The health worker has no idea because it's a spiritual thing and these people have demons speaking to me. Plain and simple but people don't look at the obvious. They need Deliverance not medication. The health workers keep trying to find a scientific reason and they're just going to be pounding their head against the wall clueless
Ответитьas a believer in Jesus Christ and the Bible, i have noticed that psychiatry does not put the blame of such diseases like bi-polar on the devil....those people suffering mental health should seek deliverance from a true man or woman of God
ОтветитьThank god for lithium... I actually believed in god during my first manic episode a few years ago.
ОтветитьI just want to tell everybody how proud I am of all of you! I was diagnosed with bipolar back in 1995. 12 hospitalizations and 3 suic*de attempts, but I’m still here. I’ve been pretty much completely stable since 2001 save for two short episodes. You have this, just keep on going.
ОтветитьThis should be an exploration of mental illness, but the main woman following them around appears Freudian without the qualifications to prove her point- which is a fixation on trauma. Depending on your definition of trauma, it’s part of being alive. It would have been so much better to understand those suffering in the moment, not superficially judge and analyze to reach a conclusion which assumes her pre determined point. I usually love these documentaries, but these poor people and the documentary was set up like watching monkeys in a zoo not exploring the complexities of living with a mental illness. Opportunity missed and ethics are questionable at best
ОтветитьI was extremely dismayed the way these folks' bipolar disorder was portrayed. I am diagnosed 15 years ago Bipolar 2 w/rapid cycling. Also, multiple other mood disorders and phobias. I am very fortunate to have an excellent psychiatrist & we have worked long & hard getting my meds as closely "fine-tuned" as we can for me to have adequate relief and a good life. This video was very depressing, and I believe overall unfair. My opinion is that it depicted the extremes, with nothing between - more fodder for the "stigma machine." There are many, many people like me who are compliant on meds & manage a good life. This feeds into the myth that people with Bipolar are "CRAZY" & to be avoided. 😢
ОтветитьThis woman does my head in. She has zero idea what she’s in about.
ОтветитьPaul is ............😂😂😂
ОтветитьThis Joanna Moncrieff doctor clearly hasn't experienced any of this or any psychotic episode, otherwise she wouldn't say such nonsense as "these pills sedate some feelings that you don't prefer to experience, but isn't a good long term strategy". Ignorant, and to believe I bought one of her books and took her cry against antipsychotic drugs seriously. Hope she doesn't endanger too many patients...
ОтветитьIt's disappointing to see how this video lacks medical accuracy. The omission of discussing mood stabilizers and the overemphasis on trauma can mislead viewers. It's crucial to have a well-rounded understanding of mental health treatment, which includes a variety of approaches, including medication management.
ОтветитьWe can't all be the same, and are made perfectly different. If "mental illness" didn't exist, what would all of the shrinks, and drug companies do? "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." --J. Krishnamurty
ОтветитьI don't have bipolar disorder... Bipolar disorder has me...
ОтветитьI cried pretty good when i got my diagnosis at 41 yrs.
Tears of relief actually... To finally find out what has been "wrong" with me my entire life...
Once you're armed with a diagnosis it gives you a fighting chance to know how to fight the battle.
I was diagnosed a couple of years ago. I take seroquel and cymbalta. It works for me.
ОтветитьAshley (The Music man) is such a sweet guy, does anyone know how’s he doing these days? I was bullied at school too, and even today I hear the voice of my bully. Paul is very much like me too, I cover up my “down side” with thinking I’m the best at this and that ect! This documentary really hit home for me
ОтветитьDepressive/anxious states are more common than manic/irritable/delusional/agitated ones. Some people are normal for long periods.
ОтветитьThey totally lied to his face about what they were really talking about. They were really talking about how he had missed his marks and didn't get along. Then he strolls in the room like, my ears are burning, and they lie to him. Dude, fug his parents. Choke on a hot dog.
ОтветитьThis interviewer sucks she really gets in the way of actually getting to know these gems of people
ОтветитьMaybe I am also.
ОтветитьThe concluding thoughts to this film are dangerously off track. The rest was pretty solid but…good grief. You want them to figure it out on their own? That’s literally dangerous.
If you are suffering from this or other things please seek help from qualified professionals.
I’m so badly trying to understand me. So much is out of my control…. I hate that… not being able to have control.
ОтветитьIm always angry.. or sad.. or anxious. Idk if its Bipolar or not.. And it doesnt help that everyone reacts angry to my angry... Im not doing it on purpose... jeez...
ОтветитьI don't get it. Why aren't these people in meds? Surely they must be aware of the advances in medicine? I'm really confused here. As a Bipolar type 1, *and a severe basket case*, I haven't had a crisis in ages, as long as I do what I should. And mind you, I live in a Third World Country, FFS!
Psychiatric patients shouldn't be asked or have choice in the matter. They can't be responsible for their choices! This documentary is SCARY.
Good documentary, wish she would keep her opinions to herself tho
ОтветитьI know I'm no psychiatrist or therapist or psychologist, whatever. But I don't completely agree about bipolar disorder not being a chemical imbalance, at least not for everyone. There's a HUGE difference in every way between me on medication and me off. There's is DEFINATELY something wrong with my brain and how it functions.
