I know Dark souls 2 got a lot of hate but I absolutely love that game. I even prefer over the Dark Souls 1. Only thing I thought was whack was the soul memory crap but other than that I absolutely love that game.

As a 38 year old, i mostly know From Software for it's various rocket launchers and lasers. Not so much its bland fantasy games.

Shadow tower abyss is the best fromsoftware game pre souls if you have not played it you ought to do it

Why you always downplay the importance of armored core? I think most people from the era of ps1 and 2 would definitely know fromsoft specifically from growing up with armored core. Like i feel a little betrayed with the perspective that fromsoft came out of nowhere with demon souls. Like fromsoft felt big. Especially by the time of AC3&4.

why do Souls fans willingly ignore Armored Core and pretend it doesn't exist??? and metal wolf chaos, and chromehounds, and frame gride, and murakumo: RMP, and another century's episode 1, 2 and 3, (and portable) and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, and steel battalion: heavy armor, but still - it's not like FromSoft only made one shitty dungeon crawler series and then Souls, you know...

I wish this game was on the playstation store to buy and download. I would buy it in a heart beat

Honestly I wish we'd get a real shadow tower remake/remaster, one of my favs. I also heard they wanted to make an armor core like shadow tower idk how much sense it makes but ok..

I actually heard from a guy that worked with the localization team in eu that bloodborne was the spiritual "avanger" of shadow tower made by Miyazaki, but at the same time there was ds2 happening in the background which was supposed to be the remake of shadow tower and Kings field into one but was pushed to be ds2 for brand and money... and then they pushed for ds3 as well..

Halo Combat Evolved also had the flood enemies, who you could disable attacks from by shooting off their limbs. Then there was also Severance: Blade of Darkness, which had full body dismemberment, and then Heretic 2, Chasm The Rift, Die By The Sword. And even the original D&D tabletop game had enemies which you could strategically dismember, like Beholders.

It goes back a lot farther than Shadow Tower.

I was more shocked at the decent story writting. I know it seems cliche ig but the words/design they put into this game especially at the end were well written and the ending is kinda how i feel about the world. This game was trying to show us something and didn't get ported because we afraid of truth and Japan knew we couldn't appreciate these fine details. We all like wow theres guns thats so sick while theres very creative story elements we all just try to gloss over with a dumb pendant that has nothing special about it. Like that heart probably wasn't evil and our character ends up slsying it because some hot lady is more believable to be good. Not saying women are all evil but i can definitely see thst the games trying to say the monster isnt always what we think. Or even the spear being a useless item is no different than the world making us feel certain things will solve our issues until we obtain them and it just shows how broken that idea was.
