Brilliant & inspirational! Thanks, Hal! pb
ОтветитьThis gives me courage to go on ❤
ОтветитьOmg so was looking for another version of this song and came across this omg in shock what a stunning version of this beautiful song wow I didn’t know he could sing loved it
ОтветитьPeter O'Toole was a true knight errant, who gave his all when he delivers The Impossible Dream!
ОтветитьBack in the 60s this was my elementary school song for graduation. Still brings back memories good and bad .
ОтветитьLa considero la mejor versión de cuentas hay y lo dice un español.✨🤩🇪🇸👌👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьI'm still baffled as to why all film critics at the time of this film called it the worst film adaptation of any Broadway musical in history. The critics unmercifully buried this film and called it garbage.
ОтветитьListen to Maria Bethanis version
ОтветитьLichano pavorotti
ОтветитьThis has always been my favourite version because it’s an actor singing it, not a singer. It’s not being sung to sound perfect, it’s being sung by a tired old man who just won’t back down.
ОтветитьHmmm...? Stage it like? He's so frozen. I think I'd have the actor moving on stage like a monkey. Swinging from...? He'd be out of breath. Pre record the song. Use a tree ...peek a boo. Flips. I agree there needs movement. Stairs. Yes.
ОтветитьThank you and love you all.
ОтветитьMy father took me to see this play in Boston many years ago as a "coming of age" gift on my 16th birthday. Afterwards I spent the evening with many of his aviator friends who flew for the airlines. As they drank their scotch and smoked cigars they spoke only of brotherhood and the virtue of good men and what it meant to be one. His heart was very much that of a wandering poet and his lessons were always direct and thoughtfully handed out. He passed away earlier this year and being a sailor of many years we buried him at sea and returned him to the chaotic beauty of the ocean that he loved so dearly. Movies like this are too infrequent just like my father was.
ОтветитьGreat song, even if Peter had to have that last note dubbed. But c’mon, he really should have not been allowed savoring the red dye #5 cherry lozenges before filming… otherwise great makeup!
ОтветитьJ am I din diuute'
ОтветитьDaniil Medvedev?
ОтветитьThe best performance of this song! Ever! Beats Andy Williams, Elvis, Tom Jones, etc et al. RIP, Sir.
Ответить🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
ОтветитьLuther Vandross sang this song too.
ОтветитьThe most beautiful song on earth.
Ответить"He is a holy man, a true seeker. Among my people, a true seeker is treated with the utmost reverence and respect. It doesn't matter that his Grail may or may not exist. What matters is that he strives for the perfection of his soul and the salvation of his race and that he has never wavered or lost faith."
Delenn of Babylon 5 said it, and this why he is a Hero, no matter what.
A touch of madness makes the world shine. In such a world as this we might as well strive for what we hold dear even if we're going a little insane doing it.
ОтветитьWho knew that he could see so well? A great song sung well.
ОтветитьSome of the worst movie make-up ever.
Ответить"Brave Sir Knight. May I follow you on your quest for the Holy Grail"?
"No. Piss off."
❤👌🙏😃
Ответить“Dangerous Romance” brought me here! If you know.., you know! 😂
This is such a amazing performance and song!
First heard the song by Jack Jones in 1966. Then saw the broadway show in New York in 1968 with Hal Holbrook. Saw the play again in the 1970’s at the Fisher Theater in Detroit with Robert Goulet. Loved this song since I first heard it. It’s one of my favorite plays.
ОтветитьI’m often ridiculed for being Don Quixote and they’re surprised when I say thank you. Some of the windmills truly are monsters. How can we know which? We must tilt at them all.
ОтветитьLove you...❤
ОтветитьI, with my graduating class of Dobbins Technical High School, sang this song in 1967.
ОтветитьI listen other versions, but Peter O'Toole the best!!! His is singing and feel words of this wonderful song!!!!!!
ОтветитьIf only we could all be as sane as the honorable knight errant Don Quixote De La Mancha.
ОтветитьTimes have surely changed. Back in the day, a singer, a movie star, a big band can be great for so many decades. Tony Bennett just retired this year. They are so famous that they were known world wide. Starting with the 80’s, most movies turned into computer generated scenes, robots, they have no connection with real people, real life. No story like Casa Blanca, For whom the bell tolls, Man of La Mancha, Camelot. No more real acting. Actors are only a small part of a movie. No more Bogart, Cooper, or O’Toole. I was lucky to have enjoyed the classics, the the golden age. It is a shame that the later generations did not have the same chance.
ОтветитьQue saudade do tempo em que Hollywood tinha atores e não apenas efeitos especiais. Maravilhoso
ОтветитьI saw this movie wirh PeterO Toile at the cinema . IT was an event Luke tha spune of musuc .
ОтветитьThis song is simply amazing. Even to this very day. But even more amazing is the fact that quite possibly Sophia Loren is the most beautiful woman of her time. Bar none. If not her then whom? I await your reply. Good luck. My opinion only. Not sorry at all.
ОтветитьTo catch a thief, you set a thief. To play a madman, you cast a madman.
ОтветитьMiguel de Cervantes who wrote the novel, was enslaved for five years by North African Muslims and at one point was a galley slave.
Indeed, he was just one of many Europeans enslaved by Africans. This went on until the 19th century.
He was ransomed/purchased back by the Trinitarians, a Catholic order of monks founded for the sole purpose of getting white slaves back. Cervantes was ones of the lucky ones. Most never returned.
My father's favorite song
ОтветитьSophia Loren looks so beautiful in this scene.
ОтветитьCan anybody help me find out who is the original singer of this song in the movie? Thanks in advance for your by help.
ОтветитьMy Dulcinea dumped me and rightly so.
ОтветитьThis song is the soundtrack of my life… ❤😊

ОтветитьTHE WORLD TODAY MORE THAN EVER NEEDS PEOPLE LIKE DON QUIJOTE ...
ОтветитьMad? I think not! If the world things that such items are mad, if the world thinks that doing is mad, that reaching towards the skys for the purpose of grace is mad, then it is not you who is mad! It is the world that has gone mad, and it is our time to make them see reason!
ОтветитьThis is the best version. (I've checked.)
ОтветитьWhen this movie came out it had received very negative reviews. This is one of my favorite movies. A true classic
