтветитьI read all the BBC and Guardian news every day, twice a day, and I never heard of any of this. If Labour don't sort out their communications, that's their death knell.
Ответитьnb here in rural Wales there is no hospice. We have a charity called "hospice" which will send a volunteer to sit with you so your carer gets an hour or two's break
ОтветитьVeterans given priority social housing, not happening. Homeless accommadated, not going to happen. Just more Labour lies to try and retrieve a little popularity for a cabinet and a PM who have reached rockbottom inside less than 6 months.
ОтветитьA lot of Labour activists are already resigned to a one term government. Its awful. We are getting abused in the street.
Ответить
