I use several Godox products in my home studio and am limited in space. I want to use a UB-165s or w for some of my portrait and headshot work. Will it work with the MS300V?

I'm looking at that 165cm with diffusion. I think it would be great for some studio work. Thanks for this video, and I'm I'm so glad Godox makes stuff like this affordable for photogs like me on a shoestring budget.

Excellent video, this helps a lot with deciding on which umbrella to buy, I need a large umbrella for wedding portraits. I have decided that the 178cm octagonal soft box would be my go to umbrella. Already have 47in strip box which is is always my supporting light modifier to hi light my subjects hair, and to create separation from my background.

I use a couple of 105 cm reflective umbrellas and a translucent one. Thou I wasn't aware that Godox makes a translucent lining for the reflective that gives a rather harsh light.

None of these umbrellas actually are parabolic. Godox is using a precise, geometric term as a meaningless, marketing buzzword. They need to stop, especially since they offer true parabolic reflectors.

I work with social photography (weddings and birthdays) and studio photography (family, portraits, ballerinas). In my studio and in the external photos at the moment I only use Softboxes (QR P90 among other Godox modifiers (square and rectangular) attached to the Sk400, Ad400, Ad200 pro, V860 and VL1 flashes. But I intend to use a 105cm white reflector umbrella both in the studio and outdoors.

PARABOLIC - i like parabolic, becuase in focus is light like freshnel - strong direct light and is possible play with focus from strong light to littlebit soft ;-))

models - fashion to nude.
Godox - just work, i migrate to godox from bowens - why? 1) bowens end, 2) Price , 3) Quality and battery godox system in pro series (before godox i was used bowens esprit + PB heavy battery pack - now is all light, smaller and work)

I like that flash tube get more to space like bowens, not be inside flash ;-)) becuase flash tube must be in light modificator like reflextor, softbox etc (for this i like BRISE or prophoto) ... but now is godox better and tube is more in space ;-))

Now godox need standartization ;-)) ... imagine world, where i have same battery for pro 400 and 600 ;-)) same charger adapter ... i very like new godox mount, "umbrella stile quick" reflectors and quick reflextors (for bowens mount now)

Now i am happy that i have radio trigger that is standardized ;-)) i use fuji GFX system, work HSS - yep new modern way how to use relative week flash like 600Ws and 400Ws for small appreature like full hole ;-)) and nod needed ND filters - i nedded ND4 (maybe ND2) becuase GFX support max 1/4000 not 1/8000 like my old nikon D810

I am happy, becuase i have working product and trust me, i use bowens before and i don't say same about another chinese brands ... i say that in canon don't work autofocus, on GFX don't work focus to eye in full body etc. ... if i say that goodx work, then work nearly to 100% for me (every flash is coreect and correct power, all flash flash in same time. color temp is nearly same in time etc. etc.)
Next aspect is price, i have good quality for good price as bonus.
Yep some another brand don't like me but i don't say his names in public, only in private chat or i say - i don't know i have my brand and because work i don't need test something else.

And feature ? - one time somebody make new super battery and small flash like AD300pro ... but with 600Ws power ;-))) ... this is possible, becuase i remember history and first ultra heavy and big flashes ... NitridBarium maybe help with this ;-))

Namaste from Himalayan country, Nepal. Thank you for the detail info with demo of umbrellas. I am a commercial photographer and I use different kind of modifier as per need. I have 85cm translucent and reflective ones pair with my Ad400pro. I use reflective umbrella for soft skin like female models and translucent for male model. Sometime I alter as per my need. Other example, translucent umbrella for key and reflective for cut light/ hair light. We can use umbrella as a reflector (second source, flash power off mode)

I would definitely go for the 165cm with diffuser cloth and pair it with the AD200pro / MS300 STROBE Flash - Reason being I do outdoor & Indoor Photoshoots and this combination would do me justice as the setup is quick and portable - also the results are amazing - Umbrella would be a blessing especially for taking full body shots.

Seems like the way to go for me. Will the largest size umbrella with white be a good choice for a small group photo of 4? My friend would like an outdoor portrait shoot soon and I have an AD 600 Pro coming. I’m hoping one strobe and large parabolic umbrella will get the job done.

After buying two Godox speedlights and the X2t transmiter which works superbly, I just placed an order trough Adorama the 130cm umbrella to supplement my other Godox 2x2 square softbox and my other umbrellas. Look forward to doing more portraits of family and friends. Im not a professional but do some wedding occasionaly.

Hello Sir, thanks for the detailed explanation and sample shots. I have a question - I am a beginner photographer from India and I was asked by a fashion startup company to shoot their apparel with models/mannequins in the studio. Our budget is very limited and I am looking at Godox AD300 Pro with a 120 CM Octabox as my key light. I already have a Godox TT685 and a small softbox which I can use as a rim/hair light or as a secondary source to light up the background. Could you please suggest if the AD300Pro and 120 CM Octobox would be enough to light up head to toe shots? Please suggest.

Mr Tao this was so good! I currently use a 1.5x2m diffuser and 2x 46cm umbrellas for film production. This 130cm reflective + extra diffuser is tempting for more on the go, 1 c-stand setups so I'd like you to gift me one ;)

Just received my order of UB130W with silver reflector. Haven't tried it yet. I have been using a 95cm Godox octagon softbox with grid (bowens mount) and an 84cm shoot through umbrella for portraiture combined with AD200 PRO and a Ving 860 II. They were good enough for headshot and half-body shots and I'd love to try the larger one for whole-body composition.
