I have not tried this. It makes sense! Rotating by succession planting in a square foot bed would be a lot easier. It's difficult for me to leave empty planting places when I'm planting my first garden.
ОтветитьDonna, you opened my eyes!! I didn't know that sometimes frozen vegetables can retain more nutrition than fresh! I can see now the value of gardening, especially succession planting!
ОтветитьVery good point, Donna! Crop rotation is so important for plant health!
ОтветитьI completely agree Donna. Succession planting is so important. Thank you for the list of nutritional loss facts. Best wishes Patrick
ОтветитьGreat info, thanks! Can you do a video showing plants that are good to grow together?
ОтветитьOooohhh, you had my like at the first mention succession planting! Absolutely! This skill means the difference between eating constantly out of your garden for many months or just a one time harvest of much less quantity.
ОтветитьI don't know if you've heard of my sight. But I just wanted to say keep up the good work
ОтветитьThanks I needed this.
ОтветитьI would love to be organized and dedicated enough to do this! Maybe this year
ОтветитьLove this video
ОтветитьFantastic video, Donna. I love the tip to keep seeds handy by your keys. My biggest issues re succession planting are space and remembering to do it! :)
ОтветитьI couldn't agree more, Donna! Great points about the advantages of succession planting.
ОтветитьGreat information Donna! It's a tough call sometimes. Around here we can go from 30º to 70º overnight. So it's tough to gauge what crops will do well and when. I plant lettuce early, hoping for the best. Sometimes the cool weather stays on. Other times, there is no way to keep it from bolting and being bitter. But, as a gardener...you always have HOPE!
ОтветитьGood Job, all the way through,Thank you,Gene Wolbert
ОтветитьDo you have a template I could see?
ОтветитьThis is a great video that I just came back to. This is indeed an important skill to learn. I shared it. But, I don't think I have many viewers. LOL I don't make videos. But, I shared on google plus. And I agree about companion planting. Although it does help in my experience for a short time, as soon as the heat hits....all bets are off. Those pests will find what they are looking for no matter how you camouflage. However I do think basil and borage help repel the tomato horn worm. I also think that basil does something for the taste of EVERYTHING. LOL We are basil lovers here and hate when summer is over and that first frost comes and takes the sandwich sized leaves away. It's our lettuce almost in the summer.
ОтветитьAgain, I learned something new and useful from your video today. Thank you so much!!
Ответитьso it's okay to clip the roots off and leave them in the soil? ;
Ответитьgreat video. this is actually my first year doing this so i love the info. thanks a bunch
ОтветитьThank you for the videos :)
Ответитьwhat vegetables do you plant for the cold months?
ОтветитьThank you. I learn succession planting from you which I am doing this year. I will be doing it with my carrots, bok choy, spinach, spring onions and others which can be done with this method. -Nor from France.
ОтветитьDo you think that this can be done with container gardening?
ОтветитьSuccession planting - Most valuable practice for every vegetable gardener. How true! Now for the needed discipline to make it happen. I'm gonna try my digital calendar as a reminder. Thanks for the article with additional motivating information.
ОтветитьGreat video! Just got serious about succession planning over here at the Forging Freedom Channel. It's truly amazing how much produce you can grow in a small space by using this method
ОтветитьThis video helps a lot.yiu answer a lot of my questions just from this one👍 thanks for sharing your info
Ответитьwell done on your entire video, confession: i am having problems sticking to succession planting. but I am giving it more attention now to have a steady harvest of vegetables, wish me luck...
ОтветитьHello again. I would like to know if I can succession grow most all of my veges? Thanks
ОтветитьWhat a great reminder for succession planting. This is my first year with a raised bed garden, before I only used pots. I got excited about planting & almost forgot about leaving space for succession.
ОтветитьGood.
ОтветитьLove 😍 all your videos
ОтветитьWhat do you do during the winter months?
ОтветитьDo you know of resource to provide approximate days that each crop lasts (time that harvest lasts)
ОтветитьVery informative thank you.
