I used jungle boots to bush walk in Australia (hiking), they were fantastic. Took a pair of scarpa boots to move me on
ОтветитьCan you do modern marine jungle boots and also their modern combat boots?
ОтветитьDo the Goruck line.
MACV-1 to start, then the trainers runners and MACV-2.
The MACV-1 is inspired by the Jungle boot and made in Vietnam
I wore there from around 2000-2004 or when they switched to dessert no shine boots only. I ALWAYS got mine immediately resolved with a wedge flat Vibram sole. I don’t do heels
ОтветитьI was an infantryman in the 70's. The insoles were issued in basic training along with 2 pairs of leather boots. I was issued a pair of jungle boots when I was assigned to my unit. The canvas on the newer jungle boots was replaced with nylon as was all of the webbing pouches and rucksacks. The regular leather boots were of a high quality and once broken in were very comfortable.
ОтветитьMy most favorite boot in the military especially in the jungles of Central America.
Ответить50 bucks?!? Where?
ОтветитьUp until the desert uniform change I wore these.. but the black part was polished to a mirror .. seriously u could read a driver license in them
ОтветитьI liked my Jungle Boots. The ones I were issued in the Nam were worn to slippers. I slit the front of the boot so I could kick out the sand. I didn't wear socks because of heat rash. They made me replace them when I was short and I went back to Pendleton with new jungle boots.
ОтветитьI have been wearing this boot, whether or not I was operational, since 1969. 22 countries on 3 continents. Before they made black I dyed the canvas black or just sprayed a little black fabric paint on it because some countries won't let you wear "military clothing". 🤣 Yet once you are in country, everyone is toting Kalashnikovs.
ОтветитьDidn't they call those improved soles Panama soles.
Ответитьwhere can you buy a good orginal pair. not some chinese knock off!
ОтветитьWhen I was issued my Jungle boots in June 1970 I was never given an instruction manual, all I had to do was wear them thru sand, mud, dirt, water and then I was expected to have them spit shined for the next day of sand,mud,dirt……..
ОтветитьWatching you cut that boot in half made me want to throw up so badly
ОтветитьThis video is about the jungle boot, which is all well and good, but the title is misleading. I'm disappointed that this said nothing about what the replacement for the jungle boot was, and why it is different.
ОтветитьMy first pair 1969, headed to Vietnam, the sign of the times.
ОтветитьDon’t look this up but u am pretty sure the wooden block in the heel is so that the boots float. I knew a helicopter pilot (cw5) who mentioned that one time, I’m not sure if it’s true but it seems legit.
ОтветитьBut Micheal myers wear these boots in 1978 movies
ОтветитьThe do not boil was for the break in. One of the old methods to break in leather boots was to dip them in boiling water and then wear them and walk around until they dried. It would form the leather to your foot.
ОтветитьRight out of MP school, I purchased a pair and I still have them.
ОтветитьMy dad wore these, still has a pair and he's a desert storm Marine. He still has jungle rot it still flares up to this day.
ОтветитьLol those look nearly identical to my dessert boots I wore the entire time I was in the army during GWOT, aside from coloration, and the switch to suede from raw leather.
ОтветитьMarine here. I loved my Jungle Boots and even wore them when deployed in the 80s.
ОтветитьThis is a pin 📌📍🧷 this is a pen 🖊
ОтветитьThe biggest German hunters magazine said that the Vietnam boot is the best boot on the market and has the lowest price.
ОтветитьYou really did that to real GI Jungle boot?? No, you can't pick them up at any surplus store, the supplies were exhausted by the 1990s! If that was a 9W and not a 4XN or something, then a pair in mint condition would be worth like 500 dollars or more! Since the mid-80s the issue jungle boots have had black nylon upper, with different padding and speed lace metal loops until 2000 with the desert boots that dropped the 2 airvents and added nylon CoolMax lining but also offered various soles like Sierra and Sahara patterns
ОтветитьCutting the laces served no purpose
ОтветитьHey huge fan of your work. Please consider reviewing the asolo leather hiking boot. I would really like to know what's inside to help me make an informed decision.
ОтветитьI have a pair of those, theyre great but i have to wear super thick socks (or two pairs) or they tear my achilles ti shreds after work
ОтветитьI was at the VA and another Veteran spoke to me about this boots in a way that made me want them 😂
ОтветитьEspero que de esos zapatos hayan para su venta en México.
Se ven que son de primera calidad.
I bought mine in the 1970s, still have them. Only used in the woods.
ОтветитьThey may be discontinued, but I'd still like to own an original government issue pair! 🇺🇸🪖🥾👍
ОтветитьDirect Molded Sole (DMS) combat boots like these Jungle Boots and the all-leather combat boots the Army used from 1985 to about 2000 are my favorites. I get them NOS on ebay for about $70 and beat the crap out of them until I cut up the leather from crawling around, or wear out the sole. McRae still makes them though the NOS or used ones on ebay are cheaper and a bit better built. Companies like Altama, McRae, and Rothco were the primary vendors who made these awesome boots.
ОтветитьMy metal plate rusted and broke
ОтветитьI wore the jungle boots from 1999-2004 and it was the best footwear at the time. Bates Magnum were also popular at the time but were so padded that they were unsufferably hot and the super soft sole wore out very quickly. The Jungle Boot was durable, comfortable and since we had to put a shine on them, they were reasonably easy to bring up to shine.
ОтветитьThere wasn't much good about Vietnam but my friends and my Jungle boots were great. Simpler Fi
ОтветитьBut why do people hate them? Are they uncomfortable? Heavy??
ОтветитьI have a modified pair of these from my time in the Army.
The only downside is the lack of ankle support. So if you're walking thru rubble you gotta watch out for twisted ankles.
On the plus side these are the most comfortable combat boot you'll ever wear. If you have the steel plate removed and have them resoled they feel like wearing sneakers.
1965 - 2005 is 40 years.
ОтветитьEnvia essa bota para o Brasil?
ОтветитьI had a pair of Panama sole boots and the sole came off the first time they got wet.
Ответить👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьMan, those things like Chuck Taylors. Great, but terrible ankle support.
ОтветитьWore them as my duty boots in the Navy throughout the eighties...just so comfortable...i always sought out the canvas ones for fire concerns with nylon.
ОтветитьThe combat boots I wore for ROTC resemble those second-gen lugs. Looks like they stuck to that design.
ОтветитьQuiero unas❤
ОтветитьOpie Taylor
ОтветитьBeware Rothko boots, which are made like crap. Altama and McRae both make true to original boots, and McRae has original equipment due to making boots for the military back in the day
