Honestly, this IS my favorite episode. Between this, the bank run, and that's a paddlin, there's so much to love here.

Homer doesn’t know what his job is about, works there regardless, but is smart enough to say and know the word “Thermodynamics”.

“He’s either a criminal mastermind, or a stupid birdbrain.”

I like how instead of teaching, disciplining, or structuring their OWN children they resolve to pawn it off on the school again.

I love how Bart seems to telepathically know his mother is watching him before he looks at her - which actually makes sense canonically because the show establishes that Bart can read people's thoughts a season earlier in "The Boy Who Knew Too Much".

I mean, there really is something unnerving about flying a kite at night.

Given just how many clips this channel has of just this video and still finding new ones, this has to be the best Simpsons episode in history.

Back when The Simpson's truly was the best animated show on television.
Even now, as great as South Park, Rick & Morty, ATHF, Frisky Dingo, Robot Chicken, American Dad, etc have been at different points I still think Season 6 & 7 of The Simpson's stands up to anything those shows ever did. Those seasons were absolutely iconic.

Eerily and sadly familiar after 3 years of lockdowns and homeschooling.

I love how the perpetual motion machine just looks like a motor driving a ratcheted wheel. It makes no physical sense... but then, so does the very concept of perpetual motion.