ОтветитьWe all have our bipolar episodes every day. Our thoughs can either kill us or make us stronger individuals.
ОтветитьI would like a true and serious investigation into ALL vaccines from the beginning of their development to now on all their side effects and how it has affected the population, especially the children. One of the reasons I ask this is because my son had no emotional issues until I had him vaccinated. All the vaccines I have looked into have serious ingredients that affect the brain and nervous system. Some, the immune system. We, as parents, have to protect our children on every level and the medical and pharmaceutical industry are not always truthful as to what they say is " good medicine". We need to be more cautious and careful as to what we allow to be put into our bodies. He is now in his 40's. His journey and mine has been long and difficult. There are way too many harmful chemicals in our lives to be complacent about them is detrimental to all humanity.
ОтветитьIt's the going through life being misunderstood for me was the most hurtful
Ответитьthis is a terrible documentary about being bipolar. this does nothing to help people with and without bipolar to understand anything about and living with bipolar
ОтветитьThe more I get into understanding why I am who I am I find out I need to accept that I am bipolar I suffered trauma as a child and I think it is also genetic from my mothers side after doing some studying I realized she herself was bipolar I refuse to take meds because they only are temporary and don't cure they made me sick as well I'm in training to be a pro wrestler that helps as well as playing Skyrim on my ps 5 I write my own lyrics and I recorded songs all these help also I noticed staying busy helps
ОтветитьI am impressed that this journalist is informed about a trauma link to the exacerbation of this condition. People always insult bipolar people by asking the rhetorical question, “What’s WRONG with you?” Rather than asking, “What happened?” There are many things that exacerbate and potentiate a person’s risk of bipolar and other serious affective conditions. The trajectory for bipolar can depend on many things. I have been in more of a remission at times. Other times, I’d be excited to start something, then the depression sets in during the winter and I crash.
People think there was no trauma because they weren’t abused in the ways we normally think of But some people do have a more sensitive wiring to the environment and absorbing generational trauma. There are so any things that constitute an adverse environment for a sensitive person, not the least of which is the insane modern world.
The atrocities mental illness inflicted unto 'us' ; the sufferer. Is difficult to put in words or describe to 'those' on the 'other' side.
ОтветитьWhat bipolar? an INVENTED disease that has no scientific basis, from a psychiatrists unscientific book of fiction. This is nonsense. Real diseases are discovered not invented.
ОтветитьI'm sorry but Paul's friend never explains his correct business decisions... just pulls out a piece of stone from Alabama?
ОтветитьDo you check for MTHFR MUTATIONS? They are very common. I have 2 copies of neg of the gene and heterozygous polymorphism
Ответитьas someone with type 1 bipolar, lithium SAVED MY LIFE. its annoying me how she says we take meds for temporarily relief from our "feelings", no ma'am im taking it so I don't cycle into 6+ month long manic episodes and do things like try to cut my arm off because the voices told me they'd leave me alone I did that. so I don't sleep with strangers every night of the week and end myself up dead or with an std like the last time. bro this has got me really riled up, the "scientists/doctors" have no fkn clue. listen to the ppl that have it. plus it runs in my family, my dad has it and now I do. its genetic ffs. ugh
ОтветитьI’ve noticed many people with bipolar (including myself) believe that they have to be the best or they are nothing. Is this connected to bipolar, and how?
ОтветитьHi
I don’t think this documentary is about bipolar- it’s about something different.
Bipolar is thinking and behaving about two extremes.
This is actually very stigmatic and offensive, not everyone acts like this. its a very wide spectrum.
ОтветитьWe all get thoughts in our minds.
I learned to retain my mind to stay positive. Every time I get a bad thought, I say, I silence the voice of the enemy. After doing this for a few weeks the thought almost completely stopped.
Love your God with all heart, mind, soul and STRENGTH!
A potential girlfriend of mine has bipolar depression (I think type 2). I love her with all my heart and will always be there for her. She's not defined by it, it's part of her and she's an angel.
ОтветитьJesus is the GOD of peace!
ОтветитьJesus is the Lord of peace!
ОтветитьShe's got it. The woman with that opening statement about wondering what happened to a person rather than what's wrong with the person is a key component in solving mental illness.
ОтветитьSometimes I feel very happy with my life. I tirelessly wash the toilet. But as time passes I thought about my future And then I felt like I was worthless. I became lazy and lay in bed listening to music. When I feel better, I go to exercise.🤨
ОтветитьTell him to try Effexor! Works great, im at 225mg but i manage well! Just a suggestion! 🤗
ОтветитьOh come onnnn 😢
ОтветитьRelatable to me, I have a Bipolar 1 with psychotic features diagnosis. Going on 10 years with little relief from the countless medications. It's hard to find people that have it more extreme not just the depression, mixed episodes or an occasional manic episode
ОтветитьWell said. Labelling people stifles a person's ability to recognize what worth they/we have.
