A Quick Attach was one of the first things I bought for my tractor. I couldn't imagine going as long as you have and not using one, but then I've only been in the tractor game for a couple of years. Nowadays there's the formal QuickAttach specification for both sides of the equation to be interoperable so things should be easier with newer gear, but older gear may take more finesse and persuasion to work, as you found out. Good Works Tractor also sells their own designed weight hangers that go on the QA to hold three 41 lb weights on each side for extra ballast that I use on my Cat-I setup; though your setup may be a Cat-II.

I labeled each implement with the pin hole location and top link length so i know just how to set it up so it connects easy. Still have to fight them occasionally but at least it's a good starting point.

Look into Pats’s quick attach. It slides over the lower link arms and the top link stays the same. Works great with older implementations.

Hey Troy I really enjoy your videos! I am by no means an expert is quick attach! In the past few years I have changed out center link hook bolts with pins and clips not all of my attachments have same distance.I also traded out some of lift arm pins on attachment to quick link pins they have a shoulder to prevent slipping off the side . Finally I found out the hard way that all pto driven implements may not have enough overlap on pto shaft to use quick hitch. Good luck !

Yeah older equipment was not made to the same specs of newer equipment had to modify a couple of my older pieces but once done everything is gravy after that. Would suggest you look into getting some Quick Hitch Adapter Bushing Kit for 3-Point Hitch Tractors.

Some attachments are not quick hitch compatible, it helps to have all attachments from the same manufacturer with the same hookup dimensions because quick hitch is not universal, Pete's is not a 3 pt quick hitch...

I would change my lower pins to category 2 pins or install category 1 to category 2 bushings before the lower hooks batter out due to the extra clearance.

you need 2 class 2 bushings for the lower arms which are class 1. This will take some of the slop out of the back blade.

Those lower arm locks are spring loaded. Release handles only need to be raised to remove the attachment. 👍 I bought my quick hitch when I bought the tractor. I had to adjust the top hook but no issues after that.

None of the QH are perfect but I found Pats to do very well for most things. Some things like a post hole digger just can't work on the standard quick hitch, but Pat's works fine. The other game changer is a hydraulic toplink. - if you have rear remotes - it makes a world of difference on getting the full potential of things like tillers and box blades.

A little grease goes a long way. Every new solution comes with its own set of challenges. These attachments are great, if you change implements frequently enough, and you adjust each implement to fit the solution. As I get older, I'm more and more inclined to make those adjustments. :)

I love my quick hitch I just wish the top hook stuck out farther from the mount sometimes the implements catch on the two bolts. Also they have sleeves for the pins to take out the slop. Mine is cat 0 and I have to use two sleeves on my pins. I’ve modified couple old implements to fit so far still got some to go or eventually replace and I also welded a plate to the top and put a gooseneck ball on it that works perfect!

Here's my take on using a quick hitch. It seems to take the same amount of time to hook up to an implement each time (a person gets little better at it over time), but the real time saving is unhooking. Flip up the levers and drop it and you're done. I have had to do a few small modifications to make them work on certain implements, but once that's done, I was golden. Just my two cents!

Since you have the loader bucket this is great. However, I can see where it might be a problem adding more weight further out on the back without the weight of the loader to help balance that out. I can see a lot of wheelies in the future, maybe. I might be assuming there is more weight there than there is, but I am mainly thinking of the implements being those several inches further out from the back.

One of the reasons I didn't go quick hitch was having to also buy pin adapters for the lower pins on the implement. about 30 bucks a set, but you just disregarded them. You can see how small the pins are in the lower latches that's a lot of slop.

I've never ben a fan of them. as our bush hog and plow and disks have different widths on the lower pins. if i had to mess with it as much as you did i would have packed it up and sent it back.. they may be go on newer or say certain brands better.. I've never found it that hard to hook stuff up.

I've had my quick hitch for over 20 years and am very happy with it. You might have to do a little grinding or welding, especially on older equipment, but it's worth it in the long run. Replace your top hook bolts with 1/2 inch trailer hitch pins for quick height adjustment without tools. The 1/2 inch are the ones used on the small receivers often found on compact cars.

A quick hitch in combination with a hydraulic top link makes hooking everything up much easier. Also either get a modified top hook or cut yours to a more open angle to reach in and grab the top link pin on the attachment.

I had a similar obstacle connecting my scraper blade. I ended up just catching the lower pins first, then getting those top holes above the yoke bolt to where I could insert a hitch pin through them once that top hook was in between them. This involved slightly driving forward with the blade still resting on the ground until the top link holes put themselves to where a pin could be placed through them snd that top hook. It does require an extra trip on and off the tractor.
